51  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: sims will not age on: 2007 September 04, 04:47:16
strangel- most definately am using the latest version. i think i downloaded it 10 times trying to make up my mind if i really wanted it. then deleting it because i didn't know what i was doing. then changing my mind. then the freakin' aging problem. trying again. it was junk townies. i found it in the middle of a list burried at the bottom of the rtfm.  the rtfm is so involved and complicated i just missed it until i knew exactly what i was looking for. the way it usually happens.
52  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: sims will not age on: 2007 September 03, 16:51:57
only my adult sims are aging. elder, teen, and child sims are stuck. i am not getting any errors either. and everyday, every adult sim on the lot gets the birthday message regardless of how many days they have until the next transition. i am not using any aging hacks or cheats, i feel they defeat the purpose of the game.

Anyway, I ended up evicting that family, moved them to another lot, and that problem disappeared. So, it's probably caused by a fawlty lot, rather than an installed hack.

nope, not a lot. it happened on 8 lots and just on the adults, which is why i thought i was weird. didn't have any errors and the hdcu didn't give me anything useful which is why i came here. i should have started going through my downloads folder though because it was inteen. dug through the rtfm for it, turns out it was junk townies.

and that regenerates upon startup too?

anger and cheating. all the best marriages are built on that foundation.

in uni i have it set to brothel and turn off the asperation restrictions. installed a photo booth, hot tub, and a few double beds. (i do that in my retirement homes too.) and all the sims are bi to boot. there is more woohoo on these lots than there is eating and sleeping combined. i always thought it was very odd that dormies came to the marriage bed virgins, or only having woohooed with playables long since dead from old age.

that i grabbed up in the first stages of testing. it's one of the few things i couldn't play without. it's just that all my sims are exactly the same because i can't bring myself to intentionally holding them back from college or the top of the career ladder or the perfect mate. i was just using it for the spice of not knowing who was going to knock who up. then i was going to stick them together, for better or worse. my young adult are sluts, i wanted some of them to pay for it.  Grin

i ended up grabbing my backup sims2 folder and trying again. one freakin' folder at a time. i figured out two things.
1. sims only age once a day. you can't set the clock back to 5 and get good results, you have to advance it to the next day.
2. inteen and i mix like oil and water. i guess my ya won't have "accidents" and have to drop out, never to fulfill their lifelong dreams. i just don't see how it impacted aging, or lack thereof i should say. oh well.

took out my downloads folder. tried multiple lots, different age catagories. checked my userstartup. turned off aging, then turned it back on again. nobody ages. not even adults now.

62  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: How to: Remove the custom content star from changed EAxis outfits on: 2007 August 29, 00:09:37
this method works just fine. all of my townies have splendid winter wardrobes now, starless of course. the only difference i did, was i didn't change the version. i only wish you had posted this a few weeks ago. searching for "remove asterisk" brings up a lot of junk. Tongue
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cyd Roseland Question on: 2007 August 28, 23:42:16
get the hdcu. http://www.simwardrobe.com/ mine was doing that too. turns out uni-careersDEBUG and harderjobs dont play nice together. i should have read all the posts to begin with.

that would make sense, i just downloaded that mod last week.
66  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Playable Pet Walkby Issues on: 2007 July 25, 22:39:19
since i am in the process of reinstalling my game, and have already stuck my nose in this, i will check to see if this is still a problem with no hacks whatsoever. if i am still getting an error i will go look up how to post it.
67  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Playable Pet Walkby Issues on: 2007 July 23, 18:00:25
floopyboo, do you have moniques animal incest mod, dj sims nofreelitter, or petsmotiveadjuster_xptl297 (probably from mts2)? im having the same issues with my game and these are the only non-awesome pet hacks i use. my money is on the motive adjuster. the walkby can be great fun sometimes. last night one of my grunt offspring was walking a crittur pup, i reset the dog. grunt was then stealing my newspaper, reset the dog again. now my grunt changes into athletic wear and jogs off the lot taking the dog with him.  Cheesy

it's just one of those funny sims things. like fulfilling the woohoo want in the photobooth, with the photobooth.  Huh

yes there is a way to save it. it says that you can save it, never spoils, and can be sellable. but i havent tried it as of yet. http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=226764

yes, my quagmire. no shotgun, it was a little bitty bullet.

my poor sims, they dont branch out much from the trunk.  Tongue unless i turn the acr to spouse only, weddings and parties turn into riots. sister against sister, father against son. but since i installed fight club i might start leaving it set normally.
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about engagements on: 2007 July 08, 04:58:43
Four words: No mother-in-law.
If you can't stand your mother-in-law, divorce is soon to follow anyway, as clearly, your spouse has the genetically inherited tendency to piss you off. Never marry anyone who's family you hate. If you hate their family, you hate them, too. They're all the same.

wow, does not bode well for me. momma tried to run him through with a pitchfork and dad "gave" him a bullet engraved with his name. grandma offered him $200 to leave me. forget divorcing the spouce, divorce the family.

75  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / saved lot went back in time on: 2007 July 06, 01:13:23
this is a very very bad thing i bet.
ashton has a home business cemetery, a wife, and a baby. before my new play session i plopped my newly downloaded lot debugger and seasons controllers into my foundation. i nuked and fixed, placed the newly deceased and their funeral flowers, then played semi-smoothly for two sim days. on the second day i grew up lucien to a toddler, changed his clothes and hair then began skilling him. ashton and daria retired to their bed to woo hoo. thats when i noticed that the "try for baby" option was not available. no biggie, was going to check other lots before coming here. i check their ages, the acr controller, and the tombstone of l&d. everything seemed fine. i impregnated daria then sent them to bed, saved and then i went to bed. today i installed the beerkeg, sellable juices, and moniques newest relationship remover. heres the problem. my lot has gone back in time two days. my toddler is a baby, i have no debugger or controller, and my sims are reset as if i installed a patch (i.e. dogs sunk in floor, sims poped out of bed). so i checked to see if i had actually saved, i did. daria is pregnant (twins, 0 hours), lucien has charisma/wants/fears, new tombstones scattered across lot, same customers back from two days ago, and no trash memories. when i replaced the debugger i noticed the smite button was still showing the same names from my last play, thus the same customers. its like this weird mishmash of my last two save points.

edit- lucien is still pictured as a toddler in the family loading screen. i tried giving him a bath, changing his clothes, and turning him into a plantsim. next thing i know i am missing ashton, his picture is gone and he is nowhere on the lot. i teleported ashton and three dead sims to the lot. the dead sims brought back the missing tombstones. i checked a few of my other houses and nothing seems amiss for any of them. when i tried to exit my controls were disabled.
