Thanks for the link Metalkatt.  Grin
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A question about custom eye-colours. on: 2006 November 08, 07:14:56
Well, why don't you use Simpe to set the genetics of the eyes to match the Maxis ones.  It takes about ten minutes to half an hour, depending on the number of eyes you have.

Stupid question.  What do you change in Simpe to match the maxis ones?  I've binned hair and know what to change for those, but I didn't know you could do this with eye colors.

ThyGuy I get what you are saying.  I was in the IT field for almost 10 years.  I have to be more patient and understanding with folks that just do not have the experience I do.  Not everyone is computer savvy.

I also over look or forget things myself, stupid things, and get quite embarrassed when I do.

54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: IE 7.0 sucks on: 2006 November 05, 23:16:35
ThyGuy, I'm not sure what the reason for such a hostile response was, but relax.

Thanks jsalemi, I should have done that before. I'm not sure why I didn't.
55  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Sim Scribbling - Louis Self-makeup #7 Skin Tones Available on: 2006 November 05, 23:12:34
I know that some folks here and there have gone looking for Louis's Self-makeup #7 Skin Tones and have been unable to find them.  They used to be up on the Exchange but have since been removed.

A while back Louis had given permission for folks to share their files so I have taken the liberty of doing so.

Sim Scribbling - Louis Self-makeup #7 Skin Tones are available here.

56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: IE 7.0 sucks on: 2006 November 05, 18:51:33
I use both because some websites do not support Firefox.

IE7 is slow as all get out and I get debug errors a lot.  It pisses me off, but does not surprise me.
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pet Peeves: No water bowl, no brushing, no paper shredding? etc. on: 2006 November 05, 04:46:13
Tell me about.  My cat, Teeny Tiny Taki, is only 4 1/2 pounds, but good lord what a terror she can be.  She gets the Squirrelly Wrath going and my other cats run like hell and they are twice as big as her.  Grin  My 15 pound cat is very much afraid of her.  Cheesy
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any One Else Having This Pet Problem on: 2006 November 05, 02:34:58
I just did it not too long ago.  I did it purposely to see what would happen.  I installed the games in a weird order and had no issues.  As a matter of fact I installed The Sims, then University, Glamour Life, OFB and then NL.  Even though I installed NL last I still had to use the latest EP CD which at the time was GL.  It asked for it when I tried to use the NL CD. I also installed each corisponding patch directly after each EP I loaded.

I didn't install them with my The Sims 2 folder in place though.  I moved it prior to the installations and moved it back after running the game once.  All of my neighborhoods, CC and Sims were intact and I had no issues.  Thankfully.  Cheesy
59  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Caps Lock acting as Alt-F4 on: 2006 November 01, 22:02:06
That sounds like your caps lock key has been remapped.  Have you recently scanned for viruses?  I have heard that there are Trojans that can do this, but I cannot seem to find out for sure if this is true.

60  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Oops! I broke it...really bad! on: 2006 November 01, 21:46:05
Which EP are you running?  If you are running Pets did you just recently load it while leaving in your existing The Sims 2 folder?  Do you have any hacks at all in your game?  Did you recently download a house?  Have you tried moving your downloads folder over to your desktop and tried loading the game?  Is this happening on just one lot or all of them?  Have you tried deleting your groups.cache and cigen.package files from The Sims 2 folder?

Sorry for all the questions, but a little more info would help diagnose the problem.  Grin
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pissing on the porch on: 2006 November 01, 20:35:45
I wonder if there is a way to have them only pee on dirt or grass, not any other type of flooring.  You also wouldn't want your dog peeing on a patio or a driveway.

Thanks.  I still feel like I'm forgetting some though.  Tongue

EDIT:

FYI - I am trying to keep this updated on a daily basis.
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pet genetics screwed up? on: 2006 October 30, 13:59:21
Although it kills the organized and rational part of my brain to add to the off-thread-topic chat, I have to add this: since moving to SC from OH 10 years ago, I've noticed that people down here, instead of saying "I have been poor since I was 5 years old" they say "I have been poor since I'm 5 years old."  The grammar down here, man.....nonexistant.  Ohio's public school system puts SC's to shame.  It makes SC look like Namibia, with no cute babies for Brangelina to adopt, just ugly inbred ones.  I have more teeth in my head than some entire towns in this state.

Heh heh heh.

I totally know where you are coming from.  I lived in Spartanburg, SC for a year and was simply dumbfounded by the idiots there.  It wasn't just some of the folks, it was all of them.  Of course there were a lot of folks, "keeping it in the family" there too.  Huh

I also lived next door to a red robed member of the KKK.  I was very excited to leave SC.  You could not pay me to ever live there again. I'll stick with redneck Virginia.

I have their hairs and they look great in game.  I stumbled across them some time ago and was way excited about it.  Cheesy
65  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / My List For Updated Hacks/Mods for Pets on: 2006 October 30, 02:01:46
I got tired of trying to keep track of the updates for all of my favorite modders so I made a compilation of links.  I hope this helps others as well in checking for updates for Pets.

66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dull looking objects on: 2006 October 29, 00:52:02
Cool, I'll just blame it on Maxis EA.  Just another fuck up on their end.

Actually I suppose if it was a T&L issue the mirrors wouldn't reflect and mine do reflect.  Undecided

Maybe they'll put out a patch for it a few months from now that will in turn break something else that will never get fixed.  Tongue
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dull looking objects on: 2006 October 28, 22:19:06
I have the same issue and I am using a Radeon x600.  I am also using a laptop with a pent 4. 2.2 GHz processor with 1 gig of ram.

It is not the processor or memory and I am using the same settings in this game as I am on my primary desktop PC.  So it is not the settings in the game either.

It has to be the graphics card and/or driver.  Great.  Roll Eyes

EDIT:

My card does not support hardware T&L and this is why the objects are dull.  I would assume that is the issue with the other video cards used that are having the same issue.  The only thing to do would be to upgrade the card.
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: cat beds that dogs won't use and vice versa ... on: 2006 October 27, 17:08:51
I can relate to that.  One of my cats used to sleep with me, but he decided that the whole queen size bed was his.  He would flake out on it all stretched out in the middle of the bed.  I couldn't sleep because he kept pushing me and what not.

He cried and clawed at my door for about two weeks after I booted him and closed the door.  He finally gave up.  Cheesy
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: cat beds that dogs won't use and vice versa ... on: 2006 October 27, 16:58:12
I would prefer that dogs stay off the human beds entirely.  Dog are stinky.  Phew.  Tongue
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack to get your Sims to just stand quietly in CAS? on: 2006 October 17, 00:19:50
I added this hack into my game (OFB & GLS) and I still get the animations and they wont stand still.  Crap.  Undecided
71  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Aurora Road - Second in my Maxis-Only Items house series on: 2006 October 06, 01:25:30
Oh wow gethane, I really like the look and layout of this one.

Thanks for sharing it.  I love Maxis Only houses because it is much easier then having to run around downloading custom meshes for custom objects.

Thanks so much.  Grin

All files without actual names should be summarily destroyed.

I concur.  I'm an asshat for even having them in my downloads.
