51  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers Wanted: Pets Custom Content Updater Program! on: 2006 November 02, 23:56:26
I just discovered a jump bug in my game with a custom TV I updated. When a sim is watching tv and the dog goes to join both dog and sim jump and watch tv drops out of cue. Error log is attatched.

If you update computers for Pets, they'll also have the OfB options.

Have you managed to update the GLS furniture yet, Motoki? I'm not sure where to go to do that, don't really feel like buggering up my game more than it already is...
I've made a hack for this that should pet-enable them, I'm in the middle of a multiplayer game though, so I'll upload it later tonight, along with a new (hopefully) final beta version of the program. Smiley

awesome, thanks

Well it worked on the Maxis Nikko Lounge chair by MaxoidMonkey and it worked on a custom chair (Windkeeper's single tile Merrokan chair) but I still can't seem to get it to work for the GLS tv. Sad

I couldn't get it working on the tv either. I tried to use it in my sims house and there were no options for it at all. My sims couldn't watch it never mind the pets.

Next bright idea...

Could you add the ability to "OFB-ize" refrigerators and stoves?

And computers! but I'm content with what I have right now. (unless someone can tell me how to do this myself in simPE?)

Shiny! But is it me or do bathtubs not need to be updated? I feel stupid if I'm going on about this and they don't.  Sad
58  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers Wanted: Pets Custom Content Updater Program! on: 2006 October 25, 15:59:26
Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Edit: Just a note, were bathtubs forgotten? Am I blind and just can't see them in the list or is it possible they can't be fixed? I'm really hoping I can use my custom tubs to wash dogs cause the maxis ones aren't really that good.

Perhaps it effects how durable it is, ie how much chewing/scratching it can withstandbefore it is ruined.

That was my thought, but wasn't sure. Now to figure out what classifies as each price range... ah well a job for tomorrow I guess.
60  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers Wanted: Pets Custom Content Updater Program! on: 2006 October 25, 04:26:45
guess I'll be a womrat and test this out.  Backed up all my stuff and away we go. One question though when editing an object, what difference does it make when selecting cheap/moderate/expensive? Is it really important in how the object is interacted with or something?
61  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: 2 Error Logs... need help on: 2006 October 23, 19:09:12
Problem solved. It was Squinge's teentoyoungadultnocollege mod. Figures, I should have known from the start, guess I just overlooked it as the problem since my YAs were able to do all the college stuff. Guess I'll let them finish college and than remove the mod and let Sqinge know it needs to be updated.  Thanks for the help guys.

Hrm. Make sure you have updated all your hacks or have Pets compatible versions of your hacks. If you have any woohoo related hacks, particularly my risky woohoo, I updated that for Pets recently. Go get the latest version.

As for aging... do you have the Age Duration Hack? If so, make sure you have the most recent version. twojeffs has also updated that.

Otherwise, I don't know of any hacks, off the top of my head, that might cause breeding or aging problems with pets. If you are using Squinge type stuff, I would go to the InSim site and make sure all the hacks that you have of his are compatible or have updated versions.

Ste

The only woohoo hack I have is Casual Romance the autonomous version, I download the latest ones as soon as they come out before playing my game so it can't be that. It was working before with that one in there anyway.

I also have the latest age duration which was updated as well. I'll try getting these hacks again incase something happened and the latest one isn't in the game. I'll also go through the hacks I have by squinge and see if any of them in my game aren't compatable. None of them seemed like a possible conflict but I'll check them anyway and see what happens.

This is clearly the work of the non-awesome. Those errors don't match any known codes.

thats really strange because I had it working properly at one point, than I dumped the rest of my mods (the ones no one reported problems with) into the game and now its broken again. Guess I'll go through the mods and try to single it down to which one screwed it all up again. Thanks anyway.

Is that a college subneighborhood there?

nope, I'm using sqinge's YAnocollege mod so my YA's can go to college from the main neighbourhood

When University came out I just used that tool in SimPE to convert all the recolors over. I know Quaxi said it was mainly for creators and not for end users, but I thought it was just way too much to expect everyone to update their stuff. Some people weren't even around anymore and my half the time I couldn't figure out where I got something from and the filename did not help.  Tongue

I updated all my objects when Uni came out using SimPE... I'd gladly do it again if someone made a plug-in to convert the stuff for pets as well. With loads upon loads of user created content it would be more work to go to all the sites and find the stuff I've downloaded and hope the people have updated the objects. Also makes it hard to re-download objects when you've gotten them on a free rotation on a pay site.
66  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / 2 Error Logs... need help on: 2006 October 22, 23:15:38
I really hate to do this but I can not read an error log to save my life. I was having problems breeding my cats so I turned boolprop testingcheats on and poof an error came up when I tried to get them to breed. Problem is, I can't read the error log to see what is causing it or how I could fix it. Another error came up when my cat tried to age into an elder. Same thing, I don't know whats wrong or what I can do to fix it.

If anyone can read error logs or knows exactly what causes these problems (most definately a mod conflict, but which mod(s)?) Help would be greatly appreciated.

I know the wood flooring doesn't line up properly when you turn it sideways... not sure if thats what you mean or not... They obviously didn't fully test this feature to make sure it looked nice and worked with all the flooring types....
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets and Cars on: 2006 October 21, 16:38:34
I had that problem where my sims couldn't get in the car or when they did they wouldn't go anywhere. Yet on another lot I was playing before that it worked no problem. So in the second lot I deleted the car and the driveway and used the object remover on every square the driveway occupied. Then I bought the driveway and car back and off my sim went to work. When I hop back into the game I'll test all my cars to see if it worked just because I used a different car (custom not maxis) I'll try using the one I was trying to use in the first place and see what happens.
69  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted, nay needed: Dizzy's Smart Serve 2g for OFB on: 2006 October 18, 22:37:06
I'm using this mod with Pets and so far I haven't noticed any problems with it. I can use the "make many" option and my sim will slave away. "Serve Meal" seems to be working smartly too. I had two sims in the house and commanded one to "serve meal" and he made one sandwhich seeing as the other sim wasn't hungry.

I'll post back if I notice anything that isn't working.
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB and pool water... on: 2006 March 08, 21:12:23
Really? Thanks so much. I guess I'm going to keep these lots then.

Exchange lots always tend to be ginormous, but there are a couple of beach lots in MTS2 that have this effect, and are relatively small. You should check them out.

cool, I'll have to check them out then, thanks.
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB and pool water... on: 2006 March 08, 20:47:32
the water shows up for me in OFB and it didn't in Nightlife, I downloaded a few lots that had beaches like that and they all worked no problem.. too bad all the lots are so big...
