26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 08, 05:35:53
Ran into a glitch with my sculptor sim - he would start making some sculptures in ice/stone, and there would be a red, flashing cube instead of the sculpture. As if the model itself is somehow missing... Huh
weapons of choice - NRAAS super computer/story progression/no cd hack, slider hack, non default skintone hack, unlocked WA items, registered items hack. Wow, now that I wrote it all here, sems quite a lot, actually (even though they are all latest versions). Well, off to testing I go. Yay. Not.

yea, that and "Get to know" which was great for figuring out another Sims fave color etc...
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Getting CC to work post Ambitions and 1.12 patch on: 2010 June 05, 19:56:09
^ Confirming that one. I also managed to start the game with my packages in newly created Mods folder in My Documents  w/o the .dll file in the base game directories. Not vouching for AM though, still didn`t d/l it.
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What in the world is it about the game that makes it so badly optimized? on: 2010 June 01, 14:58:59
Motion to put the term "masturbatory e-peen" in everyday usage/MATY terminology.

Wizard_Merlin - Thak you, you were right. HELS is region 1. I do, however, wonder...base game, WA...will the future patches reduce to regions 1/7 for them as well...?
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Got High End Loft Stuff two days early . . . for all the good it does me. on: 2010 March 21, 14:50:54
M`kay, I fail. I got HELS. Well, you know..."got" got  Roll Eyes Finally managed to install it (don`t ask), and then I remembered there`s a new patch for it. I usually get my patches from http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Patching:Patch_Download#The_Sims_3_.28Retail_version_1.0.631.29 , butfor this particular one the region 2 is missing. So, If anyone could link me to a Patch 3.1.7 region 2, I would really appreciate it. Untill I get it, I can`t be awesome...*emo*

34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Surprise, surprise - major borkage. Yeey. on: 2010 March 09, 19:56:53
Short intro - running a fully patched, decrapified base game/WA + AM + decrapified store content in my documents DCCache folder. Windoze 7, thankyouverymuch.

Problem(s) - Can`t move sims in a new house. After eviction my household stays stuck at the clipboard, and the only solution is to click "cancel" and loose it, or quit the game. In CAS I`m having problems creating female sims - if I create a YA female, when I age her to ault, her face gets deformed (vertices on her face get fubared, and she ends up with either pointy spikes or super hard edges on her facial features. As in - like crunched piece of paper.) Same Vice versa (normal looking Adult gets messed as a YA).

Solutions (so far), without results - re-decrapifying everything. Starting a new save game. Removing the .dbc files from DCCache folder. Removing both save games and .dbc files from my documents. (Each accompanied with deleting the cache files and running the dashboard to identify conflicting files).

Note - eviction problem occurs randomly, only with 1 household, after which all other households start to fail as well (in all save games).

Thoughts, opinions, recipes welcome.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Decrapify vs. manual .dbc files? on: 2010 February 22, 05:03:10
Try this:
- Open a DOS Command Prompt window.
- Drag s3rc.exe to it.  Then type space and -fD and another space.
- Drag your .sims3pack to the command prompt window.
- You should then have something that looks like "c:\path\s3rc.exe" -fD "c:\path\whatever.sims3pack" (where path is the full path of where the file is located).
- Hit ENTER.

Tested. Works.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Decrapify vs. manual .dbc files? on: 2010 February 22, 02:44:58
Again - same here, just like in Cap`s case - your file installs fine, everything else is for crappers. I`m re-downloading the s3rc, maybe it works...*sigh*...I only get this frustrated when dealing with my family. And people in general...

EDIT - re/dl the Modern minimalist set (arred), decrapified, installed w/o problems. It`s the files we have on our HD. Now to figure out why...

As for reporting the same issue - just trying to show the problem is generic, and same steps result with same results in multiple cases. As for everything else - I`m an artist. I can do/say whatever the f*** I want and still be "avantgarde".  Grin
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Decrapify vs. manual .dbc files? on: 2010 February 21, 15:05:53
Having the same issue like Captain Marie over there. Decrapified and all - launcher says "No can do".

I hate that God forsaken thing.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: FPS limiter limiting FPS in an undesirable way after installing HELS on: 2010 February 17, 11:27:37
This just in - I`m a NOOB

Turns out it was the latest NRAas story progression that was causing "skippy" animations. Still staying awesome though.

You all must be SO happy for me, right?

40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: FPS limiter limiting FPS in an undesirable way after installing HELS on: 2010 February 16, 16:37:30
Also, a bit OT, but - I had a look at the "Options" file in My Documents/EA/TS3, and noticed that that option you could edit, which enables faster loading of textures and rendering (def. value 0, custom values 3000 & 9000) is now gone. I thought I could edit it and save me some troubles, but now that it`s gone... Huh
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: FPS limiter limiting FPS in an undesirable way after installing HELS on: 2010 February 16, 04:53:56
Noticed the same, lag issue as well. Don`t have HELS, but did patch to the latest version (things a guy would do just to stay awesome... Roll Eyes). Had a SV neighborhood since I first installed the game, and would hate to loose it.

I blame it on the patch. We all have our dashboards and compressors, don`t we? We clean out our cache files on a regular basis, right? So, the logic dictates - EAxis.

Is there a d/l link for a 2.3 version of AM (for those who still don`t feel that comfortable updating)?

To think, we are anxiously waiting to get a release, armed with the knowledge that it may FUBAR our installs...

We must be gluttons for EA Punishment  Sad

You mean WILL, right? Wink

And isn`t it great that all the stuff EA is releasing is packed with updates and patches, and not the content itself? HELS my ass, this one should be named "TS3 - We screwed up and you will pay for it" stuff pack.

HELS? You know what, EA?

45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Loading lots without the launcher on: 2010 January 25, 08:37:40
Lots install fine, but some CC (even non-store content) does not. I d/l some lipsticks and had to convert them to .package format, b/c Launcher couldn`t do the job. Could it somehow be connected to .s3p format files created with an older version of TSR Workshop?
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: SimPlague - corrupted Sims on: 2010 January 24, 15:29:47
I used Dashboard before as well, removed the conflicting files, but it made no difference...really am getting confused here.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / SimPlague - corrupted Sims on: 2010 January 24, 12:30:11
As of lately I`ve been experiencing problems with some of my Sims. I play them normally, but once I start the game again, some of them get corrupted - they loose their hair and get bald (the easiest way to spot them, noticed it sometimes happens when they go through an age transfer, from Teen to YA or YA to adult), and when I try to edit them in CAS via the dresser or mirror, the CAS screen appears, the music is playing, but it loads, and loads, and loads...till I open Task Manager and kill the game. One common thing to all of them is that they were part of my playable families, and they were all modified with user-created sliders (height, boobs, face, etc...). I tried reset sim on them, but with no luck. Anybody else having this problem? Any ideas/suggestions?

I`m running a 1.8/2.3 version with latest AM and NRaas_Story progression.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA to block any and all Custom Content? on: 2010 January 19, 23:49:05
Oh rlly?

EA...BRING IT!

I guess the legacy of Will Wright is gone. Quote - In an interview with Celia Pearce in 2001. Will Wright said: "I think when I started doing games I really wanted to carry that to the next step, to the player, so that you give the player a tool so that they can create things… To really put the player in the design role. And the actual world is reactive to their design. "
49  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 January 13, 14:41:12
And what about deleting?

Specifically - My .dbc files which I`ve moved to my Mods/DCCache folder contain not only store, but "regular" items as well (as in, third-party stuff). Is there a way for me to see which files are store items and which are not inside the .dbc file, so that I can pick them out (I want to keep only store items in those, and plop in new store items as I install them, to keep everything in one place)? It didn`t occur to me to do this BEFORE I patched, ungfff...I like things nice and clean.
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2010 January 11, 20:12:41
Ai, ai! Just have to find something from the store I don`t already have installed...

EDIT

O_o...it...WORKED...

I d/l that christmas stuff set (deco), opened each s3p with merlin and installed. Opened the launcer and saw that they did show up in downloads section, but didn`t have the "installed" icon. Started the game, loaded a house and - there they were! However - where did they install? Since I bypassed the launcher, there were no files in DCCache folder. Did they go directly to my .dbc files? Coconor, I followed your instructions and moved those to my mods folder, modifying the Resource file (you know, the workin method we all used), so...did the Merlin install them there? The items don`t have a custom icon in game.

K, is someone willing to second this one?
