TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Legacy Challenge for TS3

I started my legacy, and when my founder married his sweetie, he discovered she had a teen daughter. Well .. I couldn't just leave the girl over at the other house. She took the founder's name and everything. So I moved her in, which brough about an extra $1000. Turns out she's one day away from becoming a YA -- d'oh, my timing sucked. Anyway, when she moves out she'll take money with her, so I'm not going to worry about it. They need to have a "do you have any kids" question in addition to the "are you single" question.

Sim "foreplay" is weird. It is seems so utterly devoid of any passion whatsoever that you have to wonder if they're preparing to pass out rather than fuck.
* phyllis giggles! Pes, in all these years I don't think I've ever seen you say "fuck." You make made me giggle out loud!

Riverview seems to have a lot of homeless families who are hard to get in touch with. I don't know why. What I've taken to doing is when my kid Sims meet a member of the opposite sex in school, I immediately tag them as "sacred" to make sure they don't age up too fast or have some other funkiness happen to them. In order to actually get them around to meet, I throw a party at the juice bar and invite all the kids and teens that my kids and teens know. Sometimes they'll bring a friend.

They can also desire to break up with their spouses, which surprised the heck out of me.
This Sim had been married to a lovely gal all through young adulthood and they had a son. She was a hard worker on the political track and always wanting to kiss and woo-hoo etc. with hubby. Then after he became an adult he got this want to break up with her! He didn't appear to be interested in anyone else, and she had not cheated on him in any way. I decided they weren't spending enough time together, so I deleted the want and got them together for some quality time and woo-hoo. So after they woo-hoo, what does he do? Start criticizing her for being a vegetarian! They had a huge argument, and I think he called her mother a llama.
She went jogging and felt better after awhile, but the next day he came up with the want to break up again. I deleted it. Several days later, it came up again, so I decided what the heck, nothing worse than a loveless marriage, so I had him break up with her and go live with his brother.
The story isn't over, though. Next day, the brother calls her on the phone to chat. After the chat, SHE gets the want to kiss the BROTHER! Oh, the huge manatee!

Just out of interest, what IS the point of favourite colour? I know it crops up in conversation, but... is that it?
I have no idea if this was the sole intent, but when Sims discover they have a favorite color in common, it boosts their friendship a bit. Similar to how having a trait in common will give a boost. That's my observation, anyway. Someone who's seen the code could tell you whether my observation is true or just wishful thinking.

I just read on the sims 3 forum that having the awsome mod installed stops you from being invited to parties? A) Is this true B) Can you be rang out of the blue to attend somebody elses party? thanks My Sims were not invited to parties before Awesomemod, and they have not been invited to parties since Awesomemod, so my anecdotal experience suggests that Awesomemod has no effect on party invitations.

I was going to create a new thread, but this seems related. I created a new, empty hood with the Pleasantville sims form TS2, and Mortimer Goth's portrait keeps defaulting to his TS3 child portrait. It's creepy as all hell. Is this the same issue?
I don't know whether it's the same issue or not. However, I played Mortimer from childhood through death, and his portrait did that constantly. This hasn't happened to any of the other couple of dozen Sims I've played. When I got Fugly Moustache Guy, it only happened over one playing session with one Sim, and has not happened again.

I saw in the awesomemod configuration tool that there is an option for TS2 style aging where only the active household ages, which is what i've been dieing for! Can I get a confirmation from anyone that this works? It works. But you shouldn't need confirmation. The fact that Pescado says it is there should be enough. He only makes things that work.

EA obviously should've made a better default thumbnail than that to avoid confusion.
That reminds me of something, but I'm not sure what. That was my thought when I first saw this thread. (Long way for saying "This." ) I was hit by fugly moustache guy last night. I'm glad I'd seen this thread earlier. I noticed that it was after I've been playing a lot of hours, likely without a recent save. It occurred to me that might have something to do with it.

I dragged them in live mode out of the bookcase or out of personal inventory and set them on the floor, yes. Tried clicking on them; no go. My kids are all tards.
It's fine, really. I've decided that most of this game works off voodoo, and my reading mojo must have been off when I was trying to make the damn kids read. I'll try again another time and it'll work wonderfully well, no doubt. Y'all don't worry about it. I was just venting.

When I've tried having a toddler click on a book, there's never been an interaction available. I shall have to try again sometime, I suppose.
Well, despite apparent inherent literacy, they can not read books with big, complicated words. It's only the cute/obnoxiously titled books under "child development" that can be read by sprogs. Yes, dear, I did try the little kiddie books. I'm obviously cursed in this situation.
