26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Translating whole game? on: 2007 September 11, 17:58:05
It is possible.  You will need to get SimPE to edit package files.  You will then browse through the various game files and alter any "text lists" you come across.  I imagine it will take you quite a while.

Out of curiosity, what language do you want to use?

Lithuanian Wink And it's not me who needs it, I am happy with English version of the game. Smiley

Anyway, I tried editing some files and for some reason only a few editings show up in game Undecided The others appear untouched Huh Maybe I'm editing the wrong files? I took my files from Seasons EP. Maybe I should have started with main game files? Althought they seam to contain the same information as main game files. Roll Eyes

I was wondering if it's possible for us (players) to translate the whole game to another language? I know we can change names and such to our liking so I suppose we should be able to translate other things as well... I mean I am already familiar with the files but I still have to figure how to make game read the letters right (unicode???) and how to add language selection to the language meniu on installation. Any thoughts?
P.S.: I know it's pretty crazy idea which need a lot of time and patience and blah blah blah... Roll Eyes

I got mine at Game Burn World and it works fine. Tho I was wondering if you guys have this crazy pop up where you have to click Play before it loads the game appearing? Is it Maxis made? It's really anoying, ya know (doesn't seem to be spyware/addware thing but still)...

Ok, so I tried the method above and it didn't work with only one blush. But then I tried to link a few blushes to each other by changing their family line and then each to different skintone (including geneticized custom ones) and it worked perfectly! Thanks everyone for helping me!

Damn, I hate snow days Grin But I like realism they add to the game...
And talking about real life schools, I went to school in the country where minus 20 celsius and meter hight snow piles are standard for winter so I only had 2 "snow days" in 12 years. Here in Scotland they are closing schools, shops, everything when temperature hits minus 5.

I can't believe I never noticed that Undecided Althought it's kind of interesting. Maybe those pleasure sims dream of settling down, having some kids, ya know... Wink Nah... Roll Eyes Would be fun if sims could do that tho.

Brooke isn't short enough already?
Well, Brooke is usually already taken.

Don't worry, broo; it's because of a recurrent troll who's name is miss bree, and that keeps creating sock puppet accounts with "bree" or similar in nickname.
Therefore, whenever a poor unaware new user comes in, is immediatly looked at with suspicion.  Wink

So far, you're the second missbree's killmark, the other one was unlucky Breezilla.
No worries. I just went and searched for the info on that miss and am now aware of who she is and even thought it's not funny to be misstaken for someone you are not, especially if the person you are misstaken for isn't the most favorite person in the community, I understand peoples' concern.

I'm sorry, I have no idea what are you talking about. I've been using this nickname at various sims related message boards (like Sims 2 community for example) for about 2 years now. BTW, it's short for Brooke.

^ Same here. I want to prevent townies with darker skins from getting super light blushes, lipsticks or eyeshadows as I'm really tired of catching them one by one just to fix their makeup.

Thank you, pioupiou, for confirming my theory. I guess now I should try and see how it works for myself but I would still like to get more answers before screwing with things I don't fully understand...

Hi
I was wondering if there is a way to make certain blushes/lipsticks and other makeup to only be available for the sims with certain skintone? I'm also interested if it's possible to make certain makeup pieces dominant? I mean, to make it possible for all/most of the newly generated sims to wear the same blush or whatever..?
P.S.: If that makes any difference, all my makeup is decustomized.
Thank you!
