I'm not  a sadist or anything, but the knowledge sims want to be saved from death so often, I have to try killing them. I had a broken trash compactor once and I didn't want to cheat too bad, so I just moved a water puddle from the broken sink, I tried 8 times before giving up and cheating. Seems like those sims are super sims. Never even a fire with low-no cooking skills! I just hate the knowledge aspiration, the only good part is the max all skills lifetime want Cheesy

And I just found out sim parents can take their kids to school by car- I really should pay enough to have my toddlers grow up into kids before coming up with a new family or house idea. Seems my life is just a large mess of unfinished projects. Better get the macrotastics  and concentrate.  Wink

I make houses with foundations for unused basements, don't even add stairs or anything, just a big room and stick all the ghastly wanted objects there and sell them after a few days so they don't get upset when I sell them right away. Why keep a bowling alley for use if the guitar just adds hours of fun to the sim while the bowling alley just makes my sims stop playing after 3 turns Cheesy Totally useless at home I think.

Thank you MissDoh! I never thought I would need the lot debugger before, and I saw that my efforts of creating teen sims and sending them off to college and graduating them totally with twojeffs' college adjuster was so unneccessary, now I can upgrade my sims and have a solution for upcoming bugs Cheesy

I also found out you could center a sim with the right click on their icon just a week ago! I was pleasantly shocked  Shocked

However, I just saw something while I was killing off a household of sims. I was disappointed after I created them in CAS and saw that in the shower and when they're naked, their bodies are totally invisible. So I created them again and didn't want to decorate the awesome house again, and I decided to kill them off. After the last sim died, I got a message saying I was successful in killing all my sims and clearing out my house. It also said that "this is a simulation game and you're supposed to help keep your sims alive!" (duh) And it said "We aren't implying you meant to kill all of your sims, even if you did, we wouldn't blame you (or something) and you can quit without saving and try again" Continuing : "If you decide not to quit without saving, your now empty house shouldn't go to waste and you should probably move some new sims in Cheesy I hit printscreen but then as I was deleting the urns, I pressed it again, so I'm sorry not to be able to show you Cheesy

Now I sit with a lump in my throught, totally guilty, thinking, I'm caught.

 I try to exit to the neighborhood and I see I have the no selectable icons back. I can't select the neighborhood icon, the save icon or the exit icon, but I can click the build/buy modes. The bug is back. Is there a fix, I have all EP's and is there any way to get to the neighborhood without quitting the whole game from task manager and restarting?

Well I'm looking over there right now, are you talking about the prisoner set? I want to be able to use my downloaded doors though, I could give up on that, and does it allow non-controllable sims to live in home lots?

Well I use 2Jeffs College adjuster to add want slots and locks, and the career flamingo from DJ's sims to give them uni jobs, other than that, I don't know of any mod like the one you're talking about. If there is one, I want it too!

I also have a suspicion that I heard somewhere that there's an object that makes a selected sim on a lot go on free will, where you can also play the non-freewill sims. I love how the dorms work, I wish maxis would include a "rental apartments" or "hotel" business that allows you to control a selected number of sims on a lot and have npc's also living on it selectively. Like in dorms or  student housing. Anybody know of a mod like that?

Anyway, am I dreaming too?

I had this problem (I still have it) and I did some pretty extensive testing (in my own opinion) and found some interesting results. You can read my posts over at MTS2 in the help section, or you can just read the result here Smiley

I have found what is the cause of my problem! (sort of)
It is indeed something in my meshes folder, but I haven't found out yet. I have found out One very important thing though. When I buy a car for my sim, assign it to him/her (tried this 10 times), the first drive to a community lot always results in a taxi ride home. However, the second time in the same car, she/he can return home in his/her own car! But if I sell the old car, buy a new one and assign it to that sim, the first ride downtown results in a taxi ride again, and the second time I go, I can use my car again!

I uninstalled the whole game (all ep's) and reinstalled it, patched it, but only put in my hacks, reinstalled CEP, mesh folder, recolors folder (not the skins just yet), but I didn't try my neighborhoods. I created a custom neighborhood from the list. Then I created new sims everytime I put in a folder and tried taking them downtown.

testing (1)
Clean game- sim(a) can go downtown, can return home no problems.
Just hacks- sim(a) and sim(b)(newly created) can go downtown, can return home no problems.
hacks+CEP+meshes- sim(a) and sim(b)(newly created) can go downtown, can return home no problems. BUT! sim (c) newly created cannot return home in car, so I make him take taxi home. Then I again direct him to go downtown in the same car, and he can go home from there this time.

testing (2)
hacks+CEP+meshes- change car (sell and buy higher models)for sims (a,b and c), assign them to sims, go downtown- return home in taxi. Then try again after returning home, successful!

I think before when I first came across this problem, I always quitted to neighborhood without saving and tried different families all the time. Now I'm gonna see if my old neighborhoods can be saved, maybe at the weekend I'll try and see what causes this problem or maybe next week

**** I'm back. I put my custom neighborhood in from my backup file (it was an after- nightlife neighborhood so it's totally compatible, just the car problem), and the same result, the second time my sim goes downtown she can go home in her car, With a date even! I'm soo happy it finally works, even if it doesn't work the way it's meant to. I can see it maybe as a 'drunk-take taxi home' or 'new car too scared to drive it back home' incident
