226  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Rug divider madness on: 2006 December 18, 03:25:53
I am rather irritated with the whole divider thing. I put them in a house to divide the kitchen and dining area, and my sims were eating while standing in the kitchen and drinking espresso standing until I remove one tile's worth of the divider. While the whole different room thing is great for cribs, it sucks for evertyhing else.
227  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: See a Wolf and Leader of the Pack on: 2006 December 18, 03:23:10
Yes, this want is fulfilled even if the sim is on the other side of the lot on the third floor, sleeping, in the bathroom, or even away from the lot at work.  Angry This holds true for the fear as well. If the want or fear is rolled while a wolf is on the lot, it will not be fulfilled until the next occurrence.

Stupid EA
228  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wants & Fears problem. on: 2006 December 18, 03:20:20
Those wants and fears seem to be restricted to popularity sims, but i have to say I have not seen them since the base game. The only time is when loading the pre-made Maxis lots from a fresh install. Other than that, I think they disappeared when the first EP came out.
229  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Changing Terrain Files? on: 2006 December 17, 12:50:57
Actually it will change it for the lots - you just have to use the lot moving tool to pick them up and put them back down again for it to take effect. Cheesy
230  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Flashing Blue Accessories on: 2006 November 12, 18:11:31
That's why Dr Pixel says to say the lot with no accessories.  I'm glad he's going to try to fix the mesh tho.

Someone in another thread here said they upgraded the video card drivers and the problem went away too.

That would be me, and it was updating my nVidia drivers to 93.71. It got rid of most of the flashing blue accessories, even on my non-playables. Rings, earrings, cigarettes, and the like. I still get a flashing blue pirate hat, but only if I use a certain hair mesh with it - which makes no sense. Actually, the hat is the only thing that flashes blue now.
231  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Robert Kim and mirrors? on: 2006 November 11, 22:44:04
If you have Uni you can always try using the plastic surgery career reward. Also, the ImSIM object edition is working ok for that, but not everything is functional (Family tree, motive monitor, and a few others), but I have had it in my game for a few weeks without issue.
232  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do YOU Pleasantview? on: 2006 November 11, 20:26:23
Yes, it requires NL and Uni.

Strangetown Bella is a completely different Bella. She is just your average non-playable, and never leaves Strangetown. They just put her there for the storyline.

As far as the ressurectable list: Those are the ghosts in the family cemetery at the Goth house - which is buggy - and oftentimes the tombstones will disappear. I resurrected all of them after that happened and re-killed them, but they all looked and acted normal while still "alive"  Shocked

Miros: You can't because she isn't listed in the phone directory. She is only alive before and during the date. After the date she is marked as dead. That is why you have to resurrect her.
233  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Graphics card or corrupted object? on: 2006 November 11, 19:56:01
Ok, the new version is working great. Game updated successfully and everything. It also seems most (not all) of the flashing blue accessories have stopped flashing. Yay! I still suggest you make a copy of your entire EA folder. I do that regularly anyway. Here is the drivers page. I wasn't sure what version of Windows you are running so it is the selection screen. Hope this helps Smiley

234  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Graphics card or corrupted object? on: 2006 November 11, 17:58:22
You should update your drivers, as you are using a very old version. The current version is 93.71 - updated Nov. 2. I am currrently using 91.47 (I have a GeForce 5500), and will try out the new ones. 91.47 seems to be a really good version so far. Important though: Backup your entire game file before updating,  because oftentimes the game will not recognize the update and you will end up with loads of bugginess. The only way to fix that (that I have found) is to uninstall your latest expansion and then reinstall so it searches for your hardware again. I am going to try the new version now if you want to wait. If it sucks, I have 2 previous versions saved on my computer - 84.21 and 91.47.
235  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do YOU Pleasantview? on: 2006 November 11, 10:01:12
Haha, yeah, but that takes the challenge out of it. Besides, the outcome of the date doesn't really matter. She just has to go on a date. Anyway, there needs to be at least one bitchy and intolerant female in the hood Tongue

ETA: Also, I was talking no cheats. Getting her by cheating is easy.
236  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do YOU Pleasantview? on: 2006 November 11, 02:49:25
Er... are you pulling our collective sheeplish legs?

Yes, I am hungry and craving lambchops! Tongue

No, it is really quite simple. If you don't want to know, stop reading NOW.

First, go to the Goth house and look at the family tree. There you will see Bella's picture in color....meaning she is not dead. Then, make yourself a romance sim, Libra or Leo is good (Bella is a Romance Cancer), turn ons should be makeup and black hair. Add them to Pleasantview. Then, call the gypsy and keep paying the max for blind dates. Takes a few dates, but eventually she will drop out of the sky for a date. Now after the date, that sim will maintain the relationship points with her, but will not be able to call or see her. That is because she is now dead - as seen by the now black and white image in the family tree. At this point, you need to get ahold of the Ressurect-o-nomitron...perhaps Alexander can get in the Paranormal career. Then you can resurrect Bella, and all family ties are intact, she has 29 days left, and can live happily ever after. Her memories will be the same as Mortimer's from the time of the date ending as far as family events. Beware -she has NO personality points, and almost no interests...so chatting is not a good idea if you want a successful date with her.  Grin
237  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do YOU Pleasantview? on: 2006 November 10, 16:22:00
I am not one for playing Maxis hoods, but I was doing some testing thing one day in Strangetown about a year ago, and who should walk by, but Bella Goth. I am always up for a challenge, and I decided there must be a way to reunite Bella and Mortimer, so I went to play the Goth house for a bit.  So Alexander goes to college, and who drops him off? Bella!  Huh I had cinematics on for some odd reason, otherwise I would have never seen that. That was when I KNEW there was a way to get her back. I did, successfully, but since I saw no mention of her while thoroughly skimming ( Tongue) the thread, I thought it best that I not spoil it just in case someone wants to figure it out on their own. So Bella and Mortimer fell in love again since he never did die. I had him drink the Elixer of Life, and then he became a vampire. I let Don leave Cassandra at the altar - after which she married a nice CAS sim and had a cute little boy. Don started chasing after all the teenage girls and never did end up in a committed relationship.

Killed the Caliente sisters, as I found them incredibly irritating. Poor things were too lazy to order groceries....so very sad.

Lillith Pleasant ran away, and grief-stricken Mary Sue started a roaring fire in the kitchen - which was her demise. Daniel kept it up with the maid regularly, and Angela went to college and made friends with Lilith over the phone. Lilith then moves back to the Pleasant house and heads off to college from there.

Darren stayed alone with his painting, and Dirk went to college. Nothing exciting there, really.

I stopped playing that hood after that because it was buggy and bored me. The only reason I played it in the first place, as you know, was to solve the Bella thing.
238  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Small Neighborhood Terrain? on: 2006 November 09, 17:54:24
These 3 are my favorites. Same terrain, 3 different road layouts. They don't have images associated with them, but I have one for each if you decide you like them.
239  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Terrain problem... on: 2006 November 09, 08:18:04
I recently came across something similar when changing terrains. All i had to do was pick up the lots and put them back in the same place. Then they showed the real terrain. Did you use the change terrain cheat?
240  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Caps Lock acting as Alt-F4 on: 2006 November 02, 15:18:48
I had that happen to me two days ago with my USB keyboard. It kept changing all the keys and opening the "search for files and folders", minimizing my game, muting the sound, killed all my hotkeys for my media player. It ended up being an undetectable trojan packed in a .rar file located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data called "Tray Shim Bore Idle.rar" That has 2 .exe files in it, but I can't remember the name (I think one was called bleh 32.exe). There was also a Tray Shim Bore folder in my user account's Application Data folder. You have to have hidden/system files showing to find them. Deleting those (if you do have them) and running a registry cleaner should fix it. It is also posible they could be named something else. Good luck with it Smiley
241  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighbourhoods + townie creation on: 2006 October 11, 19:05:57
Excellent find, Jordi! I'll try this tutorial next time I make a new hood. Thanks again for answering so many questions in the other thread that I couldn't answer. Smiley
242  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Deleting, Creating, and Generating Townies OFB and pre-OFB on: 2006 September 11, 01:01:16
As far as I know, all premade Maxis hoods are not DAC capable without problems. Unfortunately I can't help with the rest of the questions at the moment. I haven't played in a couple of months and haven't played with OFB in about 4 months.
243  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: living on comunity lot on: 2006 September 09, 00:11:04
It's echo's mod at MTS2. Smiley

Actually, they both have one at MTS2, and Squinge has it at Insim as well. I have used both, and they both work.
244  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Deleting, Creating, and Generating Townies OFB and pre-OFB on: 2006 August 10, 03:13:24
I think you will be fine, probably. I never thought to check the text lists before addin new townies. At any rate, my hood is pretty old now and not buggy, so I imagine you will be fine.
245  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Deleting, Creating, and Generating Townies OFB and pre-OFB on: 2006 August 09, 22:24:50
Max: I have not had the game generate any townies randomly as long as I have exported 30 townies, but it will generate new bartenders and the like if you add another community lot, and the others are being used already.

I do not do anything with NPCs, so I can't tell you about them.

Shanpooter: That may happen if you moved a family from Pleasantview to your new hood. Otherwise, I don't mess with text lists (other than reading them from time to time) though Jordi may know something about this.

Firestorm: I have only tested this without an OFB patch, so I have no idea what it does with a patch. I haven't reinstalled OFB yet (I will eventually), but I will check it out when I do. That is really weird Undecided
246  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Good Spyware/Trojan blocker? on: 2006 August 08, 05:10:40
Any time I reinstall Windows I always make sure to go to the hardware and disable the ethernet driver. That fixes my spyware problem.  Grin

lol! I actually just reinstalled my firewall after many months of not having anything (and not getting anything). I know having a router with a firewall -most if not all have them - helps a lot.

I use BlackIce PC Protection only - most other firewalls suck in my opinion, and use a lot of system resources. So far, the hackers I know have not been able to get on my pc when I have asked them to try. This one is barely noticeable, but can be a bit of a challenge to set up for certain things.

I also run the free scanners at F_Secure and Trend-Micro from time to time.

Also, Kaspersky products are really good, but the anti-virus can lag other programs. Anti-hack is quite good, however.
247  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for Mens baseball hat to go with shaggy hair on: 2006 July 27, 16:51:56
You can get tattooed skintones at a few sites. MTS2 has a bunch, and so do GSC and InSIM.

Kavar made one with a backwards baseball cap and shaggy blonde hair that I just love. It is at GSC and you will have to register, though I think it is worth it. It is under Artist's Workshop, Kavar. I swiped the pic from the post so you know what it looks like.
