Deleteallcharacters deletes all characters no matter where they are. If do don't have notownieregen installed then townies will regenerate.
All I can think of to save sims would be to write down their personalities and use SimSurgery in SimPE to save their looks. I haven't used it recently so I don't know if there's a utility directly for preserving sims.

There's still a way to run OFB on a virtual drive with DAEMON tools, but it requires another utility. I don't know about OFB CD-cracks, but I think they do exist now.
The "Family Fun Pack" requiring the disk won't happen. They'd rather just require expansion pack activation like what Windows and Photoshop do now.

26MB, there's very few objects and even less recolors so that's why it's so low. The biggest Folder is a MATY dump which comes from people from MATY that aren't Pescado, TwoJeffs, or Crammyboy.
My game loads in about 10 seconds, I think. The song I used for a test barely even starts and the game is loaded. Before I fixed the load screen, the first part of the song played through.

No matter what "counter-measures" EA takes to prevent people from pirating this pack, they won't work. I doubt they'll require a disk to run the thing since it's installing Maxian Custom Content after all.

The University that I'm planning on attending in the fall costs about 5k a year, but that's cheap compared to a one in a small town and the one on the other side of my town which is supposedly is supposed to be better. Those cost 20k a year at least. I also doubt those private schools have the major that I'm planning I'm going into anyway, since they're both Liberal Arts colleges.
As for the game, the parents should pay. Especially if they're not attending a "Public" college.

I've owned mostly nVidia cards, but my first computer did have an ATI 3D Rage card. Being an early card, it did very poorly for 3D applications. My second computer had an nVidia TNT2, and this computer came with a Geforce 4 MX Integrated card which I then installed a nVidia Geforce 6200. My Geforce 6200 isn't performing so well for video related things (for example, the loading screen and splash movies) but it does run the game well. It also runs games like UT2004 well.
It's all about what you're willing to spend, I believe nVidia cards cost a bit more than ATI. Also, nVidia tends to outsource production to other companies such as BFG and eVGA.

I've got a feeling that the pig appearing is completely random since no one has found an actual cause yet. Maybe they threw this in the game since they actually made a twin cheat and want people to make crazy theories on why it appears. "OMG! If you have a pregnant sim eat 5 bags of cookies, enter in 'boolprop pigappear true' in the cheat box, and have them woohoo 10 times after the pregnant sim gives birth to a boy then the Pig will appear! I've had this work 2 times out of the 15 times I tried it so this must be the method!"

Buena Vista Games is a video game publishing division of Disney. BVG was created to publish and license video games based on both Disney properties and original intellectual property. Once known as Disney Interactive, BVG publishes and licenses games for both the core gamer audience and children.
BVG released the following notable games:
* The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe * The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge (Developed by Capcom) * Chicken Little * Tron 2.0 * Kingdom Hearts II (Developed by Square Enix)
In 2006, the company will publish games based on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Desperate Housewives. I'm honestly not sure if this Desperate Housewives game will actually convert anyone to gaming. I bet many of the fans of the series will skip it because they can't run it or the fact they don't play games. Playboy:The Mansion was also released to cash in on TS2's success, and probably sold just because of its title. For those excited about this game though, I probably won't convince you that this game won't be great. Just don't be shocked when you find that it's probably as shallow as a console TS game.

It's coming from Buena Vista, and they're not really known for having that good of games. Also, this sounds really story based and there actually be little in common with TS2.
The entire gaming industry has turned into a place for people to make a quick buck than just about the games. There are very few games today that are actually worth buying, and most of those worth buying are FPSes or RTSes.

All the signs point to a pets expansion, the constant begging, the confirmation of it coming eventually, "when pigs fly", the alternation of new/old ideas for the expansion. Chances are, they'll throw farming with it and have it be almost a remake of Unleashed without the benefit that most of us used it for, the addition of 30 lots. Sure, we'll probably get an "Old Towne" region or something but it just won't have the effect on expansion like Unleashed or even Nightlife had.
If you didn't already know, I hate the idea for a pets expansion. I mean, they'll just mess it up again like they did with Unleashed by unleashing a bunch of strays on the neighborhood and make them family members. They'll need to put some general features in there or else I'm not buying. However, I'm guessing the special creature will be a werewolf if there is one.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Downloading MATYville Full Version
|

The only thing about setting up a BitTorrent for a file like this is that we need to have people keep the file on their computers and always turn on their torrent client to get it to download at a decent speed. I've encountered files that don't have near enough seeds and too many leeches, thus I wasn't able to download. Torrenting something does take load off servers, and games such as WoW already use this for patch distribution.
I've got no knowledge on Packing/Unpacking Neighborhoods but chances are I think the game would just ignore the new data, but then again it does warn that data changes even when you install a new expansion. If you've got broadband you could always try it. The worst that could happen is that the neighborhood would hang or something.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How is the new OFB patch working for everyone?
|
on: 2006 March 24, 09:08:58

Well, first of all the Phone Hack has to be installed to have the option for who stays at home and goes to a community lot. There's also certain requirements that must be met even if you have the hack, like having more than 1 sim that is able to go downtown. I've had the thing work with OFBp0 but It could just have been a figment of my imagination since I only have about 1 or 2 houses which have more than one sim.
Can you remove the CC from the game manually from the downloads folder? Chances are, you'll need to do it like that if it can't be deleted other ways. If you don't feel like doing that, you could always try clearing the groups.cache and see if that does anything.

The "cheat" console was always buggy ever since TS2p0. 'x' will expand or contract the thing depending on what it's state is, and people have said 'exit' gets rid of the console. I usually use "Ctrl"+"Shift"+"C" to bring it up and remove it, but removing it usually has limited success. It seems to be working better for me now than it used to though.

I've installed OFBp1 and other than the fact that my sims reset there were no problems. Then again, this patch really didn't mess with anything that we're aware of other than lots dissapearing and the "Do Chores" option with the servo. I also did notice that the game loads slightly quicker now (I replaced the startup music with custom, and I notice now that the select neighborhood menu pops up about 15 seconds before the song ended and it played through the entire song before. The song is about a minute long.)
I don't know what to think of EA anymore, sometimes they do something like this and other times they won't do anything and say "It'll be fixed in the next expansion" and we know that they don't fix things with expansions.

|
on: 2006 March 23, 10:23:45

To answer the question, I play with Aging off. I hate the time it takes to sync more than 10 families and how Maxis does genetics. I swear that after I saw a child obtain the skintone of a distant relative or get that same damn flat nose their grandmother had I just don't want to deal with it anymore. I also want to enjoy the fricking thing and not just speed through it. However, I do use the Elixer of Life to keep my sims young instead of just using the cheat. If I didn't, they'd have too many aspiration points and I wouldn't have a point of fufilling wants. Plus, someone doesn't stay an adult for only 30 days.
As for the speed, I usually have it on 3 when I'm having my sim skilling, or at work. Also, I tend to use it more when there's one sim in a house rather than a house with four sims. I barely ever use 2.
I don't get why Maxis even made anything other than the color customizable. Still, I'm not sure I'd want a hack to remove it completely... Then again I don't use most of J.M.'s new hacks because they affect my gameplay style.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BFBVFS. Debug options showing up without debug mode.
|
on: 2006 March 23, 06:01:28

Well, there's times that when you use the "Spawn..." action the the debug menu that instead of spawning something it creates an social interaction, but that's only in the family it was created in and it usually has an asterisk before the action. *Talk>Cory's Group Talk for example. Also, the actions tend to not work at all.
I'm guessing that a hack also might have stuck it there when a house was downloaded, but chances are you've already taken the precautions for that not happening in the game.
As for the objects.package being the problem, it could have been possible but OFB does have an objects.package by itself and I doubt OFB really edited those files unless you didn't have NLp2 installed. I don't think it's a BFBVFS, but don't take my word for it.

All that I notice missing is the ripped lip icons, and that you have to remotely link your avatar now. The forum software no longer resizes your avatar since it can't be uploaded so I used a smaller version of an avatar that I had on another site.
I'm surprised it's up this quickly, considering the ETA for the repairs is still 47 years off.

I didn't like that OFB only had one disk. I don't think we'll ever get more than 1 disk anymore since they'll include most of their objects in their donation packs. I might just stop buying TS2 if they keep doing crap like this.
Yeah, I'll just remove those movies the next time I play. That's the part of it that bugs me the most about my new card.

Well, ever since I upgraded my video card to a Geforce 6200 the loading screen has been lagging more and it's not near as smooth as it used to be. It's really noticable in the videos, they're unwatchable in their current state.

|

It's a shame that these elevators don't work properly, a lot of people probably just bought the game to get these elevators. I haven't even used an elevator yet because I find that ranch style homes are much more efficient and are cheaper since you don't have to pay an astronomical amount for an foundation as you would with a real ranch.
Those ascension stairs look like they might work better than an elevator, but I doubt I'll ever use something like that. Essentially, unless you have a load of floors in your house you shouldn't use elevators.
