Predictably, someone had taken a swing at it, the discarded cracked bat having been thrown into the yard. I'll let you figure out what happens when someone takes a swing at a mailbox from a moving vehicle and instead of encountering a soft, yielding aluminum mailbox, strikes hard, unyielding, concrete.
Did they cause themself grievous bodily harm, by any chance?

I couldn't find secuROM under services.msc. I have no idea where \windows\system 32 directory is so I can't look in there for anything.
If you have the patience, just do a search on your computer for SecuROM ('Start <Search). That's how I discovered that I had it.

...how many times are we nominating the baby table?
...how many people need to mention the baby table's previous nomination? ...how many quotes in a row will chain this go? ...how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

With the advent of Bon Voyage, I'm assuming this method can be used to eliminate unneeded tour guides. Would anyone happen to have some advice on how exactly I can know which tour guides I can safely delete without destroying my game?

As for the Ideal PlantSim: it's just like Pollination Technician #9. When a PlantSim spawns a plant baby, half of the DNA comes from the Sim and half comes from the Ideal PlantSim that you never see. That's how Sim Me ended up with a black-haired son (when I have brown hair).

I've been using the no-cd exe you pointed me to, B, and I'm getting strange dialogs from folks on vacation lots, like the tour guides. For example, if I ask for 'the hot spots', the response I get is 'The local hotspots are med?.' And I got a weird response from some other local, too, that had nonsense in the dialog box. Have you seen anything like this? I've had something similar happen. When I would ask a tour guide What's Cool Around Here, he's say something like 'unk' or 'police.' This was fixed when I removed the DMA Teleport objects from my Downloads. Try looking for anything by DMA in your folder.

Are you people all just stupid?
Apparently . For some reason I thought EAxis had been creative and put adventure/puzzle elements into the game. Which... yeah, that was pretty dumb, thinking EAxis would get inventive with gameplay like that. I think they used up all their inventive gameplay initiative on the rumored 'putting souvenirs on the shelf in a certain order does something neat' aspect that I have yet to figure out.

BV has the option (somewhere in the options) to force the clock to 12 or 24 hrs. not sure if that helps any but I thought I would mention it.
That does help immensely! I'll check that out the next time I enter the game. Thanks for the info!

A day's worth of macro-digging yields somewhere between 3-5K worth of stuff on average. Digging is a bit overly safe, due to the lack of Power Lines to dig up. The digging frenzy would probably cool off if I added the ability to find a power line in addition to the water main.
That would be so awesome!
