101  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 World Map? Where? on: 2009 July 25, 21:25:18
I was supposed to get that map with my preorder, but never did, so I appreciate the link to it; however, I can never get jordi's site to load, no matter what time of day or night I visit it (and I keep strange hours). After playing Sunset Valley for a few generations, I've realized that the map is only useful during the first generation or two, anyway. Not having one is no big loss, IMO.

I think that disabling NoFreeJobSkills, and possibly disabling other job-relating options in the config file, will make jobs easier.
103  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Story Mode on: 2009 July 25, 04:52:30
I care. I like your ideas for story progression. Indie works for now, but there are many things about it I don't like.

Same here. I'd much prefer an Awesome version of story progression that, you know, actually makes sense.
104  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 25, 04:31:08
Oops! I thought I'd made an erroneous description when putting that one in the first time. I'll add it back. Thanks!

Edit: It's fixed.
105  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 25, 04:21:05
Italicizing doesn't make things easier to read, but instead distorts the text, making it even more difficult to read. Also, you Italicized all of the text, not just the non-bold text, which was completely unnecessary. Since the command names were already bold, they didn't require anything to differentiate them from the text that was describing them. Bulleted lists eliminate the need for spacing between lines - that's the whole point of using them. You made reading the list even more of a chore by adding weird formatting where it doesn't belong, but this is neither here nor there, because...

I've changed the formatting of the console-commands list, so that the descriptions are indented beneath the command names, making the entire list easier to read. Thank you, Simius, for adding to the missing commands. I slightly reworded a few things, to make them a bit more concise.
106  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 25, 02:35:58
I got rid of the quotes and the italics... Hopefully it is how you had it.  From now on Tenjho needs to get permission from management (you) before doing anything.

Anyway, I added some other commands as well and fixed 1 or 2 typos you had in your commands (such as renamesim should have just been rename).  If I fucked something up let me know and I'll try to fix it.

Ah, that explains why "renamesim" didn't work in my game. Apparently, either I'd written it down incorrectly, or somebody posted it incorrectly. Either way, thanks for fixing it.
107  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 25, 01:07:34
Um, you really didn't make it any easier on the eyes, IMO. By adding unnecessary quotes to the bold text (which is already emphasized by being bold), you made it look cluttered, and by italicizing everything, you've actually made it harder to read. Italics are designed to emphasize certain words or phrases, not the whole damn text field. Why, exactly, did you feel the need to do that? If you really wanted to change the format, to make it more uniform with the rest of the page, you could have simply placed the name of each console command on the first bulleted line, and used indented bullets for the descriptions. I had thought about doing that, actually, but figured that bolding the names of the console commands would be enough. Apparently not.  Roll Eyes
108  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Problem with Awesome and Indie on: 2009 July 25, 00:28:34
Not all jobs require bosses, especially if your sim is at level 10 of a career.
109  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 24, 08:52:02
Hmmm, I'm pretty sure that there used to be a separate configurable option within aweconfig that enabled and disabled the ability for Manual Navigation to decide the most efficient way for a sim to reach its destination. It's entirely possible that my memory is phail, however, and that I'm probably thinking of AthleticAutoSelect. In that case, I'm sorry for jumping on you, Groosalugg.
110  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New peggy hairs. They doesn't replace anything on: 2009 July 24, 07:27:57
I gave up on Peggy's hair after seeing Surelyfunke's bearded sim (or was that Rose's hair). Either way, DNW!
111  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What defines "Growing up well"? on: 2009 July 24, 07:23:24
I'm guessing that good pregnancies and good grow-ups up have more to do with overall mood than anything else. I somehow manage to keep all of my sims "in the bubble" and have never *not* had the option to select traits for spawnlings, at any stage, even when I ignore wants for reading pregnancy books and such.
112  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 24, 07:18:19
Groosalugg: FFS, just disable that option in your aweconfig package if you don't want it in your game. Why did you feel the need to post about it, when you can easily change it yourself?
113  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 24, 06:43:05
I've added the list of console commands to the end of the AwesomeMod information page of the wiki that Kyna posted upthread (it was surprisingly easy), and will be adding the two fire-related commands, like now.

ETA: The list is in alphabetical order, except for commands that just naturally go together, such as addtrait/droptrait, dresser/mirror, etc.

ETA2: Is done!

ETA3: If I've missed anything, let me know, or feel free to edit the page, yourself. You can tell exactly how to format the list by simply looking at previous examples.
114  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 24, 05:35:32
Alrighty, then. I'll take a stab at updating the wiki. I didn't separate the EA debugging commands from the AM console commands when I wrote them down, so there may be some strays that don't belong. I'm sure that somebody will correct me, if I get something wrong.

@Kyna: I do understand that senators have no real power at MATY, but didn't realize that there was only one moderator. I thought rohina was also a mod, but for Retardo Land, which obviously wouldn't have anything to do with the moving of files, etc.

ETA: I'm not exactly sure what "discoinferno" or "trogdorstrikesagain" do, except that they probably involve fire. I'm guessing that the former will set the entire town alight, while the latter will set only a single house on fire. Will somebody please confirm this, so I can add it to the wiki? I'm too chicken to try these commands in my game.
115  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Problem with Awesome and Indie on: 2009 July 24, 05:24:34
Only one suffices - using the ISM settings in-game.  Nothing you set in AwesomeMod will affect ISM's notifications (or any other aspect of ISM's configuration).  So, doing both would not be redundant, and doing the wrong one(setting it in aweconfig) would not suffice.

I really need to stop frequenting (and posting in) forums before I've caffeinated myself. Thanks for clearing that up.
116  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why does slutty slacker grandma get to bring the baby to the cake? on: 2009 July 24, 05:17:05
I agree. That's how it was in TS2. Why EA decided to change something completely sensible into something completely stupid, I'll never know.
117  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 24, 05:11:46
There are moderators here, besides Pescado. I figured one of them could do it. I've never updated a wiki before, and am not even sure how to go about doing so, to be perfectly honest. Also, although I've been lurking here for ages, my post count says otherwise. It just seems disrespectful for an apparent noob to go messing with the MATYwikka. I'll do so once I have permission from someone More Awesome Than Me.
118  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 24, 04:17:10
The MATYwikka and RTFM don't list all of the console commands available through Awesomemod, nor do they go into detail regarding Supreme Commander functions. A thread detailing these things would still be helpful, unless you happen to be psychic.

I didn't say the MATYwikka already had the information.  I said it would "ideal for such a project".  There's no reason people can't go and add their notes to the wiki to help build up a comprehensive page on AwesomeMod.

The problem with a thread for a project like this is that it wouldn't take long before it became another 32-page monstrosity that was impossible to navigate.  Wasn't that one of the problems specified in the OP that this project is supposed to solve?

Ah, that makes sense (my reading comprehension is phail sometimes). I wouldn't presume to be the one to add notes to the Wikka, however, since I'm not yet accepted as one of the regulars here. I'll be happy to list the console commands that I've written down in a forum post, perhaps for approval by management. Once approved, said management can then decide whether to add my info to the Wikka, or not.

Now, that's just bizarre. Seriously, WTF was EA thinking?

Hmmm, maybe it's random per household, then.
122  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? on: 2009 July 24, 03:30:08
I just write down info as I come across it. It's not very high-tech, but it works for me. Still, I agree that a single post or thread, in list format, that's stickied to the beginning of a forum, would be quite handy.
123  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why does slutty slacker grandma get to bring the baby to the cake? on: 2009 July 24, 00:34:43
Yep, it's the oldest female relative who gets chosen for caek duty. The father is the oldest sim in my household, but it's always the mother who caeks the babbys, not the father.
124  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Problem with Awesome and Indie on: 2009 July 23, 01:55:13
You have to either enable story mode notifications via the aweconfig file a la Awesomemod, or you have to enable notifications once you are in the game via the phone a la Indie Stone, or they won't show up.
AwesomeMod's Story Mode notifications do not impact Indie Stone at all. Nothing in Aweconfig has any effect on IndieStone, which is an independent third-party module that uses its own rules.

This is why I used the word "or". It seems that doing one or the other of these things should suffice, but that doing both would be redundant.
125  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: White default replacement of town hall on: 2009 July 23, 00:38:52
@Annika. I really should just learn not to bother opening a thread when I see that you are the last person to have posted in it. Alas, I am an optimist by nature, and still, even after all evidence has shown otherwise, I dare to hope that one day you'll actually have something of value to add. Silly me.

Might I ask what the difference is between Annika's reply and Motoki's?
Not much.

The difference between Motoki and Annika is that Motoki generally posts extremely useful information, while Annika's posts seem limited to "Thanks!" and "Is it fixed yet?" She's been chastised for this before (not by me), yet continues to make meaningless posts that add nothing of value to the threads in which they are posted. It's perhaps a bit more forgivable in this particular thread, since this thread is merely announcing a new download, but in the more technical threads, it gets really fucking annoying. So annoying, in fact, that I can haz instant RAEG when I see one of her posts. Anger management issues on my part? Maybe; maybe not.
