Title: Question about neighbourhoods and maps
Post by: pixxa on 2007 June 03, 01:29:00
Hello. I just made a new custom neighbourhood, and created all characters, but didn't put any lots on it yet so the sims are still all in the sim bin and never been housed. They are only cas families, downtownies and townies. no NPCs were created yet.
I realised [too late] now that the layout of this neighbourhood is no good.
Is there a safe way to move [or copy] the characters in a new neighbourhood? Or to change the map of the existing one?

Either you can use SimPE to clone all the sims and recreate them in CAS in another neighborhood, or you can do terrain surgery to change the terrain.

It should be possible to replace the neigbourhood terrain itself.  I know I've heard that done.

Thank you very much for the link - I was really hoping to find a way to change the terrain. After having spent 2 days making the sims, copying the clones on them, and restoring all the family links etc, just the idea of re-cloning them again made me feel sick. I will do the deed tonight.
