Title: Add Freshness Mod??
Post by: lindaetterlee on 2007 March 31, 06:36:00
Is there a mod to add freshness to a fridge without actually gardening?

Why would you want that?  ???  I really am curious.

I thought maybe omgzwoolprop would do it, but it doesn't look that way.
You can de-bug fill the juicer, but not the fridge.

The real benefit of "freshness" is that it makes food be more filling. Food such as TV Dinners and Lunch Meat Sandwiches actually fill up a Sim.

Then you can use debug mode to fill the juicer, and take the fruit/vegetables out to put them in the fridge...

What exacty does the juicer get filled with? I'm guessing a proportionate amount of each vegetable, or just some random amount.

a certain number of each type available (10 I think) and you get asked for the quality (but the dialog is messed up in french (like mediocre gives you mouthwatering fruits...), don't know if it is correct in english).

I am starting a new hood and I wanted to have a established high end bakery and eatery with characters that I will not be playing but I don't want to spend umteenth hours gardening and creating food just to set it up.

I understand the purpose of "freshness", and what it does very well. I just didn't understand why one would actually want to cheat on that. Gardening and fishing aren't difficult, and much of what the EP is about in the first place. Kind of seems to defeat the purpose. *That* is what I didn't understand.

Edited for clarity.

Edited for being Bitchy to Nec. Sorry.  :(

Yes, I saw that later, but it wasn't in your first post.

I was simply explaining what I meant to Diala, who thought I had no clue about fresh food. I should have typed "didn't understand", rather than "don't understand." In fact, I think I will fix that now. :)

The updated version of Monique's computer on MTS also has the option to "buy produce" in "shop online", apparently. I don't have that version, so I can't tell you if it works, but I thought I'd mention it anyway :P.

Hm, maybe to keep their Sim from frying by sticking to easy-to-cook foods? I wouldn't know, either.

Gardening is fairly easy, yes, but it requires a bit of space and some time. I suppose some people want the game to be a bit easier for them.

You should have my game, then you wouldn't need a mod. All of my fridges have freshness, even ones where sims have never touched fresh produce, much less stocked it. Only time I see no freshness is at a Uni campus.

Edit ~ I find it VERY annoying, I like my sims to be able to eat nice things like salmon. I feel bad for them when they have to live off of mac and cheese because of some stupid bug. Hey, is there a REMOVE freshness mod? It would be cool if the only food that got a bonus was salads....

I second that one. I hate when I have to quard my sims so that they don't eat too much.

Yeah I agree that EA should have adjusted the values for fresh food or atleast put in a safe guard for over eating.

There is noeatcrap. It's getting so annoying I might actually use that. Then again, not having the hack makes excersize important, more realistic. Listen to me all contradicting my own opinions. Next you know, my head will start spinning and I'll breakdance while quoting Pulp Fiction.

Do you have an old version of TJ's Low Food Warnings - Ignore Minis?  There was a bug he fixed with that mod that caused this.
