Just out of curiosity, what are the two new careers?

I would not use those careers. I noticed that the files were massively bloated and so I took a look, and it turns out that they were not correctly retrofitted to function in Real TS2. They WILL barf if you run them in the game.

The CORRECT conversions of items we've done so far can be found here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/lsconv). You will note these are much SMALLER. This is because they have been done correctly, without the garbage data and gone over to make sure everything links up and isn't calling invalid functions. They are still somewhat in testing, though.

Further review suggests more of these crude duplication efforts to produce defective products. Accept only the Awesome!

I'm testing them now

Yay! Thanks Blue ;D

[edit] After testing these items, I have found that they will not show in the lot catalog with just the base game installed, you need at least 1 expansion pack for them to show. Lots of the objects need moveobjects_on to be able to place them, but the sims seem to be able to use them ok. Sorry if someone has already come up with this info.

I have made some collection files for the sets and just plonked others in their own categorys. Place these files in your 'Collections' folder, not your 'Downloads' :) They all have the crappy 'EA' icon.

[edit again] Ok, I've used them in my regular game, and you don't need moveobjects_on to place them! I wonder what weirdness caused that before ???

Thanks Blue (and whoever else if there is a whoever else)!

I need to poke at these and figure out which ones I don't want/need. I'm already exceeding my recommended level of CC in regards to my RAM, and I'm guessing this stuff will count towards CC totals.

Post by: gali on 2007 February 16, 11:16:09
Thank you very much for the cool stuff and the new carreers.

I tested for now only the stuff, and the only object which needs "moveobjects on" in order to be placed is - the wardrobe.
All the remained objects are placed without need of the cheat.

I have TS2, Uni, and NL.

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: Emma on 2007 February 16, 13:55:57
Yeah, I tested it with just Uni and virtually all the stuff needed to be placed using moveobjects_on. In my regular game all the stuff places without the cheat. The only eps I dont have is Pets and the hoilday stuff pack.

Is someone managing to extract that red bed ... the fertlinator?

Did the careers overwrite anything? I've only played to test my custom major since installing and I noticed that when selecting a Maxis major, the two careers with their low-res icons showed up all over the place under "suggested careers"...

this is with the Bluesoup edition, swapping for the Awesome edition as I type this

Majors are dynamic. New careers (EAMaxis *or* custom) are supposed to show there, based on skills.

I, for one, am very happy to have these items, as I am a CC whore, and I tend to like Maxis-made objects for their low poly-counts and their relatively nice textures. I don't touch custom careers, however, because, as someone else mentioned, the new careers and their icons replace the Maxis/EA ones in the selection screen for the Uni majors, and that bugs me. Still, it was very nice of *whoever* did this to extract all these things for public consumption. Many thanks!

What's ridiculous about that? They've done a nice job.

However, this is a bit silly
Quote
REDISTRIBUTION POLICY
DO NOT CLONE and DO NOT REPOST ANYWHERE.

They go on to say they'll change that policy if they don't get told off by Maxis in a fortnight. If they're in a moral quandary maybe they should have checked first, otherwise its up to the downloader I reckon.

They have the fertilinator, am I correct in remember you guys didn't have that one? I'm installing just the "seating" pack in order to get the bed I want, as I already have yours..

Numenors Rugs dont work either. BlueSoups disappered, Numenors  stay visible but have lightning probs and look odd if you stack them.

Post by: jrd on 2007 February 17, 23:44:04
Hmm, the Númenórean ones are recolourable. Do they use the same GUIDs as the MATY ones? If so I am switching.

Yeah the copyright thing is weird. They don't own the items so can't make any statements on copyrights. If anyone were to steal "my" update for the Alienware computer for example, I would be pissed, but can't do anything about it. I don't own the original copyright to the EAMaxis items (neither does Numenor), so I can't make up a copyright statement for it either.
Never mind the fact that the only copyright statement we do have clearly gives it to EAMaxis for not just their own items, but also all deritive works.

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: kuronue on 2007 February 18, 07:29:47
oh, am I testing it? I'll go pop in game then (spent all night working on a movie)

as far as 100% fertility, that doesn't work with normal woohoo, and I do have risky woohoo (I think), no chimes.

So far, 100% of my Try for Babys have resulted in chimes between a married romance and family sim couple (save and quitting after I hear chimes each time). The custom sheets look nice, and animate properly, not like a lot of custom sheets where maxis ones are pulled sort of through the custom ones.

oh, wait, no chimes this time! unless I mistakenly clicked woohoo, but I'm fairly certain I didn't. so, there's not a 100% fertility chance as advertised.

Well now I'm not so sure, I might have clicked woohoo by mistake, since I can't seem to duplicate the nonchime try for baby. Certainly it's difficult to not get pregnant when trying for baby in this bed with a fresh CAS couple, but then, it's always been easy for me to get my sims pregnant (unless it matters).

as far as twins- with the multiple birth odds set to 60/25/10/5, insim reported the first pregnancy I checked using the fertility bed as 2 babies, but the second was 1 and a second female using a non-fertility bed also reported one, so I told both women to give birth, and the fertility bed gave her twins. It's not a very scientific test but that sounds like the same effect as cheesecake, so I'd say increased chance of twins is a probably.

I didn't. I had to scroll back a few pages of bedding but I found the bedding for the thumbnail and a few others (which might have been from other beds I DLd), all with a custom star on them.

I've only used the fertilinator bed in Riley's story.  First time they tried for a baby was unsuccessful, but the second time it worked.  They had twins, a boy and a girl, but I figured that was scripted.  The chapter summary shows her and Mickey each holding a baby, so that's why I figured she would probably always have twins that first time.

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!

It isn't scripted. My Riley had a single girl.

I got his entire set except the careers since I like havng (re-)colour options. They seem to work fine. The rugs look no worse (and no better) than the existing ones.
I haven't tried the fertilizer yet, the coffeemachines work in any case. One difference between the Númenórean and FFS versions is that Numenor's hot tub is a recolour for the existing one, not a separate object. I'm only missing the guitar recolour.

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!

Here is the Guitar recolor I have to mention there is a glitch on the backside but it works fine. Looks like a Map failure on the old Guitar.

...uh, we never got around to doing the hot tub. There is no FFS hot tub. We *DID* do the careers and the two coffee machines, but then everyone else began putting out their own clones so we stopped. Note that the GameDev career reward was a bit tricky to do, and Riley's coffee machine is even trickier to get right with the motive boosts. Numenor certainly has the technical ability needed to do it, but it's also possible he cut corners. Up to you.

You're right, it was one of the people here that did it. I am using your version of the careers, the coffee machine seems to work well in either version.

I'm just curious, if there are problems with the objects, has it been verified?  Do other people get the same problems?  And if so... then why don't people complain to the creators and see if it can be fixed?  I don't mean to be like an asshat, but I'm just wondering why everyone complains about it.  Is it implied that they already did, and the creators are being asshats and ignoring the complains? :P

Everything is working fine for me, including the Numenorian rugs. I have put the careers in, but have yet to see them show up when searching for a job on the computer. I tested the bed myself (thanks anyway kuronue) -and no baby chimes on just woohoo. Sorry to say I think it is just a normal (but expensive!) bed :( I have Pescado's Riley Coffeemaker in my game-works great, much better than the expresso :D I just need someone to make a no automony version cos all my visiting sims flock to it and then leave cos they need to pee!

I have had one sim each reach the top of the new careers. The Entertainment career is like an alternative business career--you get a charisma reward, a teleprompter; the Game Developer career gets you a usable Logic reward, a game console that can be used for entertainment (10 Fun) and/or logic building. In TS2, the game developer gets the Captain Hero uniform; while the Entertainment career (if I remember correctly) gets a dark blue business suit (at least for women); Reggikko says it's the politician suit minus the Mayor's ribbon.

The pay rates are okay but not as high as the Uni careers.

I'm surprised at how expensive the new objects are (§5300 for an espresso machine?). Is the income scale in LS that much greater than that in TS2?

There's part of the picture you're not entirely seeing. All of the LS items are actually "rewards" for progressing in the story, and you receive them for free in the game. It's only if you decide to buy another one that you have to pay that price, which is always incrementally increasing the further along thhe plotline is when you receive it, so the next award is always worth more than the previous, no matter what it is. You don't, however, actually *PAY* for it, and, in fact, it is not possible to apparently acquire these OUTSIDE of the story mode without some severe hacking and chicanery. They are not normally buy-modeable at all!

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: Hegelian on 2007 February 19, 11:36:59
I see! That would explain why in SimPE the objects' names begin with "Reward—". In any case, I changed the price of the coffee maker to §150 and that of the espresso machine to §1000. I've heard rumors that the espresso machine gives an "all day" boost—is there any truth to this? I'd like to set the prices of the coffee machines so that they are commensurate with their in-game benefits.   :P

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2007 February 19, 11:44:48
I thought the default price of the coffeemaker *WAS* $150, at least that's what it says in the Official FFS version, and for $150, it's a Real Steal, considering that it outperforms even the standard issue espresso (less pee, more caffeine). The expensive espresso? Well, it doesn't surprise me that is really expensive, it's part of a very rich plotline where the characters are all disgustingly rich beyond the wildest dreams of a normal sim, so a combination of pointless luxury item / hyperinflation explains that away.

That's why it's best to have content in Malaysia.  ;) This wasn't an accident on Pescado's part. There was no doubt in my mind that EA was going to tell MTS2 to take it down, or that MTS2 would cave, for fear that they wouldn't get invited to the next Fansite Event or something.

Never mind the fact that the only copyright statement we do have clearly gives it to EAMaxis for not just their own items, but also all deritive works.

You didn't read all of his post if you think that his policy on these items was for no reason.  He stated explicitly (in the post that is now gone) that he was restricting the use of these objects because he wasn't sure whether EA/Maxis would let them be posted.  If EA/Maxis told MTS2 to take them down, Numenor wanted there to be no copies of the stuff he converted floating around, so that he could assure the nasty lawyers that it was all gone.  His policy with the stuff he makes himself is much more liberal.

I'm not quite sure I understand the snarky attitude towards Numenor that I've seen many of the people here display.  Yeah, he has a  big ego, but as far as I can tell, it's justified -- he does have skills that most of the community does not have.  Of course, Pescado has those skills, too, but as far as I can tell, no one's ever called HIM humble, either. :-)  Last I heard, he was King of the Lip-Rippers. :-)

I'm grateful that Numenor does what he does and makes it available, and I'm grateful that Pescado does what he does and makes it available (and TwoJeffs and Squinge and Monique and Inge Jones and ChristianLov, etc.).  I'm a shrink, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology will not get a person many programming skill points. :-)

And I guess now I'm grateful for Malaysia. :-)

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: jrd on 2007 February 20, 01:20:43
Chienne: sorry, but that is naive. Either you can claim copyright or not--and since Num doesn't own the original copyright in the first place, he cannot claim further rights on it. You can't say "I will remove it if the owner complains" and follow it up with "this is mine, all mine".

I'm not saying Num isn't entitled to ask for people not to further redistribute his mods, but he has absolutely no way to stop this. The only copyright statement which applies to anything TS2 related is the one that is given by EAMaxis, which specificially claims copyright for themselves not just for their own works, but also all derivative works. This is why paysites have no rights at all (even asides from the issue that their works usually are based on stolen meshes and other people's work -- at the very least they depend on SimPE!).

Num's blanket statement claims full copyright for the entire works, not just his modifications. I am grateful for his work, but I disagree with his copyright statements. Fortunately since we have one from EAMaxis which conflicts with Num's, his copyright claims are invalid.

I'm pretty sure Numenor posts those notices cut-and-paste, plus Numenor is not a native English speaker and may or may not realize how officious and obnoxious the tone of his notices are.

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: jrd on 2007 February 20, 05:50:54
Non-native English is no excuse. English isn't my first or even second tongue, and I catch the smug tone of his posts immediately.
A cut-and-paste notice which is not checked for applicability becomes as meaningless as a forum signature.

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: Chienne on 2007 February 20, 08:10:25
Jordi, you're talking about the letter of the law, and I'm talking about something else.  Numenor did something that he knew might get him in hot water, so he tried to cover his ass by telling people not to use them anywhere else.  Yes, I understand that Numenor does not own the copyright to the stuff, but there's such a thing as moral suasion.  I think you're reading letter of the law while missing intent.

Anyway, I don't intend to argue this anymore; people who have a chip on their shoulder about Numenor can take it up with him, not me.  Not only am I not Numenor, but I don't even play him on TV. :-)

You mean sort of like my notice not to short-circuit, put in backwards, or dispose of in fire? Maybe that's Numenor's signature.

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: KatEnigma on 2007 February 20, 13:08:29
The truth is, Numenor has the right to request anything he wants.  And everyone else has the right to ignore that request or follow it, as they please.  ;) Since it's unenforceable even if he had legal rights to it, let alone without them, why get all worked up about it?

I don't understand the fuss EA made about the published objects, because exactly the published objects made me run to the store and buy Life Stories, when I didn't have any intention to buy this game.

I wouldn't buy the LS,  without testing these objects in my TS2 game.

The furnishing objects were quite ugly and not attractive. But the "present" objects were cool, especially the new statues and the computer. So were the new carreers.

I was quite dissapointed to realize, that I can't use them in LS - only if I get them as a present, and so far I didn't get even one of them. But I enjoy playing the game.

I think Numenor, and the Bluesoup's "hidden" friend, made an awesome publicity   of Life Stories, persuading players to buy the whole game.

Pity that EA management didn't understand it from the first glance.

I've just been playing a new CAS sim on the Entertainment track with no glitches, but I feel like the "flavor text" that pops up when you get promoted is kind of short and simplistic. Perhaps that's evidence of the Sims-Liteness of it.

Oh, and thanks to everyone who made this available!

Thank you guys soooo much for providing the life stories objects and floors too! I love new objects, especially maxis originals!  ;D

I was just wondering if anyone has used the dining tables in University yet? I have noticed that the dorm cook will not clear the dishes off these tables.  Not a really big problem as I don't mind having my Sims do some cleaning themselves, but just thought I would mention this in case there was a code that could be added or adjusted.

Thanks again for your awesomeness!!  ;D

Me too!  The walls for LS are great- they added a bunch of sidings, ones that actually look good.  :o Some of the inside ones aren't bad, either. I don't know why they couldn't give us things this good for TS2 to begin with. Luckily we have people in the community to pillage them for us.

I was only able to extract the first set of floors from the Yahoo group. Sets 2-7 caused a fatal error in ExtractNow when I went to open them. I tried downloading with both IE and Firefox with the same results. Is my extract program being wonky or did the files get corrupted somehow?

I'll look into it.

Do you get the error in other extractors?
if not then your program is borked
Try winrar then come back

I am using Firefox and had to download them all and then start with the first rar file.  I kept getting weird errors when I tried to extract them without having downloaded them all, but I don't recall what the errors said.

I am just curious as to why downloading would be any different using IE then using Firefox on Yahoo Groups.

Also, I didn't see what kind of error you were getting Isz, but I downloaded them all with Firefox, and used WinRAR to extract them.  I extracted each file to it's own directory, but everything went without a hitch.  Were you using WinRAR or something else?

I think it was a case of trying to un-rar them directly from the link rather than downloading to the desktop and un-rarring them there.

If you are having problems with extracting the floor .rar's and don't want to deal with WinRAR, I suggest 7-zip. It's free, easy, and I used it to extract the series so it can do it.  ;D (As a note, I did select them all, right clicked, then used the 7-zip menu to "Extract Here")

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!

Pescado is right.  It is most assuredly a "Dumb Isz-type Problem".  I am using ZipGenius and it sucks.  I get weird errors every so often.  I just wanted a utility that handled both zips and rars.  I didn't like Winrar because it does not allow you to create directories like Winzip does.

Does 7-zip allow you to make the directories you wish to extract the files to?

Title: Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here!
Post by: RainbowTigress on 2007 February 26, 13:06:45
I believe I've been able to create directories with WinRAR.  I forget how I did it, but I can go back and let you know how I did it.  This time I used Extract each file to a directory where it gives each dir the name of the rar file.  I have 7-zip and was using it for awhile until I found it didn't do something I wanted.  I forget what it was now.

With WinRAR if the directory doensn't exist, just type the name in the path field and it will be created for you.

Um, just wanted to pipe in and say that I also had a problem extracting the floor files.  I used ExtractNow, and 7zip, and both times I got an error on all but the first file.  I redownloaded the files, and still had a problem.  May just be me, I will try again.

You can also right click a zip or rar file and choose from "Extract Here," "Extract to nameofarchive/," etc.

I'm looking into the problem as we speak. If I must I will reupload the files. the ones in my folder work but I think the files in part 1 are ok to use but if anyone owns LS and TS2 can they test them out to see if all of them are there.

Edit: You actually need to download ALL of the files and then extract them from rar file 1. remember to put all of the rar files into 1 folder and then you can extract them DON'T extract them via the internet winRAR is your friend and so is saving the RAR file

Seasons doesn't have the Entertainer career, it does have a Gamer career, with a similar job icon but I believe this is different then the Game Developer Career from Life Stories. As far as I can tell it's safe to use all the Life Stories stuff in Seasons, except for maybe the gift box.

The career reward is also different.  In LS you get the gaming system for logic and in seasons you get a pinball machine that can earn you money the longer you play.

Life Stories is Game DEVELOPER, whereas Seasons is Game PLAYER.  I found myself wondering how many ordinary Sims players knew what a Gold Farmer was. :-)  (Yes, I know what one is; helpful people don't have to write to explain it to me.)

Because, if anyone will recall, I was going to do both the walls and floors, but then someone said they were already on it. Knowing how people in the TS2 community freak when they think someone is treading on their turf, I didn't give it further thought (especially since I don't really want to spend all that time doing something so boring). I know that every custom content object has to have a different ID when cloned, but considering the objects & walls from Life Stories are not clones of an existing TS2 object, is there a chance that these objects, floors and walls to have the same ID as in Life Stories ?

I am asking this because I'd like to import all the LS neighs into The Sims 2 (like saraMK suggested) and would be nice for the houses to be not barren or without wallpapers...etc.

Thanks
:)

I would LOVE for someone to package the houses and (especially) the businesses.  I had a day off yesterday, finished the scenarios in SLS *yawn*, and prepared to transport the neighborhoods to TS2 so that I could package all the lots for other neighborhoods.

Wouldn't load.  Kept crashing.  I printed the instructions so that I was sure I was following them precisely.  Nope.  Soooo... I reinstalled SLS, plopped the COMPLETED neighborhoods I  had archived back in so that I could take screencaps of the businesses at least, or draw floorplans, or something...

Only to find that Vince's neighborhood was locked again, and I couldn't get back in without replaying Riley's Story.

Hell no.

So, after several frustrating hours yesterday, I threw up my hands and admitted defeat.  I was toying with the idea of uninstalling Seasons and trying the tutorial again on my next day off, but I don't think I'm quite THAT desperate.

Same here, the Lots would not open importet from LS to Seasons.
But now i have them convertet yesterday in OfB and now they work fine even with Seasons. Should i pack them with  wallpapers and floors applied ? Or is it better downloaders do this themselfes.

;D   Thank you for that info.  I'm not sure how I missed that SaraMK had done that.  Now what would be nice is pictures of inside the various lots for people wanting to match the LS lots perfectly.  Myself though, just having the basic floorplans are enough.  *Presses thanks button for both Rainbow Tigress and SaraMK like 100 times*

I wish that I had more time (and money) to spend on this game.  I'm grateful for the people with the expertise AND for the people who are able to point me in the right direction without pointing out what a moron I am.

(The more I learn, the less I know.)

EDIT: Errrr... could somebody give me a link to aforementioned lots?  I can't seem to find them.  *hangs head*

Okay here is the first part of the LS lots with added Wallpapers and Floors.

You need the Wallpapers and Floors hosted by dewshine in this tread. Dont load the lots whitout them or you lost everything.
The Zip contains only the Lotfiles and another Zip with recolors of the Nightlive Rugs for the LS Rugs and some missing Wallpapers.

My big thanks to dewshine and giggy for the Wallpapers and Floors and to SahraMK for her Tutorial and the extracted Businesslots.

If you have the converted LS Furniture from BlueSoup you will see the Furniture in the Businesslots also, otherwise they convert to some Maxis Furniture used for cloning.

Get The lots here http://www.4shared.com/file/13471923/995b69a2/Rileys_Story_Lots.html (http://www.4shared.com/file/13471923/995b69a2/Rileys_Story_Lots.html)

Crap forgot to add i used Seasons to make the lots if you dont have it use Cleaninstaller to unpack them. And they should work.

Edit: Dont forget the LS Roofs in this tread. You need them also for the Lots.

I've been using the Numenor version of Life Stories, and read about the better Blue Soup, (more nourishing less fat) but realise that Blue Soup has canceled her forum.  Is there any other way to find her version of the stuff?  Or is it in that great garborator in the sky?  I've got the MATY coffee stuff, and don't know if it's gauche requesting stuff from a dead forum so feel free to tell me if it just ain't happening. (Sometimes it seems like the rules are a little random around here, you know?) Thanks.

I think someone already alluded to this, but it's absolutely insane that a good half or more of the walls/floors from Life Stories are better looking than anything included in Sims 2.  I mean wow!  Fantastic!  Some really nice choices.

This is quite a story.    I am still trying with little success to understand the telenovela of Life Stories MTS2: Package Files Unleashed.  Numenor and/or Mary Lou (what did she do?) exhibited EA property, extracted from a new game, inviting the public to view and downlad with delightful results! Straight faced, on a sight that decries any smidgeon of borrowing any material developed by another "artist", there was the guts of the Life Stories, extracted from a commercial project!  Directly opposed to their policy!  Negative attention is better than none, as my adult children always demonstrate.. And it certainly worked!  EA insisted the files be removed, N and M appear contrite, yet have the street cred(?) of having provided us all with sexy (!?) new toys, and the soap opera is well developed with rumor (Blue Soup disappears, her files live on), a Yahoo Group dedicated to the cause and more people than ever interested in the game.  If I was a full blown conspiracy theorist I'd wonder if this was planned as an ad campaign from the beginning...no.  Life is always stranger than fiction.  And thank you to everyone involved in this great story. And in honor of the curmudgeonly request to stop thanking each other-thank you to everyone who has taken the time to say thank you.  Manners, like saying thank you, are what keep us (eventually)  from shooting each other.  They force us to recognise each other as human.  As someone who has been trying to civilise children for 30 years (currently working with grandchildren) saying thank you is a really good place to start.  Sometimes a thank you button is  just not enough.

I'm using your pared down Career and Item hacks, but the game isn't letting me put a LS Career item into a sim's inventory. I pick up the Game Tester's "XBOX" in inventory mode, and it just gives me the descriptive mini-screen, and doesn't do anything when I try to put it in the bag. The other LS Items seem to fit just fine.

One other thing: I tried Skillinating Logic with it, and the sim quits using it after his Fun bar fills, with the Skill icon continually flickering on and off. The sim is a Serious one and always gripes whenever I make him use it, but does fine if I Macro/Concentrate him apart from the Skillinator. Isn't that supposed to happen automatically?

Post by: RainbowTigress on 2007 April 28, 06:27:42
I've not used the Game Tester career reward, but is it on?  When I put computers or stereos in the inventory, I have to have a sim turn them off first or it won't go.

Issue fixed in new version of ls_gamedev.

It is. You mean it doesn't? I thought I added a corrector to it. I'll look into it again.

It's not all.. : for a strange reason, the neighborhood of Four Corners in Sims 2 doesn't look to the Sims Stories: Life....The roads are differents, the bay too...No matter which of N001 or N002, the roads don't resemble to the Sims Stories ones... ???

I imported Vincent Moore into Body Shop last night and packaged him.  I also did Naomi, but I can't remember what her name was before I had her marry Vincent.  Also, I've changed their hair and makeup, but that's not a big deal.  I'm going to try to do some of the others too when I get the chance and upload them somewhere to be determined later.  I would like to recreate Vincent's neighborhood in TS2 and play them there.

Why do they change any names? That has to be the most idiot thing Maxis ever did, especially since it opens the door to all those issues people have installing SPs that change the names of their existing sims. Leave names alone! Vincent and Riley aren't extremely common names here, either. Used...sure...but not even as much as Michelle.

Not exactly : Riley , for example is not a French name, so it's understandable that EA France want make a change for it....Think that French can't spell easily english words..Riley would be pronounced "ree-lay", for example...yet, it's not a common name at my place and it doesn't exist in France, excepted with some people liking englich/american names and giving these names to their children. However, Vincent or Lucas are common.
