So the LTW memory token was having its owner changed? What would happen to that other sim's LTW then?

Title: Re: Woohoo LTW Fix
Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 December 06, 17:11:51
Nothing. The other sim would just receive the memory token of "Woohoo with X sims" instead of the sim that actually got the LTW.

What was actually happening is that a garbage value was passed, which, if corresponding to a valid NID, caused that NID to get the memory. I discovered this oddity when Gilbert Jacquet's woohoo LTW memory ended up on a random toddler, which made my scratch my head. So I ordered an investigation into it, and this is what we found.

The LTW could potentially fill itself through townies, for instance, resulting in a random sim receiving a memory.

Does it also fix the exploit of public woohoo with a previous partner counts again?  Two woohoos for one memory?  It's a nice little exploit, but it would also be nice to have more of a challenge.

This sounds like a dangerous situation.  I have not observed it myself, but I have several sims in my older Pleasantview who have achieved this LTW.  I need to go see if they actually received the proper memories for them.  :P

I didn't even know there was a separate memory for this, but I would have been disturbed to find it in a toddler.

No, that's a seperate, unrelated issue, one that doesn't have an obvious method of resolution in TS2.

Well... how about adjusting the BHAV that count's the memories, and then store the nID of the other sim, either in an array, or just have 20 locals declared... then while iterating through the memories, make sure that each nID is unique. If it a new id, push onto the array or store in a local, then iterate and compare subsequent ids to those already in the array or already stored in locals, if new then push/store, else ignore and loop. Doable?

I think the same thing gets exploited with 20 best friends and with the influence meter. I'm pretty sure I had a sim fall out of friendship once with a sim... and then regain that friendship, causing their influence meter to expand. :P

If this is doable, you could probably also modify the check for businesses, so they actually have to be unique business lot ids.

I'm pretty sure the influence meter is ok.  If the Sim has exactly the minimum number of friends for a certain "level" and loses one, the meter shrinks.  If the friend is regained (or another made), the meter expands again.

I've seen the same thing, miros.  I've even seen it go up and then back down right away because the sim was right at the threshold, and the sim talked about something the other one didn't like causing them to lose that friend for a few moments.  :P

The public woohoo exploit I'm not so worried about, because for me, I rarely go to community lots and it takes so long to load them that it's not worth it unless I'm already at one that has a photo booth.  Otherwise, it's not really worth loading one just for that.  It seems to me that woohoo in a hot tub in a club should qualify as public woohoo.  The sims shoo the others out of the hot tub, but they don't care if they stand outside and watch them.  ::)  I think it would be pretty obvious to everyone around what's going on, especially with all the diving and splashing.  :P

I'm pretty sure "woohoo in hot tub" counts as public woohoo on community lots.  Not sure about car woohoo on any lot or home hot tub woohoo.  Has anyone seen a definitive list of what's public vs non-public woohoo?

The funniest thing I've ever seen was when Allegra and her boyfriend were getting it on in their on-campus house and the cheerleader came right in the room and started cheering.  Talk about performance pressure!

That happened to Kevin and Tiffany at the frat house when they were woohooing in the hot tub in the back.  :P  She got zapped by TJ's VC.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't, since I use the photo booth to fulfill the public woohoo want and the hottub to fulfill the woohoo on the same community lot during dates in order to exploit the big mentioned.
Only changing booths, photo booths and elevators count as public.  And elevators are bugged, so only the person initiating the woohoo gets any fulfillment.

Please stop spreading that myth. Tub woohoo is NEVER public woohoo.
For public woohoo it is not the lot type which counts, but the object it is done in. An elevator or photo booth at home still works for public woohoo.

Not for me it doesn't. Home photo booths count as regular woohoo.  :(

I haven't noticed them getting a memory for public woohoo in the photo booth at home either.

photobooth counted as public woohoo at home the one time I tried it (can't remember if it was pre or post OFB

Haven't tried it since pets (at least).

Title: Re: Woohoo LTW Fix
Post by: jrd on 2006 December 08, 08:29:16
In OFB at least it is public.
Not yet tried with Pets at home lots, just at dorms (where it is public).

before Pets, sometimes on a home lot with a photobooth it counted as public woohoo and sometimes it didn't. I think it may have depended on who else was on the Lot at the time.

Maybe "public" refers to people standing around cheering?

I just wish I got this LTW.  I'll DL the hack anyway, but it doesn't come up ever as an LTW in base+OFB.  Considering it exists in base+NL I think that's bizarre, but I'm told - tough.

I thought public woohoo occurred when someone was present in the room/area as woohoo intiated. The problem with it is sims will usher other sims out of the area before woohoo is performed.

Title: Re: Woohoo LTW Fix
Post by: jrd on 2007 January 09, 00:29:00
Nah, "public woohoo" just depends on what object the woohoo is done in. Beds, tubs, and cars are private — clothing booths, photo booths, and elevators (I think) are public. The lot type and presence (or lack of) other Sims does not seem to matter.

Photobooths don't count as public unless it's not on a residential lot. Dorms may qualify as public, but this is uncertain. The photobooth normally has to be on a community lot to be public, even if the lot is deserted.

Title: Re: Woohoo LTW Fix
Post by: V on 2007 January 09, 03:24:13
Is that new? I am sure that I have fulfilled public woohoo wants by having them use the photo booth on their own lot. But I don't remember doing it since Pets.

Title: Re: Woohoo LTW Fix
Post by: jrd on 2007 January 09, 08:16:27
Ditto. Sounds like a good change. Dorms count as public then I think, otherwise I can't explain my Sim's new spouse's memory.

Title: Re: Woohoo LTW Fix

The photobooth counts as public woohoo on the home lot in my game, but the 'public woohoo with 3 different sims' want isn't fulfilled by using it at home. You have to travel to a community lot to get that specific want filled. I have had 'public woohoo with 3 different sims' and 'public woohoo' in my sims want panel at the same time and only the 'public woohoo' want was fulfilled even though it was the 3rd different sim he had woohooed with in the photobooth. I don't have Pets though.

I'm pretty sure Dorms do not count as public. I recently played a sim that I bought a double bed in the dorm and he woohoo'd a couple of times, but no one reacted as if it were public. And no public woohoo memory.

Back in the very early days, I had woohoos on a community lot not count as public woohoo and vice versa.  I was playing a romance sim at the time and he put in a lot of effort while I tried to work out what counted as what.  I've assumed the whole thing was messed up from way back then.

Title: Re: Woohoo LTW Fix
Post by: miros on 2007 January 16, 23:39:17
The thing is, you'd have to woohoo with a different Sim each time to increase the count for "public" vs "total" woohoos.

That doesn't mean anything.  Woohoo in beds and hot tubs is never public, even if it's on the front lawn of a family restaurant on a community lot.

Title: Re: Woohoo LTW Fix
Post by: RainbowTigress on 2007 January 23, 20:26:22
I had two romance sims on a residential lot woohoo in the photo booth.  They had woohoo'd together before.  One had a want for public woohoo.  The other had a want for 3 public woohoos.  Neither had a memory for having public woohoo before with each other.  I had them woohoo in the photo booth at their home, and although others came running over, they neither one got a memory for it, but the one got their want satisfied for public woohoo.  The other didn't get satisfied for 3 public woohoos even though I had her woohoo with another sim right after that.  She only had one public woohoo memory, so therefore two more should have done it, but it didn't.  I didn't feel like loading up a community lot then.  But I figured it was borked also.

As far as community lots go, only the photo booth and clothing booth count as public woohoo.  They can woohoo in a hot tub and that doesn't count.  I put a bed on the roof of a club, and that doesn't count as public either.  They will shoo everyone off before they proceed.

I put a bed in a courtyard on a community lot once, I thought that would count as public woohoo if nothing else did - but same as rainbow, my sims wouldn't perform.

I could *swear* that I once had Daniel Pleasant woohoo with Kaylin Langarak (sp?) in a community hot-tub and it fulfilled his public woohoo want, but that was with only the base game, and it was a very long time ago, so my memory could be faulty.

It seemed like I did that once before in the base game also, but somewhere between Uni and NL, they changed that, I think.

I seem to remember that being the case in the Base Game Prima Guide as well. I can check when I get home.

I could have sworn that photobooths counted as public... unless something changed again between OFB/FFS/GLS and zOMGPETZ? ??? But the past few days that I've been playing in dorms, my sims were not having public woohoo wants satisfied by photobooth woohoo at dorms.

I checked their memories, and I know that a few of them actually did have memories of public woohoo before... but now I can't remember if they were at comm lots or dorm lots. I suspect that they were comm lots, because I almost certain I have a vague recollection of being able to satisfy public woohoo wants at dorms using photo booths... but I very well could have just imagined that. ::) I'm pretty sure tho that it used to be possible, because for the most part, I didn't really make my sims go to comm lots much. It was often too much of an effort to go to a comm lot, and I only did so if I wanted to buy something or needed to meet some ss members or what not.

I recently posted in the ACR thread, because I was wondering if maybe it was only casual woohoo that wasn't generating public woohoo memories and/or satisfying public woohoo wants, but I just tried again last night, on a different dorm, and both regular And casual photobooth woohoo did not count as public woohoo.

I think that public woohoo should always count if done in a public place. I wonder why they changed hot tubs? I think that... regardless of object, whether it be a photobooth, hot tub, or car, it should count as public woohoo if done in public. duh. :P I guess dorms might be considered "private" - perhaps the code tests if the lot is "liveable" or what not. Even if the building is private, I would still think that doin it in a photo booth (or the living room couch) should be considered public. Especially if other people can run up to whistle and hoot and holler at you afterwards or sit right next to you while you're doin it. ;D

They changed hot tubs? when!? Dammit, that means the Lulu Lounge is no longer the perfect romance sim date place... I would always go there so they could dance like the other sim inevitably wants to, and there's enough toys to keep even a pleasure sim happy, plus the night would always end with hottub woohoo. But if it's not public anymore...

It's not just you.  I don't recall specifically that it was public, nor do I recall that it never was. *shrugs* I was just going by what other people have claimed, because I never really paid attention all that well, and I didn't really explore things with just the base game.  I think I barely had the base game installed when Uni came out pretty shortly thereafter.

Heck... I can't even remember now whether the public woohoo memories that my sim's have were from photobooths actually at comm lots or dorm lots... I could have sworn they were from dorm lots... but now I'm not so sure. :P

I remember that the hottub on a community lot was sometimes public in base game.  My romance sim spent a lot of time trying to acquire public woohoo memories.  Now I may also be a victim of early Alzheimers too, but I played with base game only for a lot longer than most of you guys - right up til OFB came out in fact.  Something changing between EPs sounds convincing to me - maybe they fixed that "sometimes" to never rather than always.
