You can't link from your desktop, silly. You have to upload it somewhere. That's the entire point of Imageshack.

Try www.tinyurl.com for uploading images. It might work a bit better.

Try photobucket.

Could very well be. How the hell do I get these images OUT of the mac and ON to forums?

There's lots of methods, but I think the easiest one for you is "magic".

Title: Re: OK you huge-brained awesome folk
Post by: Myth on 2006 October 30, 00:27:35
have you tried making an account and hitting the upload button and then getting the tag?

Post by: Venusy on 2006 October 30, 00:31:18
Once you've uploaded your files to Photobucket, click on the "Img" field (the one that starts "[ IMG]", minus the space), go to Edit (or the Mac equivalent) and click on Select All. Then go back to Edit and select Copy. Then, when you want to use the image on the forum, simply select Edit then Paste.

Are you seeing this at photobucket (with your own picture, of course :P)

If so, are you copying the IMG one and pasting it directly in your post? That's how mine is showing up.

(Edited to put the correct photo in, and not just a random pic of a toilet.  :-X)

Post by: Motoki on 2006 October 30, 00:47:22
Damn Brynne, you keep showing that toilet. Now I'm going to have to go run and get it. Is it from TSR? And if so is it on you know where? lol

MTS2, I think, LOL. It's from "Bathroom set 01 by Solander"

It was the latest pic I had.

And Ayslhyn, this is what my last post looked like as I entered it:

ETA:

Motoki, it's at both TSR and MTS2, part of a set.

TSR:

MTS2:

That might be the problem. It won't let me  cut and copy. I just get a blank after cutting and the copy dosen't work

Ok, time for the short course in the Real Difference Between Mac and Windows.

Macs were made to run without a keyboard.  Windows was made to run without a mouse.

Ponder this thought, and all will become clear...

Hmm, so much for his comment about the set being exclusive to MTS2. I guess TSR threw some money at him.  ::) Oh well, at least they didn't make him take it down.

Now, now people.  Lets not persecute the Mac here.  They're very good and powerful computers that can do anything you PC can.

But this poor Mac has obviously caught a PEBKAC virus.  All we can do is hope for the best...

How many "miserable sods" and "misogynistic excuses" are there here, anyway? Strictly speaking, though, misogyny is an inaccurate description of what I do. I'm not discriminatory. I'm an equal-opportunity misanthrope. If you show weakness, I make fun of you.

To be honest, I'm not really too attached to that side. I kinda vomit bile in the eyes of those who complain that I should try to be more human. I'm working on splitting off to become a seperate species.
