Title: Body Shop and Hidden Skin Tones?
Post by: tIIsuggas on 2006 August 25, 13:44:35
Is it possible to get the hidden skin tones to show up in Body Shop?

IE:  Vampire, Alien etc.

Would this work.

Access hidden skins in CAF.  Make vampire, alien etc.  Move sim to a lot.  Upload to exchange.  Download back again.  Hidden skin would then be accessible in Body Shop?

*off to try.

UPDATE

Doesn't work, only alien and zombie shows up.

I don't think so, just as the vampire overlay doesn't appear when you clone a vampire sim.

What you can do is to extract the skin's PropertySet definition (SkintoneXML), which is stored in the Skins.package file, change the flags value to zero, and save it to a new package in the Downloads folder.

I've never done it this way, so I hope you can tell me if it works  ;D

Lets hope someone else does that, and lets us both know how they did it.

Vampire is not a skintone, it's a form of full-body makeup.

... and there's no way to select in in BodyShop, even if cloning a vampire sim.

However, the vampire mask can be removed if you click the "clear" slot in the full-face makeup section.

Edit:
Setting the flags value to zero it's all it takes for the Zombie and Alien skins to appear in the game catalog :)

Although the vampire overlay isn't a skintone, there's an odd SkintoneXML entry named "Vampire", probably a left-over resource before it was categorized as a texture overlay.
