Title: Anyone else using Sims 2 Categorizer?
Post by: idtaminger on 2006 August 23, 01:30:56
I'm having problems with it, and I would've asked at SimWardrobe, but there's no contact info whatsoever on that site.

Everytime I try to delete a recolourable object, the program says "checking for recolours", and then freezes. I've tried letting it run for a while, but it just stays frozen.

Has anyone been able to successfully use this program? It seems like a pretty good idea really, if only it would work. :(

How big is your downloads folder?  :D  It takes forever for it to hunt for recolors on mine 2 but it does eventually delete the object.  But to make time go faster for me, I have my downloads folder open as the program is open and delete the files manually, and then refresh the program.  Works find like that for me.  I don't think there is a way to by pass the "searching for recolors" thing.

Hmm. I'll bet that's it, as my d/ls folder is gigantic. 6.5 gigs.  :-[ But I'm really making an effort to trim it down.

I am the queen of impatience and that program runs way too slow for me. I tried doing it like rome_raven, but everytime I open a folder on top of that one it crashes.

I haven't had too many problems with it, but I am very careful to put stuff in their own subfolders before trying to open it in that program.

I'm still hoping someone makes a program like that for clothes. :)

I'm certain that someone said there was already a clothing catergoriser in the pipeline... That will be a very nifty little tool for getting rid of all the lame stuff I've got hanging around in my downloads folder.  :)

Title: recolors with no meshes
Post by: OpiumGirl on 2006 September 25, 23:50:02
i'm wondering if it's possible to find recolors that don't have meshes...searching the threads on sims 2 categorizer yielded no results on this.
when the sims 2 first came out, I had no idea that you had to first delete all recolors to get rid of everything connected to the object mesh.
so, i'm guessing that i have a bazillion unconnected recolors now, lol.  ::)
can anyone suggest what i can do to find these, either by using sims 2 categorizer or another method?
it would slim down my downloads folder by quite a lot, i'm guessing!  :D
it'd be great to get anyone's input on this.
thank you kindly!
