Title: Skins, Eyes, Hair, etc...
Post by: Hei_Chavorale on 2006 July 27, 18:17:49
Does anyone know any good custom skin sites? I want to get eyes, hair, and skins for both females and males of all ages. Anything would be appreciated  :D

There's the obvious, MTS2 for a mixture of both good and not-so-good (but hey, it's better than anything I can make).  Haelene's seems to be a favorite.

I use a skintone from Rensim on my self-sim, and I love it. Not too shiny or oily looking. It looks odd on the guys, though. I think you have to create the sims AROUND a lot of these custom skintones because they all have different shading, etc. If you just switch skintones, sometimes things look a little "off".

This is sim Brynne (v5, now available for download, here) with a rensim skintone :

Lin at ShinySims did a remake of the Louis skin that is fabulous.  I personally use RenSims defaults at the moment.  I also think her eyes are to die for..well not literally. :P

Thanks alot! I can't wait to download new skins. I especially love seeing what looks good on the sims I create and how their kids turn out.
For those who love eyes... http://www.simmetrical.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1
check out that site, they have violet colored eyes. Lots of their eyes look incredibly real. The only thing I don't like is you have to download each individually and they have little for male sims. No hair for them  :'(
Thanks Again!

Lyran (http://www.lyran.net/ts2/) is one of my favourite sites for skintones and eyes. She does some nice recolours of popular meshes* too in ash blonde, mahogany red and a light brown colour. Gorgeous makeup too! ;)

[edit] *I mean hair meshes :D Silly me.

Lyran is my fave for skins. She's tied for fave with garnetrising at MTS2 for eyes.

Have shiny sims changed their site? For me it is always 404'ed. A google churned up no useful info either.

This is sim Brynne (v5, not the one available for download, here) with a rensim skintone :
Well, then, why have you not given us a new upgraded Sim-Brynne? And how does this Sim-Brynne differ from the last edition?

Sim Brynne v5 is available on my forum. :P

She's got new custom skin, new hair (which changes daily because of video-making), but more importantly, her facial structure is tweaked.
I guess I could update her, here, but I wasn't sure people were still updating their sims.

Yes, but where is it? Is it the same as the last time you updated Sim-Brynne, or is this a new one? Is there a Brynne-upgrade-mode package?

It's in the same place as the last sim Val/Brynne was updated. I just changed the files at CJ. CJ Swag, pinned, first post.

ETA:

I updated Sim Brynne in Made Up Animals.

I like Enayla's skins for a new default set. You can get her stuff at modthesims2.com

For hair I suggest Seomi from the same site.

Peggy at peggy2sims.net and xmsims.com

This is so great I even hit "Thanks" a couple times.  :P
I have been wondering about that skintone since I joined CJ the other day but kept thinking I'd look around some before asking. I was about to break down and ask when I stumbled across this thread. I never would have found it on my own. I am so glad there are people around who aren't afraid to ask questions or I'd probably never find anything out.

BTW is that the same as the one your avatar sim is wearing? If not what skin is she using?

It is so hard to find ones that aren't to shiny looking (odd highlights etc.) or Way to realistic (I don't need to see their pores) for my taste.

Glad I could be of help!
My avatar was using the Paradise default skin (from MTS2, I think???).

I prefer RoseSims (http://www.rosesims2.net/) to Peggy
Seomi (http://seomi.zzo.net/) also has her own site
Another site with interesting eyes is pimp-my-sims (http://www.pimp-my-sims.com/index.php?id=27)
Neptune Suzy and Grizzelda's hair is fanastic here (http://www.ts2creations.com/)

I hope no one minds if I post a request here, but it isn't too off-topic to this. I am looking for this mesh (http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/sets?ID=290832). Helaene (http://www.helaene.com/hv12index.html) has a wonderful recolor for it, but you know TSR is not free. Feh. Anyone happen to have it?

Yesssh, that's some big hair.

It is. I don't care for the original coloring all that much, but the recolor of it is just what I need for a Sim project I have in mind.
