Title: Getting badbirths, no idea why. Anyone willing to look at the error log for me?
Post by: Ndainye on 2006 March 29, 07:23:39
In my legacy neighborhood I've been getting bad births for the last few days.  It started after I had a problem with a joined union and I installed same sex marriage and pregnancy for all.  I've since removed those two but I'm still getting the bad births, so I don't believe that the problems are related to those.  I downloaded clothing, hair and some skins at about the same time that the bad births began but none of the sims that are having problems are using any of my new downloads.  I tried installing the badbirth fix but it didn't help with this problem, I have been able to fix the births by working around them with insim to delete mother and baby boy/girl then restoring family and forcing a pregnancy transistion (get pregnant abort pregnancy) and naming baby.  I've had the problem in three seperate houses now and it's irritating to say the least.

OMG it's Hax!!!!!oneoneone :P

Heh. Sorry... couldn't resist. But... yeah, it is most likely a hack, as I could not find

this particular BHAV. Most likely something non-awesome? *shrugs*

I even looked in the Cinecam BHAV, and there is no line that goes to this non-existent 'AbductionPregnancy' BHAV. If you have anything related to pregnancy or alien abduction, I would remove it.

Whenever you get bugs like this, the best thing to do first, is always test if it is due to your custom content. So... disabling all your hacks first with S2PCI or just moving the Downloads folder out temporarily, loading your game up, and then seeing if you still have the problem should be your first attempt. If you don't get the problem, then it is most likely a hack and it is up to you to find out which one. :P

Thank You Syberpunk!

I didn't think I had any new hacks showing up on my sp2ci which I had previously checked.  I ended up removing an old file AbductionPregnancy-Animations.pkg which I know I've had for a long time I'm just not sure what it was originally attached to.  I also removed some custom skins from a site that I wasn't familar with and between the two the birth problem seems to be fixed.   Most likely it was the old file, but like I said I know I've had it for a long time.  I'll replace the skins later to test them but I doubt they were the problem.

That AbductionPregnancy-Animations hack was a very old hack, most likely by almecho from MTS2. It was supposed to enable the cinematic for alien pregnancies all the time (at leat I think so). But after NL (I think), it was pretty much discontinued due to some changes in the code. It caused major problems, just as you are experiencing now. I'm surprised you've had it in for so long and didn't have any problems before? Unless you only recently installed NL?

Anyways. Whenever you get new EPs, I highly suggest rooting through all your hacks and making sure they are compliant with the latest EP that you have. :)

Clearly, it is caused by something non-awesome. More Awesome Than You is not responsible for problems caused by non-awesome hacks. Remove the offending non-awesome product.
