Title: Playing IP, my game run jerkily
Post by: phoenixc on 2013 July 13, 15:19:14
After installing IP my game has jerky animation.
With mods or without mods, I have jerkily animation.
If I play another world (Evansdale County, large map, all EP including IP) the game has a good fluidity.
On IP I don't play and I don't have any customs sims...

Before installing IP my game had a fluid animation no mather the world.

I tried to play with a clean sims 3 folder and the game has the same jerky animation.
Every minute it freeze for 4-5 seconds. It gets annoying.

If we talk about computer, I have an I7 processor, 4 GB RAM (playing the game arrive at 70% charge), 1 GB video (NVidia GeForce recognized by the game)… It' s happen only to me?

No, it happened to many people.

Is your sound wrong? Can you see boats and jetskis on the road?

You need to update to the latest test Awesomemod to fix the jerky animation.

I never used Awesomemod.

I never used Awesomemod.

Blasphemer.

You might be at the lower range of a good computer system? Not sure.  I got a new shiny computer and filled it with butt loads of CC and I had jerky, choppy movement in IP, but it runs great in other worlds. I have not tried IP since all of the mods have been updated most recently.

IP world is stupid anyway. Takes you 3 days just to get anywhere.

I hope it was a joke... and our post it's not an answer to my question...

Yeah I'm not sure I understand exactly when your game runs like crap and when not, but here's the correct install order of expansions / stuff packs, bad install order (and human stupidity) are the no.1 cause of game cancer in the Sims world.

1. Base game.
2. Pre-Generations base game updates.
3. Pre-generations expansions.
4. Pre-Generations expansion updates (YES ALL OF THEM).
5. 1.55 mega-update.
6. All the other overpriced expansions.
7. 1.55 mega-update AGAIN.
8. Crack (if needed) (and if not needed, fuck you)
9. Awesomemod, Errortrap, Overwatch and Traveler.

If you followed these steps and your game still runs like crap there are only two possible solutions:

A. Remove most or all mods.
B. Get a better fucking PC or learn to maintain your current one.

Sorry that's how it works :3 There is no miracle solution for PC performance. Game Booster helps a bit if you're too lazy to close the background processes yourself but not that much.

Hope I helped. And if not, I don't care.

@eurotard,
may I know what forum you help at or blog you write? So I may block it from ever entering my hemisphere in case I click the link by mistake. If anyone follow that 9-step reinstall trash, you're even dumber than the tard that comes up with it.

Install EPs and SPs in order - each one patches the previous. Sims wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims_3#Expansions.2C_Add-ons.2C_Editions) has the order. Don't worry about the SPs so much, but for EPs it seems to work better in the right order.

Use global patch 1.55

Use a crack OR Awesomemod OR your CD/DVD. (OR whatever Twallan's CD mod is).

Play game.

Post by: phoenixc on 2013 July 15, 14:41:24
so...
1. All my EP and SP are buyed.
2 All EP and SP was installed in order and patched in order.
3 I use Twallan mods: Register, Overwatch, ErrorTrap, Career, all of them updated.
4 All my others mods from Shimrod, Toftmama and Bluejintsu are updated and tested with Dashboard.... no conflict.
5 My computer is strong and I can use " More Fluid animation" for powerfull systems (my game is in Italian) -  option.

I must repeat: Only in Island Paradise town the game run with jerkily animation.... On all other intalled worlds (EA and custom world) I have fluid animation...

Now it's clear? So...I repeat the question: It' s happening only to me?

@Eurotrash
be kindly and do not answer more in this thread.... or I fuck you (using your expression). You are so aggressive without any reason.

That tard who doesn't bitch about technical issues all the time cause he doesn't have them*

I'd rather curse at EA for stuff they actually suck at, not their idiot customers' fails.

Yeah well like it or not that's the most help you're gonna get here buddy. Why aren't you asking this crap on ModTheSims? That seems more like your kind of place.

so...
1. All my EP and SP are buyed.

Then again, why not the Sims 3 forums? I'm sure EA would love to help you.

No, it is not only happening to you. BUT, since test Awesomemod was updated, and boats cannot go on the road now, most people have stopped complaining. If you have updated Twallan mods, try with a new game, maybe the old game is broken.

8. Crack (if needed) (and if not needed, fuck you)

If you are using a crack, you are doing it wrong. Why don't you fuck off, and stop giving out WRONG information.
MATY does not support the use of cracks with TS3. EVER.

I think it may be getting close to DOMEing time for you.

When you say a new game, it means a new clean Sims 3 folder? or only the option: start a new Island town? (with a new saves game). Because both could be a new game.

Try a new world first and see if that works. IP doesn't have the best routing, probably the worst out of all the EA worlds.

I'm pretty sure phoenixc said the other worlds were OK. I would try a fresh game of IP.

Just load the game, go to the main menu and start a new IP game, phoenixc.

I tried.... I believe skadi is right .... If routing has to do with the continuity of the animation then it means that it is the IP town fault.
Using doesn't mather what boats on a custom world, the moving has continuity.... all the sim animation has continuity...

By the way, my boats never did go on the field or on the road...

Conclusion: Island Paradise disappointed me with animation parameters.

Yuck! Definitely no licking. I bet he doesn't shower regularly enough for licks anyway.

I wonder though... Eurotrash is arrogant, gives bad advice, and is somewhat shouty about it.  Something seems familiar.

Have you tried removing the school/sports arena and replacing it with two separate buildings? Apparently that building is causing a whole lot of problems and some of the problems clear up when the building is deleted and two new buildings added. Of course the routing issues aren't solve, but it might help with the animation.

I will try... Nothing to lose. I hope that will improve the game.

The stuttering reminds me strongly of the problems in Shang Simla, where sims have massive problems to get to The Hot Springs and Dragon Springs. Setting those lots to "No visitors allowed" usually solves it. There have been reports (http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2013/06/routing-issues-in-the-resort-hobarts-hideout.html) about routing issues in the Hobart's Hideout resort, which might be the cause for the jerkiness of IP. You could try the solution from Cincrit's blog, tear down the resort or just change the lot type.

I read Cincrit's blog .... I will try even that... Maybe is better delete all and rebuild the city.... :D

If you don't care for the EAxian townies, there's no need to delete everything. It's enough to remove all sims from the island because no-one trying to go anywhere = no routing problems. You can get rid of them with "therapture" (Awesomemod). That's what I did, et voilà - no more jerkiness. Some NPCs got generated anew to fill the various roles (stylists, consignment store clerks, paper 6s etc.), but the frequent stuttering is nothing compared to what it was when I started out with an untouched IP.
You'll need Awesomemod for this, obviously ;).

To remove all the townies I don't need AM. I can evict and delete them on edit towns ... So, I will be alone in the town... my sims and maybe some NPC... no one as neighbor... no social life... I don't know, I don't like to live alone...
It's true that too much movement in the background leads to jerky game, but....

Maybe a modder can repair the routing on town...

I started a new game, I decreased the levels of options, I have enabled the option for fast systems and found that disruptions have dwindled. The animation still has a few problems, but it's better anyway, it has more fluidity.
I am so confused because I do not find a final solution...

I play sims since sims1 appeared, but it is the first time that the game is below my expectations from the technical point of view.

But you *are* aware that with Awesomemod, it's just one entry into the cheat panel instead of evicting every single household, right?

Heh, for me, that's an added bonus - no stupid ass townies to annoy my loner sims :P. But hey, if you want to keep them, have it your way.

I found IP as empty world. My question is: routing is something else than rebuilding on the empty existing lots?

Yes, routing is also how the sims get to the lots, empty or not.  In a world with bad routing, sims will get stuck while on their way to a lot.

If it takes some time before your game starts running jerkily, then resetting all the sims in the world will help for a while.

Twallan's Overwatch helps a lot.  It performs a stuck check every night and resets all stuck sims.  You can also perform the stuck check manually at any time if your game starts bogging down before 3AM.
