Awesomemod can be rather difficult to set up properly.  There's an excellent guide available here (http://goatse.info).

That's the guide I used too. I found it really helpful too.

Why, oh why did I click that link?

Make sure the version of Awesomemod you are using is the right one for the patch version you are on.  If you are fully up to date, 1.32, then you will need the test version from here: [REDACTED]

I know this is a silly question (but you did say you were a newbie) - have you extracted awesomemod out of the zip file before putting it in the mods/packages folder?

We don't give out the link for the test version on purpose, ass.  That is per Pescado.  Quit enabling tards and whiners.

You will want to remove it from that quote, then.

Then perhaps you should have started by reading the MATY FAQ before posting.

Wow what a bunch of assholes.

You made the username "matysucks" for what reason, exactly? Are you that retarded, or just a liar?

I think it changed its display name after Jeebus and I helped it, but before Trickleonthebum decided to be a Tard Enabler again, some more.

The current release of awesomemod is for 1.29 afaik, you likely either have the latest 1.32 patch or you haven't updated your game since who knows when.  You will get an error when you start up until awesomemod is updated for your patch level, which could be days or weeks.  As a general rule, it's usually advisable to wait until mods are updated before patching, or at least read the documentation to determine which patch level the mod is for.  Or, you could search more(I suggest site:moreawesomethanyou.com on google) and figure out where to find what you need.  People on this forum aren't going to hold your hand, as you've noticed the general culture is that of a bunch of assholes. ;)

Or this might not be your problem at all, but since you didn't provide any useful information about what error you received in the body of your post I can't really help you there.

Why are you helping it at all? Do you understand the asshole policy?

Wow what a bunch of assholes.

I like that this is its response after being goatsed a time or two.  Anger makes it oddly literal.

How alarming, now it seems that matysucks is banging its head on its keyboard it won't be too long until its head explodes.

It changed its name again? We should kill it with fire before it assumes a new identity!

Also, are we to assume that it no longer believes MATY sucks?

The awesomemod thread is a bit messed up at the moment so the Newbies are going to find it hard to follow.  The last post says it is currently for 1.29, whereas the manual says it's for 1.32 and yet I'm getting no errors or notifications that it is out of date with my game patched to 1.33.

If you read this post from Pes http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,18136.msg589464.html#msg589464 you would know that AM is actually 1.33.

I am aware of that bozos I was referring to the fact that it will be confusing to Newbies!

Could we add some punctuation, here? I have no idea what you mean.
