Title: Help please, I'm a n00b once again.
Post by: MelissaMarie on 2011 April 16, 21:37:14
I used to play Sims 3 religiously because I took a year off after high school and didn't work much. I had World Adventures installed and upwards of 1000 game mods installed(Including the AM) and working. I downloaded bunch more and one of them fucked up my game, I understand this was probably two core mods conflicting. But I was too lazy to search through all of the mods, so I just erased them. At that time the college semester started and I just gave up playing the Sims 3 altogether.

The semester is almost done so I'm starting over. Anyways, my problem is I updated my game and my current patch is 1.19.44.010001, I have ONLY the AM installed and it is not loading. I can't seem to find what patch it's up to date with. any help is appreciated.

MM (PS. don't tear me to shreds, I already admitted to being a n00b.)

Check your mod framework.

Check your mod framework.

The framework should be exactly the same as it was before and it ran fine.
I have my Mods/Packages folder in the proper area (In the Program Files Sims 3 folder), and I have my Resource.cfg file.
I just came across "The New Way of Doing Mods", does it HAVE to be done like this now, or is it optional?
I'm honestly clueless, it's been months since I've done this.

No, you don't have to, but it's easier (and less error-prone) to do it the new way.

It would have been beneficial to mention you were using a MAC in your first post.

Try a search, framework issues for MACs have been discussed at length.

The framework on Mac and PC for mods is exactly the same though, I started playing the game on my Toshiba, then later got a Mac.
I've figured it out now anyways, thank-you though.

This is worse then AA. Hi, I'm SimMoon and I am a N00B once again. I took a mild 4 years off from The Sims of any kind and came back in recently. I have a question. I have everything but Barnacle Bay. Does it matter what order I put those in or is this better then the Sims 2, you can just do what you want?

Windows 7 PC

Thanks ahead of time. :)

The order you install stuff doesn't really matter with EAxian packages, far as I've seen. Also, your thing was showing, so I fixed it.

Since you are on a Mac you should check this out. Doing a search should have turned this up: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,20008.msg568123.html#msg568123
