Title: Saving worlds which were edited in-game?
Post by: Rainne on 2010 June 19, 15:35:33
Does anyone know if there is a way to save a world which I have edited in-game as an actual world rather than as a save-game?  The reason why I am asking this is because I have severely borked something and am not awesome enough to figure out how to fix it, so I'm trying to be creative and work around it.  Something is badly wrong with my Riverview - a lot of the rabbit hole lots are just no longer in existence - and I can't get CAW to run at all.  So I cobbled together a nice, working version of a neighborhood that looks a lot like Riverview, only using Sunset Valley and Twinbrook buildings.  I'd like to save this as a new world (Lakeview, perhaps?), but I can't work out if there's a way to do this from within TS3 itself.  I'm running a full game, all EPs and SPs.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Not possible. Save the game as an empty world and then when you start a new game within it, "Save As" so that you don't overwrite it. That way, the empty world file will always be there for you to start over if you want to, just like picking a world from the drop down list.

I was afraid that was what I would have to do.  Thanks, Claeric.

The loss of Riverview objects has happened to others in the past and there is a fix for it.  It was too long ago for me to remember the thread, but a search should yield fruit.

Lost objects are fixed by decrapification.
