If this was some kind of final draft, the writing is a complete joke.  In just one page (37) detailing the cooking skill, I found they omitted two additional ways to learn cooking skill (maybe more), the tip had an incorrect recipe for Ambrosia (what's a Death Fruit?), and they neglected 3 additional ways to learn recipes.  Oh, and no actual hard numbers to be found in the data area to boot (forgivable).

Why do they never hire someone to write the guides that actually plays the game?  I'm sure of 10 million simmers there's at least one decent author among them.

And they expect people to pay $14.99 US for the privilege. I found this one less useful than the previous guides; that or ambitions is more buggy.

Both.

I also found the digital version to be poorly put together with low quality images. At first I thought it was because this was some half assed poor quality scan to PDF conversion someone did of the actual book but then I downloaded their preview snippet of a few pages of the actual digital version off of Prima's site and it looked exactly the same with the low res images with artifacts and everything.

Yeah, this is a ripped version of the e-guide I got this morning. Pretty craptastic quality from Prima this time around.

I bought the prima guide in book form.  I'm just old school, like that.  I have already found several instances where it just wrong.  For instance it said that the bake sale table is for toddler use but teens and adults could buy from it and children and evil adults could steel $ from it; it is actually for children to sell from, not toddlers.  So far it really hasn't given me too much information that I hadn't already figured out.  It does tell you how to solve all the investigation cases.  I don't plan on reading that section unless I get really stumped.  All in all, I think the book sucks.

There's a bake sale table? Damn, I don't know how I missed that...

Thank you for this, but megaupload is giving me a funky spam popup with my spam blockers on and updated, could you please use media fire or something?

Why do people even bother with the Prima guides anymore? They're full of crap information. The darn things are printed long before the games are even finished, so of course there's going to be tons of stuff that's wrong with them. They're not even worth arring, let alone paying for! Especially since you can get most of the important information on the internets for FREE!

Besides, it's Sims. Why do you need a guide? o.O

Sorry.  Dyslexic; spell check doesn't catch those kinds of mistakes.  I'll try to be more careful.

I remember getting the Sims 3 base game a while back. Not very helpful at all....it was so bare and it got so many things wrong.

The Sims and Sims 2 Guides were far better, they went in-depth and the people writing them knew what they were talking about.
