Currently arring from this TPB link (http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5166218/The.Sims.3.World.Adventures-RELOADED.iso). Ditto on not installing it, though, until awesomemod update and opinions from the awesome and slighty-awesome have been bellowed.

JUST as I get over my no-cd patch woes, here it comes again...

Anyone have a no-cd patch for this right now? My download seemed to lack a crack.

I'll try this without awesomemod. I'll take that action.

I know it may be painful, but I don't care. I didn't pay for it and that's just fine for me.

Post by: coltraz on 2009 November 17, 05:42:49
If you downloaded the Reloaded release then you have the crack. I'm looking at mine now. Mount the image, explore the "disc" and the crack is in, you guessed it, the "Crack" folder.

I own legit TS3 (yes, I bought it)

I cannot install the expansion because of the region the game thinks it is.

You want to fix this? In regedit...
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3

Change SKU value to 7.

Then yay, it installs. Screw EA.

On TPB some people are commenting that the Reloaded version isn't working with the Razor1911 final release, even with it patched. Can anyone confirm this?

It works. Patch Razor1911 all the way to 1.6.6, and then install.

I'm right now in China. Objects/scenery are satisfactory, gameplay is seriously lacking compared to BV. No hotels: no check-in, no private hotel rooms, no other tourists at the base camp. Other people on MTS are saying you basically can't bring friends on trips. You can't buy a vacation home until you have a higher level visa, which means you are forced to do adventures, which I don't really want to. No real sense of shops. You buy food from a "food register", and my sim got a hamburger!? There are other types of registers: book register, relics register, general store register. Stuffs in the shops are just deco. We are probably still far away from making own shops in the base hood. And no beach! I want to relax on the beach and have a real vacation. I took Tiki Island for granted, and now I really miss it.

I'm downloading now. It won't be done for another 6-7 hours but that's ok because I'm not touching it until AwesomeMod is updated to work with it.

Is there going to be a list somewhere with all the hacks and whether or not they need updating for the EP like there was with TS2? I have a total of about 18 hacks, including AM in my game, most of them are for small things like removing the sleeping Zs, music notes, etc and stopping things like coughing, wrench tossing and foot tapping.

As someone who would rather spend a hunk of cash on the legal bought game, I'm having a problem doing just. Well not exactly a problem but the release date for the WA game says 11.17.09... todays 11.17.09. But yet when I go to the EA Store, it still says pre-order?? I'm talking about the digital download of it. I know it takes a while for it to be available on the release day, because it took a while when Sims 3 came out, but am I missing something here, it shouldn't take this long??

However I too will not be playing it until Awesome is updated, but I would at least like to have the game got done downloading and everything.

If you pre-order a digital download, you get it from 12 AM but if you just want to buy regularly, you need to wait till 12 PM. Pre-ordered digital always gets the jump on everyone else.

I actually did pre-order. It was probably ready at 12 AM but I was checking for the download link in the wrong place. Though they said they were going to e-mail me when it was ready for download, and I got the e-mail at 12 PM.

I pre-ordered the download version of one of the earlier TS2 Stuff packs and it made me wait until noon on the release day to install it. I remember there was a countdown timer that told me how many days, hours and minutes I had left until I could install.

Post by: Druscylla on 2009 November 18, 02:39:40
Okay well my husband bought the game for me, I installed it and so far I noticed that it took way longer than usual to load. Also, I had to abandon my Goth house save due to the fact when I opened their save, the sims were standing in a huge blue square that used to be their lot. Its totally gone. And if anyone else can confirm this I don't know but my fps seems lower than it was pre-expansion too. Haven't gotten to the adventuring yet.

Your answer is to use google... That's the best you're going to get out of anybody here. If you don't know how to download and install a game then you'll need to research it. No one wants to tell you, because it's not an easy answer. Now fuck off.

Side note: Would you people not PM me? Just because I posted this thread doesn't mean I'm anxious to help you with cracks or whatever the hell else.

After Software, don't stop at Electronic Arts, scroll further down to Sims, then click Sims 3 and right click the SKU and choose modify.

Wow, this expansion is kind of offensive to women. All the ones in Al Simhara save for two are wearing muslim headscarfs.

Egypt is a bit more liberal, but in Saudi Arabia, women aren't even allowed in the country without wearing burka and dress from neck down to feet.

I also wish they had left the names of the countries out of it, because I feel like it ruins the suspension of disbelief. The only two countries we had ever heard of were Sim Nation and their enemy, the Red State or something like that.

Al Simhara, Champs Les Sims and Shang Simla would have been plenty. I don't mind the cultural similarities, the symbols etc. but calling them Egypt, China and France really kind of irritates me. I look at that text and go "NOOO! This is the Sims! It shouldn't say that!" Those destination names they came up with for both Bon Voyage and those I mentioned above are fine. We didn't need to bring religious sexism and real world grief into this game!

I like how everyone assumes that women in headscarves = sexism.  There are women who choose to wear headscarves for their own reasons, you know, and even women who choose to convert to Islam and then wear headscarves of their own free will.  Of course, I don't actually have WA, so for all I know the male Egypt townies beat the women in headscarves and don't let them drive cars, either.  Given that this is EA, I wouldn't really be surprised.

Yes, there are women who choose to wear headscarves. There are also women who choose to be in abusive relationships, so it really proves nothing. The only thing we know for sure is that progressive muslim countries like Turkey and Egypt are trying to ban the scarf, while oppressive radical militant islamist countries like Iran, and... well... the rest of them, are trying to enforce it. There is nothing in the quran about headscarves. All it says is to dress modestly. Dressing in radical islamist fascist garments both in their own countries as well as living in the west is not following islam - it's how a cult movement behaves. So anyway, in conclusion, yeah, the headscarf is offensive, both to True(tm) muslims and non-muslims and women alike. It's a symbol of violent islamic revolution.

But yeah, no beatings, just a lot of poking, shoving, mean interactions... though if any of them catch fire I will be suspicious  ::)

Even if the women in Sim Egypt are wearing headscarves, at least they are not enforced on every female tourist who visits Sim Egypt like they are in /some/ Muslim countries.

That would piss me off.

Title: Re: World Adventures Hits the Interwebs
Post by: guardianpegasus on 2009 November 19, 05:33:08
lol good point.

Anyway... I hope to request that every reference to China, France and Egypt be removed in awesomemod as well, as an option. It just totally screws up the Sims universe which, the entire point of the game being, that it is a distinct, seperate, yet similar, nonsenical world... and yeah it was probably a marketing ploy, but it's amazing how the people who took over after Maxis missed so badly when it came to the "soul" of the franchise. It just really shows that a lot of people who work at Redwood Shores and on The Sims 3 don't really "Get" The Sims, but rather approach it as they would any other game. I think that's obvious from how goal-oriented both Sims 3 and especially World Adventures now also is. World Adventures as an addon is sort of like adding a new game onto the existing one, which is fine, if it were truly optional, but with World Adventures it's sort of the majority point of the entire expansion...

I don't like EAxis. And I don't like Redwood Shores (I'm going to have to think about a pun name for them, shouldn't be too hard, it has potential).

Failhard bores? It rhymes at least.

I'm not offended so much by the real diestinations thing, but TS3 is my first sims game, so I suppose I missed the 'Great' period. I do not find completing checklists to be very fun though, and unless you use epic lifespans, or rig immortality, you will never have a character who has finished everything. This irritates me.

By the way, there's a new 1.7 patch out. It's supposed to combat the save issues.

Title: Re: World Adventures Hits the Interwebs
Post by: KawaiiMiyo on 2009 November 19, 10:20:44
While it's true EA has their many many faults, when you get right down to it all, I think this whole "Great period" of previous games/expansions is just an illusion... In my opinion at least... I mean, their have always been complaints, since the days of TS1... whenever a new expansion pack came out, people complained about how they could have done more of something, and how something in the expansion pack was dissapointing.... but give it some time, and a few more expansions... and whatever people once complained about, soon becomes these "Great days of Sims"
I'd like to see those people go back to playing TS1, or TS2 without those expansion packs that hadnt come out until recently.... Despite all those complaints, I'm sure there will be something they cant do without, that was featured in something newer.

As far as completing those checklists and following those weird tasks etc... It's not the first time they've had something like that entirely, I hated in Bon Voyage, how long it took me to unlock certain interactions, and their were tasks/goals there as well... If you dont like that sort of thing, thats what mods are for. And there will be plenty of them to take care of those "Extra nuisances"

Title: Re: World Adventures Hits the Interwebs

Well obviously you have to take years of development and increased computing power and advances in general into account. Sims 2 was bugged as hell as well but it was fixed quickly and the remaining issues were not critical. In Sims 3 we see several critical stability issues that keep reappearing and a myriad of patches, but now World Adventures is here, and it's broken again... plus they added a host of new problems. Not to mention these new developers of Sims 3, Redwood Shores, do not understand the Sims product like Maxis (makers of Sims 1 & 2) did.

I do believe Sims 2 and it's expansions were better in terms of stability and the essence of the sims. Like Moryrie says, this is his FIRST Sims game, and he hates the fact that he can't control his sims without making them immortal. Well, that's my exact grief with this game as well. It takes power and control OUT of the player's hands, and that's just not what the sims is about. Redwood Shores have REALLY missed the philosophical mark with The Sims 3, and if it weren't for Awesomemod I wouldn't be playing this game.

Me too! But I also think TS3 is better than TS2, just for the neighborhood integration, and the sim you see is actually the sim, not a duplicate of the sim like in TS2. However, without AM, TS3 is not playable. So these features really don't matter if there is no AM to give the control back to the players.

I'm not a he. I thought my name sounded feminine enough. It's the verb 'to die' in Italian creatively mispelt. I've also gone by 'Lady Moryrie,' 'Mademoiselle Moryrie', and Elizadeath.

Oh well. And it's not quite that I can't 'control them' .. it's that I can't finish all the checklists the game gives you without immortality. I can finish lifetime wishes easily enough, but I feel compelling to max all skills and all the little subgoals involved with those skills. And hidden skills.

My sentiments exactly. By most all accounts the game is better, but if it's broken beyond repair and no longer plays like the Sims... what's the point?

Actually it says pull your veils over your chest and don't show your adornment except for what is apparent of it. Does that mean wear a headscarf? That's between each person and God, most people who study Islamic history and law believe it does. I believe it does so I chose to wear it. That's the thing about a book that hasn't been significantly changed in generations, they start to mean different things to different people. Incidentally, I'm from America (born and raised in the midwest) and am a liberal.

I'm not a he. I thought my name sounded feminine enough. It's the verb 'to die' in Italian creatively mispelt. I've also gone by 'Lady Moryrie,' 'Mademoiselle Moryrie', and Elizadeath.

Very creatively indeed. Not quite sure how "Moryrie" is meant to represent a word (morire) which rhymes with day.

The only thing we know for sure is that progressive muslim countries like Turkey and Egypt are trying to ban the scarf,

...seriously?  That doesn't strike me as terribly "progressive", TBH.  I'm also not sure how choosing to wear a piece of clothing can be compared to choosing to be in an abusive relationship, but meh.

I'm actually still wondering if there are going to be Japanese/Korean/Vietnamese cultural elements in "China"/Onebiglumpistan.

One could argue that religion IS an abusive relationship ;) It also seems like all the middle eastern ones have funny noses, at least the premade ones. But enough about that. At least in this thread. Anyway, my point was, how much realism do we WANT in a Sims game? I think Redwood Shores are missing the philosophical mark. World Adventures is also waaay too goal-oriented.

It also crashes hardcore every 30-60 minutes...

Public Service Announcement, stay away from TPB right now. Someone I trust to know this shit just told me the site's being majorly tracked now.

Halfway done, too. Bah. Damn Demonoid being down, I've been avoiding TPB ever since the whole lawsuit thing, and WA tempted me back.  >:(

I've tried to pay close attention to how people are going about successful patching and installations of arr'd copies of WA, but I'm quite lost when it comes to actually DOING it. Has anyone written out a step by step process that updates your current arr'd TS3 with the correct patches? I'm using the razor version, which is worldwide, right? So all I do is grab the patch 1.7.9 from here for example (http://www.nzbsrus.com/nzbdetails.php?id=261408)?

I'm still waiting on AM but it would be nice to have WA installed and my game updated (and running smoothly, if possible...) before AM actually releases, so that all I have to do is place it in my game. In the meantime I can use a new 'hood to check WA out. I just don't want to waste my time reinstalling the entire base game and all that shit if I can avoid making dumb mistakes the first time around. How can I do the best to avoid common issues folks are encountering? Perhaps it's all very straight forward and it's just tards making it APPEAR difficult?

Also, updating the game via the launcher aint an option.

Yes, matter-of-factly, there are 4 new species varieties of koi, and a Dragon Fish in China.
I seriously thought they actually bothered to make a pun on koi names, my hopes went up when I saw "Doitsu", but all 4 species varieties are real-life koi species. Shame on EAxis.

Townies seem to be being slightly more active about finding mates than in base game. I've had at least one sim start as a baby and find their own partner, which I never saw in base game.

OK, I am one of those who actualy bought the game "guilty as charged"  ;D So, the first time I tried to install, my game stopped loading after intro. I have put out the all mods, and game now loads (very slow, but it gets there), and when I finaly want to start to play it wont move.... for ages. I didn`t have any pathces installed because my game worked perfectly after I bought a new computer (no saving problems or errors whatsoever). Yesterday I installed WA and it said I have to update first, so I did. It doesn`t crash my game or anything, it just sooooooo fu.... slow :(

Erm, it really pays to reinstall the whole thing... and wipe your registry and folders because it leaves some stuff behind.

I did notice that the travel destinations are considerably slower than the home neighbourhoods. More detail probably.

Question about the Razor1911 game and the Reloaded WA game.

What I done was completely uninstalled the game because it wasn't working. I reinstalled it and downloaded a patch that brought the game from 131 to 166, then installed the patch that brings it up to date. http://games.softpedia.com/progDownload/The-Sims-3-Patch-Download-43741.html (http://games.softpedia.com/progDownload/The-Sims-3-Patch-Download-43741.html) you can get them from here. After that you can install WA.

Newbie to arr'ing here. Can I someone recommend a good, freeware/shareware virtual drive creator? Yeah, I know, Daemon Tools (Google is my abusive butoccasionally helpful friend), but I can't afford it. Don't get me wrong; I've figured out how to find them. I just want to know which ones are actually good and won't cause my drive to stop working after the 30-day trials ends or something.

I told myself after Spore that I wasn't giving EA one more cent, and this time, I mean it.

I believe you can still download Daemon Tools Lite (by confirming that you are using it only for home & personal use).  I'm also new to this, and I downloaded it that way.  Here's the link:  http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/downloads (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/downloads).  If you scroll down to Daemon Tools Lite you will see that they ask  "Are you going to use DAEMON Tools Lite at home personally and not for commercial purposes? If "Yes" then press on "Download" and get it for Free!".  That's what I did.

I own legit TS3 (yes, I bought it).  I cannot install the expansion because of the region the game thinks it is.

You want to fix this? In regedit... HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3.  Change SKU value to 7.  Then yay, it installs. Screw EA.
Do you then need to change it back to your original region code SKU on both the base game and the expansion?  Please let me know.  Thanks.

ETA:  I also have a legit TS3 - and downloaded the expansion.

Is that a threat/promise?  Actually, a lot of DF-related mods would be pretty cool, though probably not easy.  Realistic gore, flood the world with magma, people running around on fire, etc.  It might even be enough to make me want to play the Horror again.  :P

I have a legit copy of the base game and the arr'd World Adventures (Reloaded version). Everything's fine and working (other than the shitty performance), but I have one question. Should I just keep updating from the launcher, as patches are added? Do I have to remove the crack for updating purposes, and add it back for play purposes?

I suppose that's two questions actually.

You can but likely the crack won't be compatible with the new patch. Also, you have to remove the crack and put the original EXE back or the shitty patch utility will complain. Why not just use awesomemod or the nocd at crazy town?

Hi,

I have a somewhat noobish question to ask, so here's the deal.
I have the original TS3 game, and have been looking for a WA free download. I have never done this before, all the previous The Sims games I own have been store bought or pre-ordered. So thanks to this thread I finally found some via this link http://www.zerosec.ws/the-sims-3-world-adventures-reloaded/ (http://www.zerosec.ws/the-sims-3-world-adventures-reloaded/)
I downloaded No. 19 by (Sencer) and extracted it to the Game\Bin folder as the vague directions said.
Quote
1. Unrar.
  2. Install the Sims 3.
  3. Burn or mount the image.
  4. Install this addon. Use keygen when prompted for serial.
  5. Copy over the cracked content to \Game\Bin\ of your installation directory.
  6. Play the game.
  7. Support the software developers. If you like this game, BUY IT

But it never went through all the way, as file number 28 was corrupted. So I wasted two hours... for seemingly nothing.

So in order to avoid the hassle, Can anyone please tell me how to go about downloading WA? The steps to take, how do you get a serial number, IS a serial number needed, etc.

Thanks.

Good point. The fact that the EA downloader patched me up with an arr'd game threw me, I guess. I wasn't expecting that! Manual patches and no-cd it is.

FYI, in case anyone was wondering, under win7 the SKU key is in HKLM/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Sims/The Sims 3.  I suspect it may be lurking there for vista users as well.

You have a corrupt download?  What 'never went all the way'?  Is this when you were installing the game or when you were unzipping it?

Otherwise I'm not sure what advice to give except follow the same instructions as above, 1-7.  Although mount the image should be done before installing the game.  Step 4 tells you how to get the serial number.

I have a legit copy of S3.  I was too scared to use an arr'd version for the base game.  I was able to arr' WA without any problems from  a Portuguese site via bit torrent and burn to disc.  I followed the instructions and was able to start the game.  However, I could not actually play and the error message was "disc authentication verification" and to contact EA support services.    I downloaded and ran "Rookit Revealer" as suggested in another thread here at MATY and sure enough it located the indicated files and supposedly removed them.  Well, we know that I can't contact EA support so I was a wondering if anyone can tell me a way around this problem. :-\  I will be eternally grateful at least in this lifetime for the help/advice.  Remember, I am  a slow newbie.

Thanks.

First, go here (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/downloads) and install Daemon Tools Lite. I assume you managed to merge the two parts of that download into a single .ISO already? All you have to is unzip them to same location if not. Open Daemon Tools, go to Add File (the icon of a CD with a green plus sign) and find your .ISO. Once it's added, click on Mount (the icon of a CD with a green triangle). You have now tricked the game into thinking you have a legitimate CD copy.

Go into My Computer and you should have a new drive letter. This is your Daemon Tools' virtual drive. It works just like your regular CD drive, so open it up and run Setup. While it's setting up, look through some of the folders. There might be one called Crack, with a file called rld-s3wk. This is your keygen. Just double-click on it and click generate, then enter the serial it gives you. There's also a cracked version of TS3EP01 here, but I wouldn't mess with it if I were you. Just get AM and enable No-CD in the config tool, then make sure to never use the launcher. This way, there's nothing to overwrite.

Based on what you said about copying some file into your Game/Bin directory, I'm thinking you'll probably need to reinstall the base game first. Maybe you just weren't being clear, but it sounds like you copied whatever that was into Sims 3/Game/Bin, and that's not what it was talking about. It expected you install WA first and overwrite the file in that Game/Bin, but if you do like I said in the last paragraph, there's no need to worry about it.

If you get it all installed okay and it's still broken, just download someone else's. I recommend number 10 (http://www.zerosec.ws/the-sims-3-world-adventures-reloaded/#comment-10) because it's been working fine for me.

Yes, Necromancy is bad. I realize this is a dead thread, and PLEASE don't shoot me!! PLEASE!
I just want to know if TPB is still being watched, as I would LOVE to download WA.
I haven't played TS3 in a while, and I wanted to check out WA cause I've heard both good and bad things about it.
IF TPB is still being watched, can someone direct me to a .rar version of WA. I request .rar because using BT makes me want to pull my hair out, as I have to go and find the directions for it, since "mounting" and all that stuff doesn't seem to want to stick inside my skull. It leaks out while i sleep.
I'm not even GOING to ask if AM is compatible with WA since I haven't even checked the AM thread. I'm not TOTALLY noobtastic.
Thanks to anyone who is kind enough to answer this question for me! Much love to EVERYONE here, as my gaming experience wouldn't be the same without you guys!
