Title: Mysterious Gallery of Floating Art V2
Post by: Motorhalo on 2009 September 11, 23:21:31
(I was so ashamed of my previous version of the floating art gallery that I had to make it better)

This is an art gallery that contains, well, floating art. There are six themes, as explained by the 6 sections, these themes are:
-Landscaping
-Modern
-Flowery
-Oceanic
-Japanese
-Surrealism
This has been dedicated to http://simsartgallery.net (http://simsartgallery.net) for all the hard work that has been put into each painting. My art galleries would've look terribly miserable if it had not been for that website and it's creator.

Wow, this looks really awesome and you're right, the Sims Art Gallery website is da bomb! There is artwork and paintings, etc. that should appeal to a variety of simmers... this site has been a real lifesaver for people who love to do unique interior design and have art/paintings that are of great quality and originality, unlike the sad EAxis offerings in our base game...   ;)   ;D

Nice idea, pity it's just a square box. This could have been done really well, with different areas done in the style of the painting groups, and other artworks placed around to set the paintings off. eg Japanese paintings in a gazebo in the middle of a brushed gravel garden.

I think this needs moving to the Spoiled Pudding area.

Well, I have been thinking about that considering, that there have been previous versions of it. I'll even start on it right now thank you very much!

Think about using different levels to delineate the subject areas, too. I don't agree that it's worthy of being in Spoiled, but everything can be improved.

I agree that this is a good idea that you can improve on (and I'm glad to see that you can critique your own work). You already have different themed areas; just expand on the idea of there being different areas. Maybe make a large lobby area that has wings on three sides with different styles of artwork and furnish accordingly?

By the by, the columns glassed in are a nice touch as is your use of color. You're getting there  ;)

Nice idea.  I think it looks a bit more like the market bazaar of floating art, though.
