Title: EAxis House of Phail: August 2009
Post by: SalixTree on 2009 August 07, 06:47:53
This month we are going to pretty up this house, Cozy Co-op, from Family Fun Stuff. I don't own that stuff pack, so I rebuilt the house from the picture, using Anygame Base game. I couldn't make out what was on the 2 tables, so put whatever in there. Doesn't really matter, does it?
The base game rebuild is attached below.

Gah. The lot doesn't have flat edges. I went through half an hour of trouble to fix the lot edges.
*edit* see what happens when I start one of these threads? There's a flattened edge lot a few posts down, on Liveangel's post. Thanks Liveangel.  :-*

And photos from my rebuild:

Rules copy and pasted from last month:

1. No CC.  Please indicate stuff packs so people who wish to download your lot know what to expect.  Pictures are required, either available for download, on a slideshow, or posted in this thread.

2. By entering this challenge, you agree to take constructive criticism.  If you wish to judge someone else's entry, you should be respectful but honest.

3. Your lot does not have to be Awesomespec, although it is encouraged.

4. You may move internal walls and add external walls but you may NOT move original external walls.

5. Lots may be furnished, unfurnished, or partially furnished.  You can even upload both furnished and unfurnished versions.

Bonus rule:  Keep the two big flowery shrubs where they are.

(I've never started a thread here before.. little nervous)

Is there some reason that you didn't attach the lot directly to your post?  I've attached it here for now.

Otherwise, you did well; thanks so much for rebuilding the lot so that everyone can participate.

Will keeping the existing tree be a bonus challenge?

Oh, I never attached stuff in here before, I'll do that now.

Will keeping the existing tree be a bonus challenge?

Sure, there are 2 of those big flowery bushes, I'll go and edit my first post to include that bonus.

It's absolutely hot here in the south, so I'm bringing something a little bit colder.

Edit: Ok the file is uploaded. Sorry for taking so long. I had to decorate everything again because I didn't know moving a sim out of the house using boolprop still made the objects disappear.

House is around 71K and uses all EPs and SPs.

Gah. The lot doesn't have flat edges. I went through half an hour of trouble to fix the lot edges. On the plus side, Base game starter provided me with some delicious nostalgia.
The file is attached.

Crap, turns out I wasn't really successful. Sigh. I'll attach the new one when I finally get it to work. For now, I'll leave this one here.

I've finally got it to work! At least I think so. Whew.

Minena, I love the "beachfront" blues you've used as your colour scheme, and the courtyarded front bush/tree is an eye-catching and attractive feature for the front yard. Nice work!

ETA: Jorganza, your house is stunning, all trimmed and covered with snow. Great decorations!

Both of those houses turned out well. The second floor really helps balance that design. I'm thinking of putting the house in Sims 3 and seeing what I can do with it there.

>:( I am sooooooooo annoyed! I would have jumped right on this but RL has gotten in the way. I should actually say cleaning my RL house, specifically cleaning my roommate/sister's bedroom while she is out of town for 4 days. Yes it is taking 4 days to clean it!. I don't think she has cleaned it in years. In fact I think I found a stash of Confederate money hidden under her bed. LOL If you can't imagine how bad it is/was, have any of you seen the show "Clean House"? Well that's my sister's room/house. She's the quintessential "Pack Rat/Collector" personality. And before you ask why I am cleaning her room, I swear the mess was alive and spawning and threatening to invade and overpower my room. The only thing protecting me was keeping my door closed at all times and I swear at night I could hear it knocking and scratching to get in! :o

You are a good sister chobeegal!

I spent the day making the house into a Sims 3 starter. I reoriented the bathroom and added a tile for the toilet. I moved one wall to make the bedroom smaller and I added a wall to enclose the kitchen. Even with expensive paintings, the place only costs 37.5K on a cheap 20x30 lot.

I know I deviated severely from the main point and I should have added a second floor for a couple bedrooms and bath. Maybe I will do that tomorrow. Anyway, if you are curious, it looks like this:

Some charming houses, Jorganza  and Minena, both have lovely color schemes!  Ciane, yours is utterly cute, a much improved and more colorful version of Maxis' one.
I haven't even started on my one yet, hope to get to it soonish.

Hi, I like what everybody have done with this house so far. Good work!

So here's my version (http://www.box.net/shared/p002vaqgjo). Playtested just a bit. Its only partly furnished only to show where I thought the different areas should be. And it has the one desk.

I 've got all the EP's and other stuff packs but don't own that FFS SP so I was pleased that you guys made the house available for me to download. Thank you.

That said, I'd like to add a small rant: I wanted to use the boolProp lockTiles false code but was disappointed to note that it didn't work. So I couldn't make the house as wide as I would have liked. Blah! /end rant.

Now to the pictures: I've made some small modifications to minor details of this house after I took the pictures.

A fence protects the garden from strays. The mail box you see in the pic is part of default replacements Avanti Entrance Set from Simgedoehns. It's not included in the download package.

The trash can is at the back of the house by the kitchen door. so it doesn't take the sims too long to take the trash out. The trash can is also from the Avanti Entrance Set from Simgedoehns.

Downstairs. You can lock the kitchen door and the door to upstairs to prevent guests from wandering. A small table is placed by the entrance door so that the sims can place their incoming mail there. I've used half walls to divide the room in separate foyeur area, dining area and tv-area. See the slide show for detailed pics! I took away the rocky fountain from the garden corner because it was a stupid idea to put it there in the first place!

Upstairs. Here's a big family room, balcony, a library and two other rooms.

All the details pictures are in a slideshow here (http://s249.photobucket.com/albums/gg215/sipu_von_sapu/cozy-co-op/?action=view&current=19c6fbd8.pbw).

It's far from perfect, but I hope you like it  ;D

Edit: the link to slideshow should work now.

Cozy 'Chobee Co-Op

Well here is my redo. I have all EPs and SPs. This house has a negligible amount (if any) of CC. It may have a recolor or two as well as a couple of "fixes" for certain items.

I love seeing what everyone comes up with each month.  If this was the BBS I'd hand out benes and stars but it's not so all you get is my opinion.  :P  Sorry.

Jorganza - Awesome.

Minena - I love the beach colors and the simple, uncluttered furnishings.

ciane - Cute!

vibble - I'm not crazy over the boxy, symmetrical look and your pictures don't show enough detail for me to find something I do like.

Sipu von Sapu -  Cute!  I like the stucco and siding combination.  But why did you put the refrigerator and stove in that closet?

Liveangel - Cheesy!  I really like the covered patio area and probably something else but I can't get past the color.

chobeegal -  + 10  for color and creativity.   - 15 for choking that poor house with plants, shrubs and trees.

OK, Honeywell, so I guess you don't like plants/flowers/shrubs/trees.
Are you like those people who go and buy a beautiful wooded lot (which because of the trees costs a lot more than the barren lot next to it) and then bulldoze them all out? If I had my way, those kind of people would be prosecuted for stupidity. If you want a "naked" lot then buy the one that already is. Don't pay extra money to get the one with trees and then murder them.
Personally I love to have lots of trees and greenery surrounding me and where I live. Rather than "choking" anything, they add a sense of freshness, "breathability", and yet privacy to a home. My one great complaint w/ Sims2 is that if I actually put as much "landscaping" into a Sims lot as I would like to have in RL, it makes the house totally unplayable.
But since you don't like plants around a house, you must really love Prosthetics' concrete landscaping. (This is not a "slam" toward your house, Prosthetics; I like several features of it, especially lthe different roof heights. I'm just not fond of concrete. ;D)
Liveangel, I actually like the color of the house. It fits with the style you have done. The one suggestion I would make is that it would look more "at home" in desert landscaping. The Hibiscus would still work, I've lived in the desert and still had Hibiscus plants.

I seriously just realized that I completely forgot landscaping. I built that house very early this morning. I think I'll be fixing that now. XD
I was trying to go for a "beach" lot, but...ahhhh...I suppose that's kinda difficult without BV  ::)

Prosthetics, this is definitely more to my taste in landscaping. I don't know how well Honeywell will take your addition of trees and plants (and grass) though LOL.

Edit: Corrected typo.

OK, now I've learned something entirely new. Anyone who likes or appreciates plants in their surroundings is crazy. Thank-you, Honeywell, for adding to my limited education. I mean I do only have a MA in Education. I assume you are a qualified Psychiatrist (or at least Psychologist) to diagnose my mental illness?

I agree with Prosthetics; chill out!

chobeegal & Honeywell, couldn't you take your argument to RetardoLand and leave this thread for houses and comments on the houses?  Whether people like plants in real life is irrelevant to TS2:

My one great complaint w/ Sims2 is that if I actually put as much "landscaping" into a Sims lot as I would like to have in RL, it makes the house totally unplayable.

Here is my submission this month (I had one for last month too but my computer was on the fritz... might still upload it though).  This will be in your lots bin as 118 GoldTone Road because that's the address of the house in my neighborhood.

OK here is my second remake for this one, 'Chobee Gardens Fine Dining. I did a Community lot; my first one ever I believe. No appreciable amount of CC, just maybe some "fixes" and recolors. I would suggest that it probably needs one of the "Perfect plants" hacks though since there is no way for a gardner to access most of the plants.

@ lizbeth - your house has inspired me for a few other projects, it's very nice ^_^

@ chobeegal - it's very pretty, and colorful. Though it seems a tad cluttered. Or maybe I'm just anti-a-lot-of-stuff-on-lots because I run TS2 on a laptop...but it's still very nice!

Prosthetics - Nice job comming up with a roof, or six, for your house and I like the color as well.  Since chobeegal asked, the grass is a bit too patchy for my tastes but the palm tree was a nice touch.

lizbeth -  I really like the exterior of your house.  The red windows and doors look great with the neutral siding and brick.  I like the floor plan as well.

chobeegal - Wow!  That's crazy good!

I thought I'd try a house this month because the Cozy Co-Op was small and didn't look to intimidating.  Four or five hours later I managed to come up with an unfurmished starter. My hat's off to all of you who do this every month!

I have to fix the lot edges and test it some more, so I might have the file uploaded by tomorrow.
Jorganza, did you ever finish your lot? If so, when might we see it uploaded?

I moved the house to the sea side
Minena, I really like your house, but there is no download link. Are you going to make it available?

I spent the day making the house into a Sims 3 starter. I reoriented the bathroom and added a tile for the toilet. I moved one wall to make the bedroom smaller and I added a wall to enclose the kitchen. Even with expensive paintings, the place only costs 37.5K on a cheap 20x30 lot.
ciane, I really like this . I think you should think about uploading it for those who have Sims3 (I don't have it and don't plan to get it).

yibble, I don't quite know about your house. I don't dislike it, but I would say it seems kind of rigid and unforgiving, sort of like a spinster aunt who doesn't approve of modern "foolishness". Actually when I look at it I am reminded of New England Puritans or a Rectory, Nunnery, or Monestery.

Sipu, I really like the exterior archetecture of your house. I know there are benefits to being able to lock visitors out of certain areas of the house, and I compliment you for allowing this in your house, but I always find that putting an actual door into the kitchen disrups the "flow" of the house in play. Also, the kitchen does seem a bit "galley-ish" for a house of that size. I found a workable solution for keeping visitors out of the kitchen without "closing it off" from the rest of the house. I used half walls and a "lockable" gate (the wrought iron one looks nice and there is actually an invisible recolor over on MTS).

@ chobeegal - it's very pretty, and colorful. Though it seems a tad cluttered. Or maybe I'm just anti-a-lot-of-stuff-on-lots because I run TS2 on a laptop...but it's still very nice!
Yeah, I'm not sure how well it would run on a laptop. Being that I was making a "Garden Restaurant" there is an abundance of "clutter" mostly in the form of plants. It runs smoothly enough on my PC, but I do have a huge amount of RAM (8+gigs).

chobeegal - Wow!  That's crazy good!
Thank-you. I quite like your one too, especially the front facade which keeps it from being bland and boring. The interior layout is nice and roomy too. Also, it's nice to see that you aren't totally anti-plant after all. LOL

I'm not saying I don't like it, because I do. In Sims 1 I used to play lots like that all the time. But I never actually got the opportunity in TS2  :-X

I was going for woodsy in this one:
But now I kind of feel like I copied Honeywell  :-[
I mean with the stone front, and all.

I'm not so sure about the color scheme atm, because I'm trying to stick to the no CC rule, but Maxis doesn't really give me good wood options in the EP's and SP's that I do have. :/

Edit: Attached the lot to the post.

This lot was made with ALL EP's, excluding Bon Voyage and [Glamour Life Stuff, H&M Fashion Stuff, IKEA Home Stuff, Teen Style Stuff, and Celebration Stuff]

Okay, I stuck in a link to my Sims 3 Family Fun house.

I like that wavy look to the roof, Jorganza.

Honeywell, I love that rocky brick and creme color combination.

Choobeegal, I liked that wavy glass roof of yours too, but I loved look of the blue and gold color scheme and M&G roof more.

Could someone critique my garden and give me some tips on how I can improve it? Landscaping is usually the hardest part of decorating a house, and it's almost always a challenge to make a believable garden. Here's some pics of the gardening I added around the house.

Here's the right side of the house. It's a continuation from the bedroom's sunroom with a private eating/wining area.

Honestly, Joragnaza, there really isn't anything to critique.  I think your gardens fit perfectly with the homey, cottage style house; especially the yard you used the terrain with the flower petals.  There's a nice mix of plants and deco objects and nothing is rigidly lined up or over done.

Maybe a hint of a thin line of lighter grass around the planters would add some realism?  The solid green grass maybe looks a little too solid on the one side.  Not very helpful, I know, but I think the landscaping compliments the house beautifully.

chobeegal -  + 10  for color and creativity.

Sorry, but hundreds of trees in a straight line and clipping through each other is not a good look. I have to agree with Honeywell that it's a shame, because the house itself really does look nice.

Some nice houses this month. The house for this month is much more versatile than the last one. I might give this one a shot.

Title: Re: EAxis House of Phail: August 2009

...hundreds of trees in a straight line and clipping through each other is not a good look.

Hundreds? Where? Even Pre-K kids know that three is not "hundreds".
The only clipping through each other the "trees" do is what would occur in a RL planting situation.
A more serious issue IMHO is that Maxis walls and windows are not "solid" as in RL and allow plants, bushes and trees to cut through into the house. Some strategic turning of the plants as well as using the snap objects cheat can only partially remedy that problem.
The snap cheat also is necessary to realisticly "corner" a chair or bed in a house or the back will cut into the wall.
Also, even though Maxis bins the Midbiscus as a "tree", a Hibiscus is actually a bush (albeit a very large bush on occasion) and professional landscapers (which my father, who I worked with, happened to be) frequently plant bushes in rows.
If you are referring to the rooftop "plantings", those are not trees either. They are the Trellis/Planter boxes, and I purposely overlapped them to give the impression of a continuous planter box/trellis as a privacy screen, something that is also commonly done by RL decorators and landscapers. And I'm very sorry that placing it in a straight line aestheticly offends your sense of artistic ambiance, but that's just how most trellises and planters are made.

Concur.

Can we try to keep it nice and peaceful in here for more than a few posts?

@Erry - I really like your house! But it seems to not really deviate from the original design (besides adding a second floor) The colorrs selected for the shrubbery and whatnot don't clash with the exterior paint or anything, which is nice, but the house could be easily interchanged with the original :/ The inside is rather nice, however, and the minimal furnishings keep it from feeling clogged.

Erry - I agree with you. I saw nothing wrong with the chosen house and only changed the bathroom, added a wall, and decorated with some extra landscaping. The roof was the number one appalling feature, so changing that made the house much more pleasing. I like the way you switched the rooms around too so that the kitchen leads out to the back patio. That is so much more convenient for grilling. In real life, I'd like the smaller baths upstairs to have a door leading to and from the neighboring bedroom only. In the Sims though, it is probably just as convenient for the door to lead to the hall.

Chobeegal - I really like the use of the M&G roof at ground level intermixed with normal walls so that you can get a better view with walls down. They look really nice as corner supports!

I agree, the M&G roof at ground level is really interesting and unique.  How unfortunate that the game doesn't properly drop those walls with the "walls and roofs down" option during gameplay.

Thanks. This idea was something that literally came to me in my dreams. When I woke up and remembered my dream I decided to just give it a try and see if I liked what I came up with. I did, so I decided to post it. It only took me about 3-4 hours in all to build and decorate; one of the fastest, if not the fastest, I've ever done. Maybe I should do more "dream houses". LOL I did forget to put in the ceiling though.

I should have been posting feedback before this thread got so many submissions, but here goes ::deep breath::

@Jorganza:  I really like both of your houses -- especially the roofing.  1st lot -- I'm a little bummed I don't have the Hoiday SP so I can't download the winter house :(; 2nd lot -- My favorite part of this house is the landscaping and the outdoor living space.  I'm glad you posted additional pictures of the landscaping, I think it looks really nice

@Minena:  The simplicity of the courtyard is really stunning and the color scheme is great (I rarely use blues in my decorating so I like to see it done).  The 2nd floor bath seems kinda out in la-la-land but I understand why you chose to put it there.

@Ciane:  I don't have TS3 but the house is very cute nonetheless.

@Yibble: I think your house would work great as a small dorm.  I'm not really too keen that the entire yard is paved over though.

@Sipu von Sapu: This house is amazing!  The kitchen is a little small for my tastes, I think I would have put it in the empty room next to the pool.  I very much like the pool/exercise room and the garden sitting area.

@Liveangel:  The color scheme is nice although I'd agree with the others that it would look more at home on a dessert lot.

@Chobeegal:  1st lot -- I really like the rooftop green-space; 2nd lot -- Lovely, the pictures don't do it justice, I popped it in my game and it's very stunning.  Although since it's a community lot the solar panels on the roof seem like they don't really belong; 3rd lot -- I really like the creative use the M&G roofing and the color scheme rocks!

@Prosthetics:  1st lot -- I like the neutral two-tone color scheme.  The front of the house seems like it's missing something though (maybe some of the small round windows that came with M&G SP would spice up the front a little).  My boyfriend says he's glad that sims is just a game b/c a roofer would most surely break their neck trying to roof that house!;  2nd lot-- can't wait to see the finished product.

@Honeywell:  That house is definitely somewhere I would live IRL.  I can't wait to pop it in my game and decorate!

@Erry:  I really like the layout of your submission.  I will definitely be using it in my prosperity hood for a family/fortune couple that's getting ready to graduate Uni next round (they are bound to have at least a few spawn so it will be a perfect size)

...since it's a community lot the solar panels on the roof seem like they don't really belong...
You are probably right in so far that businesses in the game don't actually receive bills (as they do in RL), but I was going for a bit of RL authentcism and "green" businesses I have seen (of which a "Garden Restaurant" might very likely be) do have Solar Panels and even wind powered generators. In fact I live in  a "ranching" area and wind power is very popularly used here.

'Chobee Atrium

I'm not sure I really like how this came out. I thought it would be really neat to use the glass awning as a roof to the atrium/porches on the house, but since they don't drop with the walls it makes it a bit inconvienient to play. I did play test it enough to know that it is functional in all areas. I used some CC fixes, recolors, walls, roof, rugs and plants to get the look I wanted but not a great amount, and removing it with clean installer should not affect the basic house other than having to redo some missing items with Maxis content.

Is that DIAGONAL MULTITILE SIMS 2 FURNITURE I see? Don't do that, that borks the multitiledness and causes the object to bug out.

I wish I could get motivated to participate this month.

Just had a chance to look at everything. Some lovely stuff...

yibble, very difficult to make out your house.

Sipu_von_Sapu, classy! I like the low roofs. The whole house has a suburban look. Looks nice from the front, with that fancy fence.

Liveangel, that color! If I put that in my game, it will get a different paint job immediately! Maybe more of a fawn stucco. I'm not a big fan of that mustard color. Although the inside looks nice and hot.

chobeegal, so much stuff! My house looks empty compared to yours. I like the yellow and blue colors on the outside.

Prosthetics, Love the front of yours! Inside nice and neat, I only looked at a few photos, they were taking forever to load, so.

Oops.  I didn't realize you were crazy.  I meant to say +15 for wrapping that house in the loving embrace of plants, shrubs and trees.
*giggles* I like plants too.. I like being crazy!! *ding dong*
But I do agree there are too many plants, cho, or maybe they are too much in a strait line.  I think I'd do them a little more randomly, I'm into a wilder look.

lizbeth, that's a lovely house! I adore the art room/wall. oh.. oops, was looking at the wrong slideshow. The Cozy Co-op is nice, but I like that other one better.

Jorganza, oooh! I like that one lots! Colorful and friendly interiors, fun room, bright kitchen. I love what you did with the roof in the front, how cool! And a slightly chaotic mix of plants. Very nice!

Cho, again... I do like that Cozy 'Chobee Co-Op Cottage a lot! Interesting idea using those roof pieces all the way to the ground. Love the interior, a crazy riot of color! It does indeed look like a house out of a dream.
And another house?? How many is that, 4? All wildly cluttered. Maybe it only looks cluttered because all the walls are down?

My house is done, it's getting quite late though, sleepy time for me. I'll get my house in here first thing in the morning.
Let me just post a photo.. when I finished my house, I thought it would go great in my storybook-type neighborhood. The instant I placed it, a rainbow appeared right on top of it. Magic! So I called it Rainbow's End.

See yas in the morning.

Here's my second house for the month. I couldn't think of anyway to extend the house, so I simply kept it one story
with a sunroom added to it.
Could someone critique my garden and give me some tips on how I can improve it? Landscaping is usually the hardest part of decorating a house, and it's almost always a challenge to make a believable garden. Here's some pics of the gardening I added around the house.
I really like this, and don't see a thing I think you should change in your landscaping, but did you forget the download link (again)? LOL

I will get it packaged :)
Minena, as I said before, I really like your house and would really like to get it, but there is still no download link. ??? :(

Let me just post a photo.. when I finished my house, I thought it would go great in my storybook-type neighborhood. The instant I placed it, a rainbow appeared right on top of it. Magic! So I called it Rainbow's End.
I always like your houses that look like they belong in a Fairytale. Rainbow's End seems a very appropriate thing to call this one.

Maybe it only looks cluttered because all the walls are down?
No, it is very cluttered looking. Probably because it is so small. I was trying to keep it only one story with two bedrooms, but it doesn't really work and also looks kind of squashed down, in my view. I think that is probably why I don't really like it too well. I decided to see what I could do with it though to make it more to my taste and less cluttery (hmmm, is cluttery actually even a word?). Also, Pes said:
Is that DIAGONAL MULTITILE SIMS 2 FURNITURE I see? Don't do that, that borks the multitiledness and causes the object to bug out.
So even though I have been doing this with multi-tile furniture and objects for a long time with no resulting problems whatsoever, I straightened them all out.

So with that said, I present-'Chobee Atrium Redux

Alex, I don't think there are hundreds of trees in in this (I didn't actually count them though, LOL). Definitely they are not in straight lines though they are clipping through each other and through the walls. I can't do anything about that though.

Flying high over Windywillow Vale, two faeries looked down and saw a house at the end of the rainbow.

The house from the back, faeries like to use the back door in this particular lot, it's more cheerful and sunny.

I tend to pick houses to a theme that fits the occupant, or have them supply their own. So Emma, for instance, lives in the BATHROOMLESS HOUSE of her own making, while others similarly live in houses they have built for themselves. For better or worse. Usually worse.

As for my own sims, they live in bland, but highly functional gray brick-shaped structures.

You gotta love a SalixTree house!

I did finally make the Sims3 house into a two-story version to allow for family expansion. The cost is almost 55K now. I call it the Mayfield House because that is the street location I gave it on the 20x30 lot.

Hi again
some truly amazing houses you all have built. I'm thoroughly enjoying looking at this burst of imagination and talent you all are showing. Thanks for sharing, everyone. Such a source of inspiration. :D

Thanks for your comments. The kitchen in my first version was a bit small (but still perfectly playable though). I suppose, I'm not a very kitcheny person myself. Hardly ever allow my sims to cook, but however, I decided to make some improvements to my first version and here you have it: my version # 2. This one isn't playtested at all.

Moved the kitchen and swapped the places of dining area and sofa group. Added a fireplace to the dining area and a grilling area at the back of the house. The rubbish bin is now in a closet.

Made the library a bit larger and the two bedrooms a bit smaller. Added another balcony.

The cost of this house is around §88k

No cc included. I've got all EP's and SP's
Enjoy!

Ajcrawly, cute little house. I would have given it one of those half roofs over the front door. How you call it, the upside-down V look.
(my brain's shutting down, can't think of the word) Like Ciane has over the front door.
Ciane, still so ultra pretty!
Sipu_von_Sapu, I like your outside color theme of yellows and peach, friendly colors. Cool indoor pool.

And just a quick note: The half bathroom appears unpainted in the pictures, but I painted it. The attached file comes with the painted bathroom. I don't think of a lot of things until I start taking pictures. Which is why in some pictures you'll see things that weren't in others.  ;)

All of my houses are between 60,000 and 70,000 simoleons furnished. When unfurnished, they are usually under 20,000. (but I don't attach any unfurnished, so unimportant.)
All files have been attached to their original post, and pictures updated. The only house that won't be getting any interior pictures is the Cozy Cabin. Only exterior for you!

If you had read the full post, you would know that the bathroom HAS wallpaper, just not in the picture (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y289/ComaB/awesomonster.gif)

I'm aware that it is now September 1 in the other half of the world, but it is still August 31 for nearly 3 hours here, so I'm going to post this anyway. I decided to put the house on a foundation and work from there. Maybe it isn't strictly according to rules, but I kind of like the result; Cozy Co-Op-Foundation

When you make a suggestion, please post pictures of the outside of the house and the floor plan.

Would it be possible to rebuild using only the base game?

Because of the octagonal shape, roofing would be next to impossible in a Base Game setup.

It's possible, however, it would look weird.

ETA: Rebuilding in progress.

To be honest, I'd rather see a base game house or something. Last time we did a house that was weirdly shaped, not many people deviated from the original structure, so a lot of the houses were quite similar. With a more ordinary sort of house, people tend to run wild with it, and I enjoy seeing what people come up with when they do.

Hah, I'm using that Riverbend house right now (and just had to build on an addition).  It's just such an impractical house (the second floor is particularly phail what with those little wall hunks next to the bathroom).

I'd like to see this house re-done (and I have an idea for it myself).

Since Liveangel is already rebuilding this lot for the base game (and with flattened lot edges, I hope), I vote that we do this lot this month and a more traditional lot next month.

This house looks like an interesting challenge. Strangely I don't even recall ever seeing it before at all which makes it even more interesting and challenging in my opinion. It does look like a mammoth PHAIL in the posted picture.

Looks like it would be a good challenge to add to and make that house better. I say go with it, as long as it's made available for the base game. (I went through a cleanup this weekend, which involved me deleting neighborhoods and un-installing some EP's. Seasons was one of them.)

Late, I know.  I actually finished this one so I'll post just to share.

I decided make a home for a couple of grandparent type people with the essential cat.
