I have no idea how this came about - this is just some random townie that I happened to notice was screwed up, and invited over for screenshots.

Could he be pregnant? I believe that's the only reason males go partially invisible?

Yeah, he's probably pregnant. (Though I haven't actually seen this in my own game. Yet.) But that thumbnail reminded me of something, so I went a-googling...

The floating head, MegaBrain, from the cartoon Widget (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Widget_(TV_series)). Except the sim has feet instead of hands.

I don't know if he's pregnant or not, but I have something similar in my new neighbourhood, after the heavy patching today...

No, he's not pregnant.  I'm running a vanilla game, no mods at all.

Did you try changing his clothes?

I have 2 of those, townie brothers in my Legacy town. It is especially weird seeing them from behind, as mine only have a face, with no back to their heads. Hopefully they will age and die fairly soon.

As a matter of fact, the Sim in question (who was not under my control) was Inappropriate and Insane.  Probably driven insane by his disability.  In any case, after visiting, he tromped off to one of the beds, changed into sleepwear, and went to sleep.  When he woke up, he changed into formal wear.  His body and arms re-appeared when he wasn't wearing what is presumably Casual clothing.

Actually, I think there was a bug where same sex couples could try for baby without any mods, so it's not inconceivable that he is pregnant.  Or, since he was apparently able to change into other outfits, it there might just be a borked mesh somewhere or something.

Which totally explains why my town has two brothers who have looked like this since childhood, and are curently teens. And no, I don't have any pedobear mods in my game.

Well since the sim is insane and inapropriate maybe the trait feature is bugged. They are supposed to wear the wrong clothing for all the occassions so maybe the game is getting itself confused :-/

Okay Gus, question. I notice the date on this thread was 7/29, so just after the patch. Did this townie happen pre or post patch?

Because I never had this happen before then I started a new neighborhood, destroyed all humans, moved a new sim in, EAxis story mode generated a couple of families so far and both males generated are torsoless.

I thought maybe a messed up outfit or something so I selected one and did the dresser command on him. When it goes to the selection of outfits, no outfit is highlighted where usually the current one he is wearing would be. When I try to use the design tool on him it says he has no style and a style (outfit?) needs to be selected first.

I wonder if this is a patch induced bug that new male sims created by the story engine end up without a torso. Ugh.

This was post-patch.  I doubt it's "all male sims created post patch," but I strongly suspect it's something new introduced by the patch.  I'd never seen it before.

Well in a normal neighborhood most people would have a full neighborhood and probably wouldn't have too many new sims being generated, but since I wanted to test Pescado's story mode out on a clean one and see how it reacted I got rid of everyone. So far two for two men the game created have no torso and are also not wearing any outfit, so it's not just an invisible outfit.

I will try and test further.

Mine are both elders now. And another thing: neither of them has a first name.

Okay I just had another male generated who does have a body. The interesting thing is this one is wearing a two piece, separate top and bottom. The other two when I put them in a dresser, the one piece full body every day outfit came up by default, but there was no outfit highlighted.

Edit: And yet another sim generates without a torso, full body outfit category when I throw him into the dresser.

So far this has been my experience. Any new townie sims the games generated post patch that did not exist prior to it that are male and generate in a full body outfit category end up with no outfit and thus no torso.

I have seen new sims generate with tops and bottoms, have yet to see a new one generate with a full body outfit. Prior to the patch I would get them spawning in those god forsaken overalls and mandarin coat all the time. Now they just have nothing.

Seems this is a reproducable bug too. At least for me.

Well, people wanted no more spawned townies in overalls, I guess this is one way to solve that problem. :P

There's a Sim in my game who's like that... He's one of my Sims' boss--the Leader of the Free World. I just tell myself because he's such an internationally-known character, he must have gone through great lengths to maintain a low profile.

As you can see I have the same problem. He also does not have a first name.
I have the AwesomeMod as well as a few other mods and my game is patched.

Another question for you guys who have patched and are getting this. If you go into the CAS and select adult male sim, then roll the dice to randomly generate them a bunch of times, do you end up with torsoless ones sometimes?

I do. Pescado says I must be wearing tight pants because it is not doing it for him.  :P

This is really annoying the hell out of me and trying to get to the bottom of it.

Edit: Okay he is getting it too. He was rolling YA which oddly enough is fine. It's only full adult male that has the issue. Seems both by doing a random roll in the CAS or being generated as a townie.
