Title: Tools and such, found off-site
Post by: burlesque on 2009 July 26, 01:10:50
Hello everyone.

I was doing my daily research on some Sims 3 pages & I found this.

http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=358682

So... from now on there will be no more replacement meshes although there were some released before this.
It seems this tool makes it easier to do non replacement hair.

Before someone asks, this tool doesn't make meshes it's just to make the hair mesh non replacement.

Oh, thanks.  I'm wanting to start off with some age conversions, but didn't know how to do the non-replacement thing yet.

THE GATE IS OPENING! THE FLOODING HAS BEGUN!

This is great news! Hopefully, someone with more brains than myself can remake some of the TS2 hairs I loved.

Peggy will be so pleased!  ;D

Apparently, she has her own tools.  ::)

She also can't be arsed with elders or just generally doing things correctly, but maybe automating the process will get her off her lazy ass to do it.

Of course she won't actually be using this. She will be using her own tools uniquely developed especially for Peggy Zone.  :D

A truer word was never spoken! Why I imagine that, at this very moment, she's slaving over Peggy's Patented Pixilatin' Sims3 Hair Provider, whipping up new styles that will literally have us gasping with amazement.  ;)

If only I could find a decent Milkshape For Dummies tutorial, I could start whipping out some (obviously free) hairs now that they aren't in danger of replacing hair in the game.

There are lots of those.

A set of them here (http://www.customsims3.com/forum1/YaBB.pl?board=torkgen).
A bunch here (http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch/ms3d/tutorials.html).
And when you work up to it, HP has posted a TS3 hair specific tute here (http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorial:Sims_3_Hair_Basics).

Yeah, I'm working my way through those right now.  This reminds me of years ago when I first tried painting with Corel Painter; I was totally out of my element when I first opened the program.  I'd spent years painting with all sorts of mediums, but that was certainly no walk in the park.  I have a feeling this will be the same way.  Good thing that I'm a quick learner.

The gender-biased doors will come in handy for community lots. Thanks for the links!

I hope they also find a way to make decent hair conversions to opposite genders. Up now the gender convertions are producing heads that look like the rugby ball Sims use to play. This includes the ones I saw in Store. Got 1000 points to register my game and sincerely didn't see anything I would spend it on. Was interested to get the Riverview hood but cannot download cause this computer doesn't play Sims. Will wait for a Stuff Pack.
