Title: Legacy Challenge: TS3 Style
Post by: Pinstar on 2009 June 10, 23:49:22
Just letting everyone know I have a new version of the Legacy Challenge in the works. It is currently in the play testing phases and should be published within the next week or two.

Woo? Family trees are going to be challenging for this game, especially at the 10 generation mark. I'm at Gen 3 and am already having to do a lot of tweaking with all the in-laws and love children. One of my sims is marrying an NPC simply because I can't squeeze in-laws in around him.

I never played the legacy challenge really in TS2, simply because no one aged around my family and it was a PITA to beam people in and then age them up all the time to keep them progressing along with my family (for example, we had the same maid for 6 generations in my longest attempt...WTH?). Now that story progression means sims around you age along with you, I'm keen to try and do a legacy again.

Funnily enough, TS3 seems to have been engineered especially for the Legacy challenge. Being a fan of the Challenge, I'm looking forward to news on this front. Don't take *too* long, eh?

With awesomemod, you can even play a prosperity-legacy blend like I'm doing. I just split my one household into three. Story Progression got switched to off (I'd left it on for two generations so that the neighborhood would fill itself). Aging is turned off except once a round, so everyone is aging at the same rate though I don't have to actively play the families I still consider townies until they are absorbed. Then run a RandomStuff script to control the growth of townies.

I can't wait for this! Obviously with Awesomemod I'm not forced to do Legacy in Sims 3, but I figured now is the time to try out the challenge anyways.
