BTW, some reminders here to new sharers ( though i guess most people here have been using this method already )
*Reminder to Content Sharers*

Here is how to find the newly bought Store content if you have no idea how to do it in a faster way.

After your EA Download Manager has completed the relevant download. Do not run your game yet, otherwise you won't be able to find the separate .package file for the object or skin.
Now, go to *C:\Users\<Your Windows Username>\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Store Edition\Downloads (* it isn't necessarily the C: Drive, but it must be the drive where your Windows Operation System is installed) , look for the folder "Objects" for new object download and "Skins" for new skin download. Copy and paste the relevant .package file inside somewhere else. This is the file that is needed. If you are kind enough to share it here, upload the file. After that, you can run the game and then the files inside C:\Users\Vic\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Store Edition\Downloads will be incorporated into the bulk files SCObjects.package and SCSkins.package under C:\Users\Vic\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Store Edition\Packed automatically.

So if you share file this way, you can avoid the nuisance of finding and extracting the relevant contents from SCObjects.packgage or SCSkins.package.

PS. The above stuff is just there to help people who may not know how to share contents in a more efficient way. If you know a better way, feel free to correct me and post here.  ;)

Hi all,
Many questions have been asked about re-downloading items from The Sims 2 Store that have already been purchased. Can items/objects be re-downloaded? The answer is: yes, objects purchased from the store can be re-downloaded. Just follow the directions below:

1. Delete any items found in the ?My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Store Edition\Downloads? folder

2. Follow this by deleting the ?My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Store Edition\uContent.xml? file

3. After doing this, please log into the EADM with your Sims 2 Store account and ?clear the cache? for the Sims2 Store (The far right side little red X) then re-download and install the items again.

4. When you are done, there should be no items in ?My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Store Edition\Downloads? folder.

You can use the above steps if you?ve reinstalled the Sims 2, or have a corrupted download of one or more of your items.

;D  all of the hair is hideous, the long hair for women is tolerable.  So no furniture for it then???   ;)

I don't mind the women's hair so much, but the male hair is odd. I'd love to see the bun hairstyle from the back. Why advertise a bun and not show it?

Why advertise a bun and not show it?

Because they are full of PHAIL.

Will someone please get and share that sleek and long adult female hairstyle?

So people have to buy it to see what it looks like. If it sucks, they won't know until it's too late! MOAR MONEY. Also because they appear to take all their preview pictures in the exact same way. Laziness and greediness combined, I imagine.

Is there a specific person we may donate to for purchasing any items? I know there was a mention of doing that during the last round. I get paid this week, so I wouldn't mind donating some for the cause.

Have someone fix those skins plz. Many of those do not have all teen-adult-elderly versions and some of them even have bad meshes!

I am requesting a fix here. Anyone want fixed versions of them too?  ;)

BTW, has anyone else also got any of those items in this new collection?

I wanna post some note about Art Noveau theme of Maxis

Unless of course you aren't registered there. Open registration is closed at the moment and the store files are not accessible to non-members.

Maybe someone who has a membership will get them? If they keep an eye out that is.

I'm guessing they are now incapable of making objects at all?

I'm thinking they just haven't gotten around to uploading them yet. The preview had at least one object in it.

ooops, where is the preview?

oh i see what u mean now. u mean the pictures under "clothing" of the store site. if i remember correctly, i have not seen the wall painting, the bar stool and the door (or is it a window?) before. I guess there are at least 3 new objects. But if we can expect 3, we can definitely expect more. EA will not create just a few items for a brand new collection. You know what? I am starting to wonder how borked those items will be..... >:(

I'd also be willing to donate some money using PayPal since I can't buy at the store anymore to donate stuff. I still have 125 points left, maybe there will be two smaller objects when the furniture comes up, so I can get rid of them.

So, who will be the big buyer and uploader we can get our money to?

At least I will if I am in US or Canada or EA change its policy so that it accepts my Visa. But I am outta US or Canada.... So, no can do!

But if I were an US player and have points left out on my account, I wouldn't mind buying those new items, fixing them and then uploading them somewhere. I don't mean to be picky, but it is a fact that every single piece of items at the store are borked to some extent.

*Of course, the shared items are for those who own them already but long for fixes of them. Otherwise if you upload an untouched item to the site, EA will get you into trouble.

N.B. for me, no matter how slight the change it is, I will make some change to any Store item before uploading it. Say, I would change the catalog desciption by adding in "SiuPang" to every item's name, e.g. "SiuPang's Art Nouveau Windows". LOL
Then for those who hate me and do not want my name to appear in the objects' name, open SimPE to remove "SiuPang's" to make it back to "Art Nouveau Windows". But all the stuff that people do after downloading what I have uploaded is their business.

My point here is, someone plz *customized* the items before uploading them to avoid all those EA copyright shits. I strongly believe customized items are way better!

OK I figured it out - you have to change the OBJD file file in each item from 0x008D to 0x008B.  I did that on the dining chair and then it shows up.

I will work on fixing all the others to show up in game and reupload.

I have noticed that the clock which is catagorized under small electronics, is actually decorative only.   ::)
I'm guessing it can be changed to be functional but I'm not sure how.

Also the rug has 5 recolors.  All are nice but I'm not sure if this recolor was an oops or was intended to look like this.

The middle is missing so the floor shows.   It kind-of looks cool with the middle missing but is that what was intended?
The bookcase works with all the FT and AL functions.

I've had a quick look at the store and I think all the sculptures are showing up for me. I've got the Calla lily flowers and the Calla lily sulpture. The lady called A careful balance is actually an end table, if that is the one you mean.

Thanks for all the goodies folks.
I have noticed one or 2 probs, maybe its just me but the double door does something odd where by from one side it looks normal (although it does appear glass-less) but from the other side of the wall only one side of the door shows (I wasn't using moveobjects on). Also the teen & elder versions of the brown Shirley Temple hair have missing textures.

Other than that, I love this set. Thanks again

I'm guessing it can be changed to be functional but I'm not sure how.

Functional, usable Art Nouveaulicious clock. It uses Cheap clock sound, Expensive clock animation and FX. Can be placed on coffee tables.

Known issues: Mesh is too large for alarm clocks, so hand animation will be a bit off when Sims interact with the clock.
Like IKEA clock, this clock also lacks "broken state" mesh, so it will revert to the base game cheap alarm clock when it's broken.

I think it WAS indeed intended. The texture has transparent part in its center. I agree that it's cool.

Thanks Lord Darcy for the alarmclock fix.   Looking at the rug again I do think it was intended as one of the other recolors available is the exact same outer patern but with an opaque middle. ( its black with some medallion looking thing).

Should the object files go in the game folder under AL or M + G, as I have all my Lord Darcy Bonus items in AL bins - or does it matter?

Just to let everybody know I'm fixing to buy the last 4 dresses.

Edit:  Here's the link to the last 4 dresses http://www.mediafire.com/?qkzmiwndnxo - I didn't get any empty packages.

Edit: Fixed broken link - I have no idea what happened - unless Mediafire deleted it for some reason.

Ok, I need to know if it's the objects or if it's my problem. I don't get any light in thru the door or the window. http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr97/Telraven/borkedwindowdoor.jpg (http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr97/Telraven/borkedwindowdoor.jpg)
I put it in the same folder as the asian fusion window, which DOES let in light. I read about changing the load order when I didn't get any light from the Asian Fusion lights, and so I made a folder in my The Sims 2\Downloads folder called: ZZZStoreObjLightingWindows. That's where I put all of the lights and windows/doors from the store (e.g. here) and the Art Nouveau 2-tile door and window still don't let the light into the room. (I'm pretty sure that the Asian Fusion lights don't change the room they're placed in either.)  So, is there somewhere else I should put them? Or is it the objects that have the problem?

Thanks to everyone who shared!

Telraven, I can confirm that doors and windows do let light go thru, just checked them in-game. I created a new folder in my Bins (named SimsClub_ArtNouveauEP99) and saved files there. I have a folder for each Sims Store collection (named SimsClub_CollectionName) in my Bins and all new windows and doors seem to work.

ok the double door is messed up. I'd fix it but i dont have a clue how. here is a pic to show what i'm talking about:

http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq39/TinaGallo379/snapshot_36714369_b6721b04.jpg

Open the Door_2Tile_ArtNouveauEP99package file. Search for the OBJ  Door - 2 Tile - ArtNouveauEP99 - 1, 0 and change the 0x0001: version_1Read Only from 0x008d to 0x008b

Looks like Cerridwen missed one OBJD of double door while fixing version bitfields.

Uploaded fixed door for people who cannot use SimPE.
Also fixed the wrong door sound.

I used your instructions and it worked like a charm, but I feel better using your fixed door.  Danke. ;D

Telraven,
the ArtNouvau Windows/Doors musst be loaded after AsianFusion Windows/Doors. Make a Subfolders for objects from each Store Collection:
For Example: 1_Store_Deko_Cubic, 2_Store_Spooky, 3_Store_Castle, 4_Store_Asian, 5_Store_ArtNeouvau. There are the Lights Files in Store Objects. Each NLO file overridge file from elder objects. They have the same Instanznumber. The windows/ doors from ArtNouvaucollection have a lightdefinition for Asian- and other storewindows, but asianwindows have not lightdefinitions for Artnouvauwindows.

My point here is, someone plz *customized* the items before uploading them to avoid all those EA copyright shits. I strongly believe customized items are way better!

Or instead of going to all that trouble you could just ignore EA. Unless you're an idiot who has this account linked to who you are IRL, what are they going to do? Just ask you to take them down. *Shakes in boots*. As long as you don't upload it to the cheezeserver it's all good. People need to chill out with this being scared/intimidated/bothered by/of EA BS. Upload and move on.

Oh... that's right EA can't track me down who I am...  ;D

BTW, thx all!

For all who have probs with the doors and windows put the attached NLO file in you Downloads folder and all doors, windows and lights from all sets should have proper light.

What Heli suggested was not merely about putting the files into 5 different folders. It is more than that! You are also supposed to name them as Heli has suggested so as to ensure the order the files are loaded. Of cox, u can change them into any names provided that the same loading order is preserved. The main point is this following order:

1 Deco and Cubic
2 Spooky
3 Castle
4 Asian Fusion
5 Art Nouveaulicious

*FYI, What affect the loading order of the files are the folder names. And that order follows the alphabetic order, i.e. folder with "A" as the first letter of the folder name should be loaded before those with "B"

The object flags may need to be set to base game for those objects.  I've been hoping someone would need/want to reset the flags for the Art Nouveaulicious collection; since without the flags being reset, we Mac users (and other Simmers who don't have all EPs/SPs) don't stand much chance of getting these objects to work in our games.

Are you sure?  I tested them in my mac game, and they loaded for me.  I think we have the same game config (all EPs up to BV), no?

You know what they say about assuming stuff - I clearly made an ass out of myself in this instance!   :P  Will check the objects in my game and post back if I have issues.

I just wanted to report that using the nouveau desk I get errors whenever a Sim tries to use anything placed on the left side of the desk. I've gotten errors from Sims trying to use a phone placed on the left side of the desk, and from trying to put away/recycle books & newspapers they've placed on the left side of the desk after use.
I've gotten around this by putting lamps or decor on that side of the desk so Sims don't put their books & papers there. The computer placed on the right side of desk works fine.

Stupid EAxis, why clone Seasons Country desk instead of one of base game desks? >:( Seasons Country desk has its own special BHAVs and SLOTs to block homework route. Apparently EAxian morons forgot to fix SLOTs, resulting in "no bone on model" error. Which proves once again that the entire PayShit team know nothing about Sims object structure.

So I r-edownloaded it to make sure I had the newest version.  The bookcase still has no interactions, I can't click on it at all.  Everything from this collection shows up fine, granted I haven't double checked the usability other than placing.

I am using OSX with all EPs up to BV installed.  There must be something else in the bookcase pointing to an EP I don't have.  Did FT add something that would render the clickable options useless?

Try this? (http://www.mediafire.com/?zz1cgzn1dyq)  You'll still need Uni and OFB.  I'm not sure about Pets, but probably that too.

I'm not playing with this set much, so I didn't test it very thoroughly.  Be careful if you decide to check it out; don't forget to take out the original before you put this in.  Game crashes can corrupt your 'hood. :-\

Has anyone else tried the "Slick Curled Hair for Boys" in the game?  It worked fine for me in Body Shop, but when I tried it in game tonight it reverted to a base game hair.  I have all EPs and all stuff packs except K&B and M&G.

ETA: Okay, I figured out what the issue was.  This hair is only available for the Everyday, Athletic, and Outerwear categories.  Why Maxis chose only those three categories is a mystery to me.  I'll fiddle around with it in SimPE and see if I can fix it.
