Thanks for the work! I was curious if the recolors for Numenor's recolorable Mustang and Punto would work for your versions of the cars as well?

Is something wrong with Mediafire ? The page doesn't show the download link, only (for a long long time) "Processing download request..."

Post by: Richief on 2008 December 09, 01:13:29
Tamha,
I'd checked and I'm afraid not. Numenor's version uses different subset names in his version, I'll fix this issue in the next update (I almost finished with some other objects).

Timoram,
Try again and let me know if the problem continues, sometimes Mediafire shows up this error.

Thanks for these, they are great...one issue though, the download for the cars only contains 2 of them, the Fiat and the Hawker

Post by: Richief on 2008 December 09, 01:53:18
Oh no, it's not an issue. Ford cars, Fiat and hot rod are bundled in a single package, I named the file "CarOwnableFordNFiat.package" (contains 7 cars), Hawker is sold separately (not sure why but I thought it was a good idea).

I'm getting this too.  Actually, I often get this crap from Mediafire and it's very frustrating.  How long does one usually need to wait before checking back will actually produce a different result?  Usually, I just give up and never download whatever it was I was trying to get, but I really want the screen/art.

I used to use Opera, but those downloads can be download only with IE... I didn't test it with Firefox or Safari.

I get this most of the time in my Fx browser, but usually just refreshing the page fixes it for me.

I may be a little confused. I went to download the cars, but that download only has two cars in it - the fiat and the ratrod. Is there something I'm missing or is the download messed up?

The Fiat package contains all of the other cars too.

2008/12/28: Space chair, egg stereo and some clothing from The Exchange were added. mini-CEP was updated.

Mustang GT and Fiat are now compatible with Numenor's recolors. Re-download, please. mini-CEP was updated to include this change along with egg stereo and space chair, also note that mini-CEP is no longer divided into two (MMAT and GMND), delete these and copy new file.

I also added some clothing from The Exchange; the ultimate soccer kit and some celebrity Sims. I deleted child and older soccer clothing as they are included in FT; only toddler is left and face paint for all age groups.

Kürt requires OFB because of the mesh.

2008/12/30: Kürt, Julie and Jeanette Biedermann were (re)added.

I reuploaded and updated Kürt Rogiers and Julie Taton; their faces are updated to AL and their archetypes are now included. I also added Jeanette Biedermann. I must say I was impressed by this set; it has black Maxis-made recolors, clothing & hair have their own collection and face make-up comes in 5 skin tones (lite, med, tan, dark, and alien)! Jeanette Set shows up under base. Unfortunately I could not find any pic of the set, but will try to post a picture later.

Edit: Hilary Duff was added.

I just uploaded Hilary Duff. Her face makeup was updated to AL, her archetype is not included. The package also includes Jenn's clothing. Both outfits (Hilary & Jenn), hair (the same for both) & makeup (Hilary Face) show up under Pets.

2008/12/31: Carnival costumes were added.

Carnival costumes from the German Sims site were uploaded. I also added a picture showing Jeanette's hair and outift, I will try to post one showing the recolors.

I can't seem to get the Carnival hair and costume to show up for young adults.  Neither in CAS or Bodyshop.  I checked it out using SimPE and WW, but everything was gravy (as far as I could tell, anyway).  Is this just a me problem, or is anyone else having this issue?

Title: Re: Decostumized and Updated Exchange and Other Maxis Stuff - (Updated 2008/12/31)
Post by: Richief on 2009 January 01, 21:49:50
That's weird. I just checked the file with SimPE and it should be available to adult, elders and young adults... However I can't test in-game because I don't have University. Anyone having the same issue?

Note that the clown hat shows up under base, almost at the end of the catalog between the propeller cap and viking hats. The costume should appear under basegame too... The girl's hat shows up at the end of the catalog, after the pirate hats. And her outfit is after the school uniforms.

Yeah, I don't get it.  For good measure I scrolled through the base game hair and outfits.  And then scrolled through all the hair and outfits just in case.  Not there.  Everything else works perfectly except the costume and hat.  For me, at least.

These two sets are now enabled for young adults, I'd like to thank cow tools (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,13883.msg403712.html#msg403712) for pointing it out. Re-download these two only. Note that Jeanette Biedermann black recolors weren't updated.

Thanks for that, but I dont really want the sims and their outfits nor makeup, I just want the hair (why do they keep making hairs and not putting them in the game? the basegame and the expansions have serious lack of hairs), how can I seperate the package to hair only?

By the way, the Kurt sim hair is a stolen hair from OFB  :-\

You can try to open the package and delete everything that doesn't look related to hair; property sets, face/arch xml, textures, etc.

??? That should solve the problem... Try deleting 3IDRs and binary index, you can know which 3IDR belongs to which object beacuse they reference their TXMT and property sets.

But how am I supposed to know which binary index is for the hair, which is for the face, which is for the outfit... etc.?

Title: Re: Decostumized and Updated Exchange and Other Maxis Stuff - (Updated 2009/01/02)
Post by: Richief on 2009 January 12, 23:43:43
Try deleting 3IDRs and binary index, you can know which 3IDR belongs to which object beacuse they reference their TXMT and property sets.

3IDRs reference the item's mesh, its collection, its property set and its text lists. Clothing & hair usually have two 3IDRs, unless they came from BodyShop (not this case); the first one has the same group and instance as the property set (the one with name: Kurt Outfit, Julie Face, etc) and it references the object's mesh. The second one has the group and instance of the binary index, it references the item's collection and property set.

Example, Kurts Outfit's property set (GZPS) and 3IDR has:

GroupInstance
0xEF83431B0xD15BA3F8

Instance (high) or SubType/Class ID is always 0x0. You can now delete this two, you're missing BINX and another 3IDR. Open each 3IDR and look for the one that references Kurt Outfit property set, you can know this by seeing the Instance and Group number match the one of Kurt's (above). And that'll be:

GroupInstance
0xEF83431B0x315BA3FB

Delete 3IDR and BINX with this Instance and Group number. Now delete the mesh parts (GMND, CRES, SHPE, TXTR, etc) this one is easy. You're done

Thanks for posting some of that information for removing some of the extraneous information from the packages for the sims. If one wanted to remove just the facial template and the hair, but leave clothes and makeup (in several of those I have all ages versions of the hairs I prefer), would there be any other instructions I'd need?

Eh? I distinctly remember doing the glasses, maybe they didn't get uploaded. I was angry with the wigglers for being L&P when they were released so they haven't been very high on my to-do list  :P

If I find them I'll upload the glasses, but it'd be in my stash of files from a couple hard drive formats / years ago so I don't make any promises.

It would be nice if they could be decustomized, too.

I've wanted the heart-shaped glasses as well, and was surprised that they weren't included in the previously linked download from Argon.

Ignore my previous question, I somehow got rid of the archetypes by deleting the face paint in Body Shop. Anyways, another good thing to decustomize would be the Tata Young dress, since the hair is already included with Bon Voyage.

Deleting CC via Body Shop may cause BFBVFS. I recommend following the instructions I gave to SharonSims. I'll also include that dress in the next update.

Bah, I figured it wouldn't be that easy. :( I guess I'll just redownload the files and comb through them with SimPE, then. Thanks for the help.

I would like to ask you, do they work together with Argon's Decustomised Exchange Stuff ?
Also do you plan to incluede Andy, Lukas and Paolo in this great set together with Tata Young the Valentine & Easter stuff from the Exchange? Because in this case, I'll wait for your decostumized items. And maybe the Sims 2 Magazine items? As long as I know most of them are Maxis made objects.

Snooty Sims also posted a bit of news claiming that "several European Sims 3 sites posted a few objects for The Sims 2. Paintings, decorative objects, lamps and more, all with a Sims 3 theme."  But when I try to click on the link, I get a 404.  It's a shame because Snooty shows what looks like a cute wind chime-y looking thing up for download.  If anyone can get the link working, major kudos to you.
