Title: Default replacement witch skin using Enayla's Pixie Emerald.
Post by: spookymuffin on 2008 November 27, 14:57:44
Due the recent shenanigans at the InSimenator regarding it coming under new management and possibly going pay in the future I've decided to post some of my files elsewhere.

Anywho, here's the thread from InSim:

"[rant]I got Apartment Life today and I was horrified when I saw the texture that EAxis had made for the evil witches. It looked like someone had literally painted my sim green; there is very little shading or detail on the default witch skin. Not to mention the fact that the scalp texture and teen male body texture are a different shade of green leaving you with a witch that's covered in lines![/rant]

So I spent this morning making a replacement file and luckily for me, Enayla released a green skin the other day that makes a lovely replacement for the maxis crappiness.

Huge thanks go to Enayla who most of the credit should go to, all I did was make the replacement file itself.

Works for males and females, teen-elder, just stick it in your downloads folder."

Teen and adult female.

Isn't the scalp texture issue fixed in creaturefixes?

Probably. But I made this replacement the first time I ran AL and was still waiting for the DC to be updated.

And that answers why my evil witches still have the nasty scalp. *Goes to switch load order*

Yes, this will have to load after creaturefixes if you want Enayla-green instead of EAxis green.

This is probably a very stupid question but sorry I'm not tech minded but how do you 'switch load order'

The game loads stuff alphabetically. If you want something to be loaded last, rename the file it so it's at the end of the alphabet. Folders count too, so if you use folders you have to think about which folder is going to be loaded first, and then change names accordingly.

I guess I'll have to move my skintones out of the "genetics" folder and into it's own so that it loads after "Hacks."

I just have the following folders:

ZHacks
ZZDefaultReplacements
ZZZSkinAndEyes

And have never had any problems. Every other folder is just named for what's in it, like Objects, Clothing, Maxis Match, Hair, Makeup, etc.

I separate skintones and eyes for a reason that I can't exactly recall, but it also has to do with loading order. I started doing it so long ago that I can't remember why exactly it's that way or what it's supposed to solve. Oh well.

Of course you also have to watch out for hacks that need to be loaded after other hacks, so the hacks folder itself has to be organized, too.

Just change name of the folder to "igenetics" - it's so crazy it just might work.

Possibly I should just rename my default replacements folder from _Default Replacements (putting it at the top) to zDefault Replacements. I haven't even had a chance to test the one I am using, which is HP's witch overlay remover. (And it's a good thing most of the modders who actively plan for potential conflicts with Pescado's mods and intend for their hacks to load later have names that start with letters that come after P; saves so much trouble.)

This is a great skin.  I have all Enayla skins for my Sims, now I just need a decent one for the genie and I'm good.
I saw the other one posted but I don't like the design on his forehead with that skin.

Engram has made a genie replacement using Enayla's Pixie Bruise, a purple skintone with no designs on it at all. It's definitely at inSim, unsure if it's elsewhere also.

Cool, it seems insim is down... or I'm having problems getting the page to load so if you want to share please do so.
Thank you.

I usually grab them as soon as I find them because I  have memory issues.
