Title: Store Stuff
Post by: bzrburns on 2008 November 04, 22:14:33
New Medieval Stuff added to the store. Sorry I could only get 3 of the Male outfits. I only had $5 bucks to spend. I am missing the 4th selection. I haven't even seen all the new additions so I hope some of the rest of you  can also "spread the wealth around."  ::)

Am I the only one getting empty packages for the hair?

Edit:
The clothing works, there are three empty packages (two female, one male). Also one male clothing shows up but it is weird (borked Lifo).

Two hair packages are not working; "afhairfullbob" and "afhairlongloosebraid". The other two DO work.

I have 300 points so I am going to grab 3 of the adult female Hair do we have any already?

Title: Re: Store Stuff
Post by: bzrburns on 2008 November 05, 07:19:07
I have added an updated file for you all to download. I've experienced much the same problems have you have. For some reason the SCSKINS package file isn't being updated. I had to delete it  several times to allow the EA downloader to re update.  I have the same problem with the corrupt black knight skin (no clue what the deal is with that) but now all the hair files and all the female outfits are now showing up in CAS.

Post by: Andistyr on 2008 November 05, 07:51:19
The afbodymedievalceltic_purple, ambodychainmailleknight_blue, afhairfullbob, and the afhairlongloosebraid are empty packages.  I looked at the hair and the clothes with the clean installer.  Somebody who knows what they are doing could see if they could fix the messed up black knight skin.

The messed up black knight is hopeless broken the biggest texture has a corrupted alpha and because of this texture is also ruined. There is nothing we can do. I would suggest to wait with redownload because it looks like they are still working on the fileservers. If i go to the store site there is nothing listed in clothing and hair. Maybe its fixed later.

Here is the message i get if i open the borked packagefiles in SIMPE.

Quote
Message:
SimPe does not support this type of file.

SimPe is a package editor for Sims2 packages.
Spore packages are NOT supported.

There is a big mess at the store.

The best way to find this stuff, btw, is to go to the Collections area of the store, where you can go to Exclusives, then Castle, and it should have everything (right down to 2-4 versions of various hairstyles and outfits for multiple ages). But right now it seems like we'd better watch the BBS for reports of an update. :P

Thought I'd let everybody know I reported the messed up black and red knight outfit.  I even included the picture that Richief had put up just so that Maxis would have proof that it needs fixing.  They have a Sims 2 Store stuff thread over at the site on the BBS.  I had reported the problem there and included that picture.  Hope they fix it.

nekonoai, I'll make (and update) the collections, once we get all the stuff.

I'll see if I can buy the castle set and some other stuff; I specially like the chest, door, arch and window. I may buy them today, perhaps tomorrow. So do not spend your money there.

Unfortunately, The Sims Store does not accept my credit card (I'm from Mexico). Weird, my card got accepted three times , perhaps they updated their system to only accept US and Canada credit cards. Sorry, but I cannot contribute this time.

PS: I got 25 pts, is there a way to transfer them?

Title: Re: Store Stuff
Post by: Andistyr on 2008 November 06, 02:39:30
That's ok Richief - I plan on buying $20 worth of points Friday (my husband says I have to wait till Friday).  I'll buy what's needed.  I thought I'd start with the objects that aren't bought at that time and I should still have points left over to buy some more of the clothes and hair.

Edit:  I don't think there is a way to transfer points - if there is, I'm not sure on how - Just wanted to thank everyone who bought and shared so far.  I'll do my part on Friday.

Here is what clothes and hair that are left -

Clothing & Hair:
Adult Female: Celtic Princess Dress in Purple (75 pts).

Adult Male: The Blue Knight (75 pts),  The Red and White Knight (75 pts), Lord of the Manor in Black (75 pts), Lord of the Manor in Blue (75 pts), Lord of the Manor in Red (75 pts), and Chainmaille Adult Male Hairstyle (100 pts).

Female Child: Celtic Girl's Dress in Blue (75 pts), Celtic Girl's Dress in Green (75 pts), Celtic Girl's Dress in Purple (75 pts), Celtic Girl's Dress in Red (75 pts).

Elder Female: Celtic Queen Dress in Teal (75 pts), Celtic Queen Dress in Purple (75 pts), Celtic Queen Dress in Red (75 pts), and Celtic Queen Dress in White (75 pts).

Elder Male: The Black and Red Veteran Knight (75 pts), The Blue Veteran Knight (75 pts), The Red Veteran Knight (75 pts), Duke of the Manor in Black (75 pts), Duke of the Manor in Blue (75 pts), and Duke of the Manor in Red (75 pts).

Teen Female: Celtic Baroness Dress in Teal (75 pts), Celtic Baroness Dress in Purple (75 pts), Celtic Baroness Dress in Red (75 pts), Celtic Baroness Dress in White (75 pts), and the Cute Bowl Cut (100 pts).

Teen Male: The Black and Red Young Knight (75 pts), The Blue Young Knight (75 pts), The Red Young Knight (75 pts), The Red and White Young Knight (75 pts), Lord of the Manor in Black (75 pts), Lord of the Manor in Blue (75 pts), Lord of the Manor in Red (75 pts), and Chainmaille Teen Male Hairstyle (100 pts).

I noticed that the adult female celtic purple and the adult male blue knight outfits are empty packages.  That's why I have them listed.

Just went into Bodyshoop, and the files still needed for bodyshop are:

Child: The little girl dresses
Teen: Both Male and Female Clothing
Elder: Both Male and Female Clothing
Adult Female: Purple Dress
Adult Male: Chain mail hair, Red and White Knight, Blue Knight, and the Black and Red knight has the bad file.  Also the Lord of the Manor Clothes.

I'd love to contribute to this, but seeing as I just lost my job, money's a little tight.  Maybe I'll ask the hubby in the morning if I can get at least a small something to help.

Edit: The female hair is enabled for Elders. For the person that wanted to know.

Tried the castle bed in game last night and found it strange that the only bedding available to it was the old EA bedding. None of any new bedding and none of my custom bedding was showing in the catalog for this bed. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

Let it be noted that all the bedding is showing up in my buy catalog for all other EA beds and my custom beds.

Title: Re: Store Stuff
Post by: ShortyBoo on 2008 November 07, 20:55:21
I haven't checked the stuff in game yet, but I hope if there is a problem, the bed can be fixed. I never use EAxis's bedding except maybe the few new ones added in the last few packs.

Title: Re: Store Stuff
Post by: Andistyr on 2008 November 07, 22:18:52
I just checked the bed in my game and it works.  There are 2 bedding that came with the bed - one is blue with some castle design on it and the other is brown and gold with some castle design on it and the custom bedding shows up too.

Title: Re: Store Stuff
Post by: Writin_Reg on 2008 November 07, 22:39:58
Boy this is strange. I think I'm going to delete this one and try a redownload and  reinstall of the bed. Maybe I missed something the first go around.

As for the hair styles, I didn't try them yet. I just tried the bed and the castle build stuff. I made a tiny castle on one of those special tiny lots for a new sims I have with "airs".  Or it looks like someone who'd look down at their noses at others anyway.

Thanks everyone for answering. By the way on those EA bedding I didn't even show any of the newer bedding just the old fugly as hell stuff. I could have tolerated the newer ones, but not those.

OK, off to try again.

Anyone know if I can change the codes on the items (using SimPE) to make them viewable in BV?  I have all expansions through BV and KBID packs and none of them show.

As BastDawn posted http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12303.msg348611.html#msg348611 (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12303.msg348611.html#msg348611) here.

Quote
I chatted with Pescado about this in grah.  The objects are not showing up for people who have not installed the EA downloader because it creates a sort of Stuff Pack for them.  To use the files without the downloader, they must be converted to a base-game code.  It's easy: load the file into SimPE, open the OBJD, and edit field "0x0040" to say 0x1 instead of 0x1000.  Commit for each OBJD and save.

Try the instructions in this post by Bastdawn (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12303.msg348611.html#msg348611).  Earlier in that thread is also another suggestion for creating a directory structure which mimics what TSStore does to install objects.

If you modify the objects to work in earlier EP configurations, would you mind posting again to share? :)

ShortyBoo which EPs have you installed? Store Hair needs FT or later EP and latest FT patch to be visible in BS and Game.

Thanks to jaldeer it was possible to fix the black and red Knight we got from bzrburns  because Elder has the same Texture as Adult.

Just a quick note, the chainmaille hair that's for adult and teen males, doesn't show up in bodyshop, just CAS.  I noticed when I started up bodyshop, that the adult male black and red knight outfit was ok.  I had reported it messed up.  I'm guessing it got fixed.   But, I'd rather have  Havelock's fixed version.  Thanks Havelock for fixing it and the teen modern bowl cut.   I hope they're done with new things at the Sims 2 Store.  I'm sure they'll add stuff from Apartment Life and Mansions and Garden after it comes out.

Store Hair needs FT or later EP and latest FT patch to be visible in BS and Game.

Is this something that can be fixed in SimPE as with some of the earlier store objects Havelock?  Or do you think the game engine itself must be upgraded?

Also, has anyone else noticed that the single-story, 2-tile door has fucked shadows?  The left side of the double door is distinctly darker than the other in my game.  ???

Yes you could change the EP/SP bits in Propertyset. You could look in the older Store tread what bits EPs have.

Yes its the same in my Game but all 2-tile doors have it, its not only the Store door.

Aren't ALL 2 tile doors like that? I don't think there's a fix for that.

Oh!  I was using TS2 on the Windows side to check out the store stuff, and I rarely do any actual playing with it. :D  Ironically, the mac version of the game is pretty much inferior in all respects, except this I suppose.  All double doors in my mac game display properly.

Thanks Havelock, for the info and the fixes.  I shall research and learn. :)

This is true, Castle Bed doesn't accept custom beddings. It only accepts basegame and BV beddings. I made a fix for it. Download here (http://www.mediafire.com/?jdnwy2zu5yx).

Fixes:
- Castle bed accepts all beddings including custom ones.
- Castle beddings are available to all beds, not only this one.
- Removed duplicate files.

Here is an utterly dumb question. I have *tried* to read all of the posts about the store before asking this but, what ep does the game need for the objects from the spooky and medievil sets? The cubic and deco show up fine and all the clothing and hair from every set does as well but the furnishings do not. I have FT as my latest ep (with no patch). Is there any suggestion as to making this work? Sorrry to waste post space  :'(

I have been using the Store hair and clothing in a couple of different installation setups; up to Seasons only, and up to Bon Voyage only, without any trouble with the package files in a subfolder of my Downloads folder. My main computer that I play Sims 2 on does not have the EADM software on it, either. Therefore, I have not found the above quote to be correct.

*Thanks to everyone here for their generous sharing.

I've found the same to be true for the hair and clothes.  Skins appear properly in my BV game without modification.

Objects are a different matter.  So far, I've been able to get all the Cubic and Deco objects to show up except for the dining chairs in my game, so I think those require FT+.  The Spooky objects mostly don't show up in my BV game.  I can get maybe half of them going, even after checking the EP flags to be sure they are set for base game.  If they don't work in FT either, then I guess they must have true AL dependencies.  Of the Castle objects, I managed to get all but the bed and chest to show up.

I haven't given up hope for those last 2 objects, though.  I'm still looking into whether the bed can be made compatible for earlier EPs.  I have a SimPE question in regard to this though: I have SimPE installed next to an AL game, so I cannot clone an appropriate bed to get the resources.  Could someone toss me a cloned Maxis bed from a Pets/Seasons game installation?

Once I get some idea of whether I can expect to include the bed and chest in a timely fashion, I'll offer up whatever objects I have.

Title: Re: Store Stuff

I also only have expansions to BV installed.  I set the flags as per the post by Bastdawn and everything shows up in game excluding the chest and bed, and the single story spooky windows, spooky columns, and the deco bar stool.

All the hair and skins show up just fine in my regular Downloads folder.

I'm having similar issues with Sims Store objects showing up in my game.  I'm a Mac user, so I have all Sims EPs and SPs that are out for Macs (EPs through BV, plus FFS, GLS, and Holiday).  All Cubic and Deco objects show up with the exception of the dining chairs.  Most of the Spooky objects don't (with a couple of exceptions).  So I'm basically having the same results as seelindarun.

Given that, I expected to have all Castle objects show up in my game except for the bed and chest.  But I currently don't have a single Castle object showing up.  I have no idea if this has to do with base game flags or not - SimPE isn't available for native Mac environments, so I can't check this out or fix this problem on my own.  Do the objects posted in this thread have base game flags?  If not, is this something someone might be able to help me out with?

Many, many thanks for any and all help.

The earlier links for Castle objects didn't have base game flags.  I have done this now; this set (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=0ebec3ba58c50333d2db6fb9a8902bda) doesn't include any version of the bed nor the decorative chest, because I could not make them load properly in earlier EPs.  If someone else would like to try it, I'd welcome that.  I tried to replace all of the resources I could think of that might have been updated in AL (BCON, TRCN, BHAV, TTAs, TTAB, OBJf, STR#), but did not meet with success. :(

To reiterate, the objects in this set may not be compatible with the base game even though flags were set, and in fact many objects probably won't be.  If you cannot see some objects with your EP configuration, it's because the object has intrinsic dependencies on a missing EP.

Most Castle Objects are Pets enabled which means bed has joints for pets to sleep and slots for sratch and chew on them. Its the same with other objects if one has no Pets EP Objects may not show up in Game.

Something different is going on with the Castle bed, though.  I tried to load it (with basegame flags set) into a game with all EPs up to BV.  When that didn't work, I replaced resources which I extracted from a cloned Colonial bed (with EPs up to BV), so I think the Pets issue is covered.  Nonetheless, I must have done it wrong, or else I'm replacing the wrong resources.

Interestingly, none of my experiments caused the Castle bed to break in my AL game; it just absolutely refused to load into the BV game no matter how I mangled it. ???

Since I don't think it's been posted yet.. I've made a package for Elder Male "The Red and White Veteran Knight"
Unfortunately, I can't buy from the store, so it's just a recolor of the mesh using the texture from the Adult outfit (Better than nothing in my opinion!)  It'll show up along with the other store outfits.  I didn't include the mesh in the package, so you will need one of the other outfits of this mesh.

seelindarun, I just wanted to thank you so much for the base-game-flagged castle set you shared. I'm on a mac with all eps up to BV and everything showed up perfectly, the windows let light in too :)

Is there any chance you could also do the deco & cubic desk chairs? And the spooky set? (Only the small gargoyle, streetlight, and wall light show up for me.) Please please please?

Yeah I do have all EPs and all SPs except for ikea and H&M or did have until my computer crashed Saturday night in the middle of furnishing the castle. :'( .
Before that I had experimented a bit and the castle windows were not casting light into the room like the other windows but the room was not suffering a hit to the enviroment score like it would have if it had no light.
Now that I think about it maybe it was my graphics card because I'm pretty sure that is what caused the crash.

Snoopy, the items you mention do not currently work for Macs.  As I understand it, they need resources from one of the EPs we don't have yet in order to work properly.  The Castle bed and treasure chest are the same way, which is why seelindarun didn't include those objects when he/she changed the object flags for this most recent set.

I've been having trouble getting my game to load with this stuff installed.  The Cubic and Deco sets both crash my game as soon as the loading screen is about to fade to the neighbourhood-choosing-thing.  I changed field 0040 to 0x0001 in SimPE, to no effect.  Is this because I only have the base game and University, or did I screw something up while editing?

Title: Re: Store Stuff
Post by: seelindarun on 2008 November 17, 21:39:27
Please read the thread you are posting in.  We've already discussed the problem of missing EPs with respect to store objects.  The issues with mac players with BV have nothing to do with macs specifically.  They apply to anyone who does not have a complete set of EPs up to AL.

To elaborate on what Grania wrote, the objects which will not load for BV players require more extensive modification than just setting flags.  (Read my earlier post in this thread for an idea of what I tried on the Castle bed as an example.)  Essentially, it's the same principle as updating CC for later EPs, except in reverse.  If you want to learn, there are tutorials for this.  Unfortunately, even though I understand what must be done in theory, I don't have enough experience to know which resources need to be replaced for each object x each EP.  For some objects, it would probably be easier to remake them from scratch using only the mesh from the store object.  I continue to read and learn and try different things with those stubborn objects, but it's mostly just to advance my own learning process.  Anyone else who is interested should feel free to try their hand at it.

Castle Bed, Castle treasure chest, and the two dining chairs work for me. All EP, H&M, K&B, Ikea, and now M&G. Worked before M&G. I can't speak for the spooky items as I had no interest in them.

Title: Re: Store Stuff
Post by: seelindarun on 2008 November 24, 18:29:47
Please don't spread the confusion, Zazazu.  Grania, professorbutters (PB) and I were posting about which store objects work if you have all EP/SPs in OS X.  FT/AL/M&G are not available for macs.

However, it doesn't actually matter whether you're on a mac or PC.  If you have all EPs up to BV, Grania's list of broken TSStore objects is accurate.

Grania, could you please edit your post to explicitly include what EPs you have, instead of posting "all EPs".  I'm sure professorbutters isn't the last to ask about this, and it would be nice to be able to link to your post, for the benefit of anyone (mac or PC) who has your EP configuration.

hhmm lets see  a new theme came out yetesday an a new thread was made for it?   so i'm guessing yes we're doing a new thread for each theme  ::) as there 4 sim store threads already

I think we can stick with having one stickied thread for the newest set while we're collecting (and repairing) its files, and a main sticky for the completed sets to download.  It keeps things current and is less confusing.

Is there any possiblilty that someone might be willing to upload the Holiday Stuff From the store to here? I've tried Dling it from TPB & Mininova but it gave me viruses & a bunch of other stuff. It would be much appreciated.  :-[

Considering the legal threats, probably not.  MediaFire on the other hand.....   ::)

Why should we spend money on stuff that is already working? Try Mininova or any other torrent source.

I downloaded mine from Mininova and I don't have viruses, nor a bunch of other stuff  ::). Follow the instructions I gave earlier and you'll probably have a bunch of holiday items.

Hi! Thanks a whole lot everyone! Will someone make them available for those who live in Europe and elsewhere who can't download the simsstore objects? I just love the haircuts! Thanks everyone!

They have been posted in the thread, but if you would like them sorted and renamed try:
Castle Set Clothes (http://www.mediafire.com/?mtizmmx0myo)
Castle Set Hairs (http://www.mediafire.com/?mky4xoox3uw)
 Castle Set Objects (http://www.mediafire.com/?qn1kljmjkum)
Castle Set Walls (http://www.mediafire.com/?l2ime2dm0fw)

Edit: The only thing missing is EM The Red and White Veteran Knight skin.

The link to Mediafire for these sets and for Havelock's Fixed Set in the reply#49 above, show an invalid file error.  Quote:  "Invalid File. This error has been forwarded to MediaFire's development team.
The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire."

Was this intentionally removed by Havelock and NoneTheLess?

Doesn't matter. Go here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ab4f7dc872c7b3cd5c09f191a64e2498f25f26965a238973

I think we should merge all the store threads and update the first post with this link because mistyk's stuff has always work.
I notice that there are no TM clothes in that. Has no one bought them? Are they not top priority? ....it is of course possible that I missed the link to any linked in this thread. It is so long.
The school uniforms would make pretty good defaults.

The TM outfits are included in each set zip, the uniforms are part of the Asian Fusion set, they are the last files in the clothing folder. The separate files marked AF, AM & TF are the store exclusive outfits that were not part of any sets, which there were none for TM.

Ahh, this computers browser settings give some issue with the catalogs on the Store so I hadn't gone through all of the catalogs. It didn't really make sense to me for the uniforms to be in any of the collections up.
