Title: Zapped apartment townies stay gone forever!
Post by: Inge on 2008 September 04, 15:21:36
I have just discovered if you delete or zap an unplayable apartment neighbor, they never ever come back - and what's more they are never replaced.  Weird.  Dormies have always seemed to just turn up again.

I haven't tried moving out all playables and seeing if that resets the letting status.

Oh fun. They should at least have another one take their place.

I've been killing the new townies off to grace a graveyard. Since I only had about 30 new character files, it works. Guess I'll have to make sure I don't touch the ones living in my one apartment complex.

Why this seems particularly bizarre is that, just like Dormies, they are not actually present on the lot when they return to their apartments.  So the game does have to be reinstantiating them a few times a day in any case.   I guess hacking the tenant controller is probably better than crippling my teleporter's "clear off" option.

If I could just clarify this please... So if I use Inge's teleporter, zapping the unplayables will delete them permanently from the game or is it simply that they don't come back to the lot during that game play?

If you get the updated teleporter, it is now adjusted to avoid zapping apartment neighbors or roommates (unless you pick on them individually).

No in anycase they're still in the game, they just don't seem to appear on the lot again.
