This is a dream come true. I have always hoped for a more expanded laptop that my Sims could study from. It makes more sense for collage students to have laptops.

Hi I tried this out today, and put laptops in some dorm rooms. I did not use all the interactions but let my sims write their term papers which worked just fine. Of course there was a certain amount of autonomous gamng after that. Later I noticed that the SSX sound effects were playing although all my sims were asleep, and found that one of the laptops was showing the game running and the soundtrack was playing as well, the sim was asleep in his dorm room and it was not bothering him. I woke him up and tried to make him turn it off, the interaction was there but it had no effect.

(for the record, I have all EPS, and all stuffs except H&M)

I have been tempted to try to code a lappy, along with the "Extremely Portable 42 Pounds" functionality.

If you do, the relevant differences between ordinary and laptop computers I'd like to see are: (1) actually portable, sims can take it out of inventory at a community lot cafe, much as they might take out an mp3 player; (2) more stealable.

Running out of battery power is optional.

I think this issue not linked directly to Laptop specified.
I have 4 dorms completed with lappy and no problem found. But I had problem like this with one of
Monique's comp.and Standard EAxian comp.too some time ago.Seems mostly it can happen in case when interaction was interrupted
in some not ordinary way(for ex.if you remove currently playing game sim from lot via teleporter
or after some partial lot reset(if some Global mod was installed)).
In this case SSXgame controller is still emitted and seems cannot be stopped even with Debug force error.
One of way to stop it is Move out playable(s)from this dorm and then Move in back again.

If I recall correctly, there were no such interruptions or resets, I installed the BV and FT patches, as well as K&B stuff some time before sending this particular group of sims to college and placing the dorm (a standard EAxis one from the bin).

Well,In this laptop I used standard EAxian BHAV for "play"interaction and it's surely not this comp.issue, but obviously one more EAxian bug.

I noticed a little strange issue with "Buy Computer Cost 1000"Want.
Buying this Laptop such want was not fullfilled who knows why....
I've changed price to 1100 and then it worked ok.So,if anybody have the same for this case you may simply change the price with SimCategorizer or SimPE if needs.

Must be EAxian as you say. I have noticed that since installing the patch a lot of things have gone wrong.

Could it be that this is eating novels? Or is incompatible with .. something?

I had it in yesterday, and whenever I directed a sim to Read Novel from the bookcase (standard maxian bookcase), they jumped/reset and then that novel was gone from the selection. I took out your laptop and one other hack ("No DisturbingBookcaseInteractions",  forgot by who but the file date is april 24th so I take it it ought to be FT compatible), and now the same sims can read the one remaining novel from the same bookcase just fine. I don't have any hack conflict detection utility at hand, sorry for the blackbox approach =).

This is Base+NL+OfB+Seasons+FTp0.

It cannot be linked to this comp.surely.Obviously some hacks conflict.
Glad to see you back :)
