Title: Decustomized and Updated Maxis Official Objects/Clothing (Updated 2008-10-10)
Post by: Lord Darcy on 2008 March 31, 15:06:07
I've been de-customizing and updating several Maxis official clothings and objects. (preorders/Exchange stuff)

What's the difference:

  • Objects were updated to Apartment Life, in case update is required.
  • Unrecolorable objects and formerly unrecolorable subset in recolorable objects were made recolorable.
  • Redundant resources like duplicate textures and animation files were removed to reduce the size. Compressed with jfade's compressorizer (http://www.djssims.com/index.php?category=1&subcat=5).
  • Custom star was removed from clothing/hair thumbnails. Instead they bear the corresponding EP/SP icon.
  • Clothings/hairs were categorized into the Maxis clothing bin, so they'll appear right beside similar Maxis stuff.
  • Unused hidden textures were retrieved.
  • Adult clothings were enabled for YAs.
  • Separate MMAT files for objects were integrated into the main 3D file to make one uncluttered package.
  • Object placement settings were adjusted, so that sculptures can be placed on OFB shelves and decorative slots like mantel or low dressers. Small sculptures can serve as centerpieces.
  • Decorative objects will give appropriate Enthusiasm in FT.
  • New decorative slots were created on top of some objects.
  • Minor bugs were fixed, like borked shoe sound on some clothings.

       (http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff243/creamgray/The%20Sims%202/Maxis_Preorder_EP3_Mascot_Hair.jpg) (http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff243/creamgray/The%20Sims%202/Maxis_Preorder_EP3_Mascot_Outfit.jpg)

Decustomized OFB preorder Chicken Mascot Suit. They bear OFB icon, and will appear grouped with other OFB mascot costumes/hairs.

The 3 lost H&M outfits were originally done by Argon (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,8623.msg238322.html#msg238322). I only tweaked sortidx number a bit to my liking. Many thanks to Argon, who inspired me to start this project in the first place.

Download Standalone version (http://www.mediafire.com/?mnjc1yiulzg)

If you want to put them into Bins folder under Program Files\EA GAMES to avoid custom star, you need to put zLdDarcy_IKEAPreorderCEP.package into your Downloads folder to make them recolorable. Not needed if you put IKEA preorders into your Downloads folder.

MANDAL dresser now comes in two sizes. Smaller version requires OFB or later, and pulls textures from the large dresser. Both have 3 decorative slots enabled on top. Thanks to Heli for the information on the bigger mesh.

Thanks a lot for these :D How did you control them so that they can appear beside similiar clothings? ???

How did you control them so that they can appear beside similiar clothings? ???

You have to edit Collection in 3D ID Referencing File (3IDR) and sortindex in Binary Index (BINX) in outfits and hairs. Enable debug mode in CAS to find out Bin Key for Maxis clothing/hair bin into which you want to put your stuff, edit Collection in 3IDR to match the Bin Key.
Find out Frag Sort Idx in CAS debug mode, and adjust sortindex in BINX accordingly. For example, I edited OFB female chicken hat to appear between Ninja hair (Frag Sort Idx is around 130) and Gorilla hair (Frag Sort Idx is around 190). So I gave it a new Frag Sort Idx around 180 by editing sortindex in BINX. It's more complicated for hairs, as all five hair colors have different Frag Sort Idx numbers.

I have all of the preorder bonuses and I have never preordered.  You just have to know where/who to get them from.

I read above that these were all updated up to Free Time, but they shouldn't all require that EP to function properly, should they?  I know that the TV will have tinkering enabled, so that cannot go in my BV game.  I'm wondering about the clothes, decorative objects, and the BV lamp.  Do they have some sort of enthusiasm linked to them?

Update is done only when it's required, like GLS TV or Coke Fridge. I wrote down the details of update for each object in the first post. If it does not explicitly say "Updated to XX" or "Requires XX", it will work for any EP.

Decorative objects like paintings or sculptures do not require update. They're just made recolorable, which has nothing to do with EP compatibility. Arts and Crafts enthusiasm for painting critique is handled globally, so it has nothing to do with the painting itself.
Decorative objects now give appropriate Enthusiasm in FreeTime when viewed, not just the default Arts & Crafts Enthusiasm. Small sculptures can be placed on the decorative slots like mantels or low dressers, and they work as valid centerpieces. They're still compatible with base game though, unless otherwise specified.

As for BV lamp, I edited only OFB shelf placement value. Not sure if it'll work for pre-OFB game, but by this time nearly everyone has at least one EP or SP newer than OFB.

2008-04-21: Added 2 Seasons preorders except for SwingSet and Trellis.
Adjusted placement settings for TSS Giraffe sculpture and FT RubberDucky, so that they can be placed on decorative slots like mantel and low dressers.

Swingset is a very complicated object, with 4 different meshes (standalone, left, center, right) and neighbourhood view meshes/textures. So I was unable to update it. I also removed Trellis which produced incomplete recolor packages without neighborhood view version. Get the original version from the link in the main post.

Thank you so much Lord Darcy - I have a question though - I hate to be a bother, but, could you do the 4 outfits from H&M Fashion Stuff too (the corset, buttoned dress, uniform shirt, & the janeoveralls)?  I did have those 4 outfits with the rest of the H&M clothes (I don't remember who did that), but, I can't find where I got it at and I swore I got it from here.

I attached H&M outfits to the main post.
The 3 lost outfits were originally done by Argon (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,8623.msg238322.html#msg238322). I only tweaked sortidx number a bit to my liking.

Thanks a lot for updating those objects. I have a little problem, though. I very stupidly downloaded and installed some of those objects as bundles, that had to be put somewhere in the gamefiles. I think I got those files from the peasantry as well.

Stupid me just can´t remember wherever I put those files and they must be overriding yours I put in the Download folder, as my GLS TV does not display the FT options.

I know this is not really related and very much my own fault, but I would really appreciate it, if someone has an idea, where one would have put those bundles in the game files, so that I can remove them. Feel free to just point and laugh as well.

Get thyself to MTS2, and download the Clean Installer.  Let it scan your Downloads directory, sort on the MD5 number, and duplicate files will be highlighted in pink.  Just delete the one with the older install date, and you good to go.

And while you're at it, use the CI to put your stuff in subdirectories, and ALWAYS use it to install downloaded lots, to keep old or unwanted crap out of your game.

You downloaded this version by Argon:

Stupid me just can´t remember wherever I put those files and they must be overriding yours I put in the Download folder, as my GLS TV does not display the FT options.

C:\-Path to Sims 2-\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins

AFAIR, all 3 GLS objects were integrated into one file called GLS.bundle.package in Argon's version. I made a separate package for each object, as some people only want functional objects without more decoratives to clutter up catalog.

Argon's "bundled" version is not really different from mine. In fact, I followed Argon's example in my version, integrating separate MMAT files into the main 3D file as well. You can use Argon's version in Downloads folder just like any other cc. He only suggested the above path so that official EAxis downloads aren't packaged into lots, resulting in bloated Sims2Packs. Plus you can avoid annoying custom star in thumbnails. I'm doing the same thing with my version in my game, putting all my preorder and official downloads in a subfolder under this path:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 [Your Latest Expansion Pack]\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins

(or the corresponding folder on your system if your game is not installed in C:\Program Files)

It's really great if you can remember the location you put the files. I hate custom star in official downloads, which should have been included in the game itself if greedy EAxis didn't cut them into separate promos.

Get thyself to MTS2, and download the Clean Installer.  Let it scan your Downloads directory, sort on the MD5 number, and duplicate files will be highlighted in pink.  Just delete the one with the older install date, and you good to go.

Clean Installer will not be of help in this case, as OP put the files not in Downloads folder but in game files folder.

Thank you for pointing me to the right path. My Downloads folder is nicely organised and maintained, but I just put a note with my backups, that I had installed the bundles in the gamefiles and forgot to write down where exactly.

It was a nice idea to reduce the amount of cc, but I guess I won´t do that anymore, as it is a hassle to update things this way. At least with my bad memory concerning where I actually put files.

No. Unlike Baby Blue Tuxedo, I didn't remove the gown mesh from preorder package. The blue gown mesh is slightly different from the wedding ball gown mesh included in Celebration. It will work standalone without Celebration pack.

Yes. Unlike skins, objects always bear Star of Shame when they are placed in Downloads. Same goes for hacks containing OBJD of Maxis objects. To avoid custom star, objects and hacks containing OBJD (like nohumble) should go here.

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 [Your Latest Expansion Pack]\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins *

(or the corresponding folder on your system if your game is not installed in C:\Program Files)

I made several subfolders in Bins and put all preorder objects/hacks to there.

* This location may not work for SP objects later than Celebration for pre-FT games, or even for unpatched FT.

The b0rked dresser issue is discussed here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12310.0.html). You can get functional (yet unfinished) version from that thread.
As for preorder dining chair, it works fine in my game. It snaps into the table/desk without problem. Are you sure you don't have something blocking dining chair?

Sim cannot sit  on from one site. One site is ok, another no. Then the chair snap into the desk, the shadow left on the old place. Maybe is it only in my game.
Can you look at this and big thanks.
Yours version of the dresser is perfect. Slots  :-*. It would be fine to have the orginal bigger one too. But with the slots and groundshadow darker.
The strind table has also to light shadow.
One more thanks.

Confirmed the problem with immobile groundshadow. Not sure if I'm able to fix it though, as I've never seen such a thing before.

In my game, Sims can sit on and get out of the Nominell chair from both sides. Which desk/table are you using, and where did you put the desk in the room? Screenshot needed.

The immobile Shadow could be caused if the Chair has one GMDC for the Chair and another for the Shadow. Some Barstools and one of the wooden Basegame Diningchairs have the same Issue.

I managed to fix immobile shadow. Thanks for letting me know where to look, Havelock. I'd be totally clueless without your help.

Sorry, is the Free Time desk, the sim can not sit on the chair. With the desk from Base Game work ok.

The footprint of Nominell chair was slightly larger than most dining chairs, resulting in blockage when used with certain desks/tables. I fixed it as well.

I'll upload them as soon as I'm done testing.

Title: IKEA Preorders (Updated 2008-09-15)
Post by: Lord Darcy on 2008 July 05, 12:53:30
2008-07-05: Added all 5 IKEA Home Stuff preorders. Decorative objects now give appropriate Enthusiasm in FreeTime. Adjusted placement settings for small sculptures. (EP7, SP2, SP3, SP6 and SP7 were updated. Go to the first post to get them all in one big RAR.)

All 5 IKEA preorder objects now require IKEA Home Stuff.

If you want to put IKEA preorders into Bins folder under Program Files\EA GAMES to avoid custom star, you need to put zLdDarcy_IKEAPreorderCEP.package into your Downloads folder to make them recolorable. It's like a mini CEP only for IKEA preorder objects. (Not needed if you put IKEA preorders into your Downloads folder.) It's needed because unfinished meshes for all 5 preorder objects are already included in the IKEA pack itself. If you put IKEA preorders into Bins folder, they would not be able to override the unfinished meshes located in IKEA 3D folder, making them unrecolorable. I couldn't roll IKEA TV Screen Fix into FT functions fix for the same reason.

This is the most fucked-up set of preorders that I had to tackle to this day. >:( Dresser is a non-functional total FUBAR. They managed to b0rk such a simple thing as a dining chair with immobile shadow and too large footprint. Not to mention the wrong repairing animation for TV. Broken wallshadows. No doubt the same idiotic team responsible for Store LolPayShit (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12303.msg348530.html#msg348530) must have worked on this set as well.

Yours version of the dresser is perfect. Slots  :-*. It would be fine to have the orginal bigger one too. But with the slots and groundshadow darker.

The fucked-up mesh in preorder package and originally intended mesh found in IKEA pack are identical in size and appearance. By "OFB Small Dresser", I meant the OFB-style low dresser with 3 slots on top. I didn't mean another resized smaller mesh. Sorry for the confusion. I was wrong, the mesh in the preorder package itself IS indeed bigger. Will look into salvaging this bigger mesh as a separate dresser.

2008-07-09: IKEA Dresser and TV were updated.

MANDAL dresser now comes in two sizes. Smaller version requires OFB or later, and pulls textures from the large dresser. Both have 3 decorative slots enabled on top. Thanks to Heli for the information on the bigger mesh.
You have to sell and rebuy objects for them to pick up change.

Fixed wallshadows for dresser and TV.

"Standalone" version that does not require IKEA pack is now available as well. It's not updated to Pets or FT, so DIY (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11264.msg317089.html#msg317089).
Download Standalone version (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11573.msg351214.html#msg351214)

2008-08-01: IKEA End Table and both Dressers were updated.

Added a decorative slot for IKEA STRIND end table. Slightly adjusted slot positions and reduced slot overlapping for both IKEA MANDAL dressers.

2008-09-08: Updated Benno TV to AL. Elders can watch TV while lounging on sofas.

For Lord Darcy and other interested People i have made the woodcolors you could buy the Benno TV Stand. You must have the Recolorable TV Lord Darcy posted here to use the recolors.
I used woodtextures EAxis made so they match every other IKEA Stuff Object with the same woodcolors. You could buy a medbrown Stand also but there was no texture so i created one. But i think she is to dark i will upload separate if done correct.
Textures are made complete from scrach so they may be not so technically perfect but i have done my best.

You have to click Start first in Object Workshop to read all resources from game files, THEN open the object package to produce a new recolor package.

Dear Darcy, can you make the IKEA preorders not requiring IKEA SP?
Usually I don't do multiple versions, but in this case I think I'll make an exception, as this set is so very FUBAR'ed.

I have the orginal dresser. I only deleted animation ressource in it. Now it working for me fine. I have all EP´s and Mini packs. But this dresser has no groundshadow ( bug ??)

I'm sorry, you were right. The mesh in bonus package IS indeed larger than the one included in IKEA pack. I must have put the unedited package in Bins folder when I was testing, so smaller mesh in IKEA pack must have overriden the larger mesh.
I'll look into salvaging this larger mesh as a separate dresser, with repository technique applied to pull textures from the smaller version.

For Lord Darcy and other interested People i have made the woodcolors you could buy the Benno TV Stand. You must have the Recolorable TV Lord Darcy posted here to use the recolors.
Thanks Havelock for awesome recolors! *baaaaa*

2008-07-09: IKEA Dresser and TV were updated. New version is attached in this post (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11573.msg350058.html#msg350058).

It's not updated to Pets, FT or AL, so DIY (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11264.msg317089.html#msg317089).

Thanks Lord Darcy! I tried to update the Tv myself but the animations weren't ok and the Tv was badly placed after tinkering.

One question; where can I find a tutorial to make custom stuff recolourable? I cannot find any in MTS2 or google.

Explained here. (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11264.msg334472.html#msg334472) I only discovered this while updating IKEA TV.

I don't think I've seen a tutorial either. I just worked it out myself looking into CEP.

Basically, you need to add a new block named tsDesignModeEnabled to the GMND, and add new MMATs for all recolorable subsets.
This tutorial (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=229452) will be of help if you don't know how to add a new block to GMND. (Look for the part "8. Editing the Geometric Node".) While this tutorial is about adding tsMaterialsMeshName, it's basically the same process. Instead of String, you have to add new Arrays for all recolorable subsets. Looking into CEP file (_EnableColorOptionsGMND.package) or a clone of another recolorable object will give you an idea.

To make a new MMAT, make a throwaway clone of another object, edit modelName, name, objectGUID and subsetName, extract/add.

And how can I remove an object's recolorability? I don't care because I don't want any recolor of the pre-order bonuses, it's just because of this ugly line:

I tried to delete the tsDesignModeEnabled block but if I do that, the game crashes when entering the seating section of Buy Mode. :-\

Don't touch GMND. Just deleting MMATs will do.

Yes, but it looks misaligned, it's too close to the left (which doesn't happen with default EAxis's objects).

Really? I deleted the tsDesignModeEnabled for all your fixed objects (because I don't like them to be recolorable except for the Benno Tv and Mandal Dresser) and everything is OK for me, all of the objects are functioning correctly and there's no game crashes, except for the chandelier which still is recolorable.

It's OK only if you know what you're doing, which clearly isn't the case with OP. Deleting MMATs is a much safer alternative.

The line is there because I made both subsets (fabric and frame) to be recolorable.
Yes, but it looks misaligned, it's too close to the left (which doesn't happen with default EAxis's objects).

I'd like to find out how to remove that line too. But the same happens for all objects with two subsets which were only made recolorable by CEP.

EAxis objects have at least one Recolor.

I'd like to find out how to remove that line too. But the same happens for all objects with two subsets which were only made recolorable by CEP.

You could not remove her she is part of the UI. The line appears correct if you have at least one recolor. She is centered between the subsets and has a minimum lenght witch causes the weird look if you have only the original colors and no recolors.

Thanks for the information. Glad I've made no mistake on my part. I did notice that the Deluxe preorder jukebox which you've made recolorable along with several recolors didn't have that ugly misaligned line.
Your recolors look simple and nice. Care to share when you're finished?

ETA: /me baaaaas over the set of actually matching recolors and shakes fist at EAxis's laziness

If one like to have them why not. I made the colors you could buy the Nominell (black and green) and the Skruvsta Chair (black and white).
For the Nominell Chair there is a issue with the green recolor if you zoom out you get a small white gap on the seat. Its caused by EAxis way to map him nothing i could do against this.

I tried that but the dress isn't in the mega download and also the link does work but when I install, zero files install.  I even tried the clean pack installer.  I have windows XP if that helps.  I have to use SimMaid or Clean Pack installer for raw files.  Everything else installs fine.

It is. Look for the file tagged with DoubleDX.

and also the link does work but when I install, zero files install.
I don't understand the "install" part. It extracts just fine for me. What do you use to extract RAR file, anyway? I use WinRAR, but 7-zip will work just fine.

I even tried the clean pack installer.
It's just an ordinary RAR file, clean pack installer won't work.

Why don't you get WinRAR or 7-zip like everyone else, instead of resorting to some obscure program? 7-zip is fast and free. I don't know about Mac, but I'm sure there is a widely used archiving utility for Mac users. I have no intention of changing my upload to suit your particular need when there are plenty of excellent archiving utilities available.

From memory, it's an old program, the file maid decompresses files and puts them in the download folder. It probably wouldn't know about 7zip. I've read somewhere that users just drag a file onto the grass.  ::)

You really don't need it Crow. Just google how to download and use Winrar or 7zip, or both. Take control of your downloads!

ETA: Actually, I thought it was a sims 1 app, it's so old.

If you put IKEA preorders in Bins folder, you also have to update IKEA CEP in your Downloads folder. And you have to sell exisiting end tables and re-buy them to pick up the change.

-Amelia (teen female vampire dress from MaxoidMonkey, under Nightlife, missing red dress added)
-Bartholomew (teen male vampire outfit from MaxoidMonkey, under Nightlife)
-Benny (Celebration Stuff preorder suit)
-Bessie (Celebration Stuff preorder gown)
-Billy (OFB chicken suit)
-Elena (Seasons rainslicker preorder, reflection on boots replaced)
-Fiona (valentines day underwear from MaxoidMonkey; has heels)
-George (HHS preorder glasses, fixed for Pets ep?)
-Shelby (FFS preorder; uses University mesh and fixed creepy flesh colored lace)
-Sofia (Seasons preorder swim suit, fixed footstep sounds and there might have been something else)
-Andy Sim's hair (complete family, toddler uses hidden curly texture, on my self sim, shows up under base game)
-Lucas Sim's hair (complete family, shows up under base game)
-Hilary Duff/Jenn Sim's hair (complete family, normal blond texture, shows up under Pets)
-Argon_afbodyrainslicker_fixes (links the floating reflective material definition for the boots on those outfits)

Lord Darcy it means the original Dress has 3 Subsets and 3 Materialdefinitions but the 3IDR has only one Materialdefinition listed wich causes Skintone layered under the alpha Part. Its the same as with the Seasons Female Rockstar Outfit.

The mesh is never seen on adult sims since it's a young adult only outfit, that's probably why you never knew. Feel free to include them Lord Darcy  ;D

I thought I had followed L.D.'s tutorial right - this is the first time I've updated a computer.  I updated a bunch of custom content I had alright.  Since this computer didn't get updated, I thought I'd give it a try.  Someone with experience could fix it if I didn't do something right - it looked/worked ok in the game (I don't have Apartment Life installed yet).

I was re-reading L.D.'s tutorial on updating computers and it says "Computers are one of those "exceptions" that I mentioned earlier. As of FT, pie menus of computers are handled in semi-global level. No need to fiddle with TTAB and TTAs, as they're now only vestigial. Once updated for FT, I expect that computers will remain compatible with Apartment Life as well".  Here is the link to the tutorial I followed: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?p=1953068#post1953068 - according to the tutorial, no need to fiddle with TTAB's.  Again, if I did something wrong, point it out. I'm new at updating stuff.  I thought I'd give it a try and save somebody time and update it myself.

Thanks Knightguy - I also tested it in Uni before I uploaded it just to make sure they could write their term paper.  You mean a blue screen on the picture in buy mode or when you add it to your sims house?  I checked it in my daughter's game in one of her houses and I didn't notice a blue screen.

I also downloaded his re-updated tvs.  I'll look at my game this time and see if I notice a blue sreen on the Deztv.

Edit: I see what you mean.  A light blue screen in the picture in buymode.  I didn't really notice when I downloaded both tvs.  Thanks Knightguy for the fix - ya, shocker it was something EA/Maxis did.

Which EPs do you have? Try Argon's version (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11573.msg362789.html#msg362789) instead.

That's the problem. Skin files do not work in Bins folder, only objects should go there.

It depends on the kind of stuff (clothing or objects). It's basically (for objects) to assign a Group Number, update to any new EP, fix minor bugs, and remove duplicate useless files. Waht do you want to decostumize?

What exactly is the function of the "*_3D.package" files that come with the clothing (such as the FT exercise outfits)?  Since the clothing shows up in CAS when I omit them from the Downloads folder, I assume they're not essential.  Why are they included with the files, and what exactly do they do?

::) I discovered this to be true (after a second cup of coffee) when I installed the EP5 halter swimsuit and it would not work without the accompanying 3D.package.  I didn't figure you'd stick unnecessary files in the downloads, which I why I was confused as to why the first one I tried was apparently not needed.  No problem--I'll just create a sub-folder and include them all together.  Thanks :)

- Tropiaries (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9997.0.html) By Argon
- There are others but I cannot remember where they are, take a look at Peasantry.

As far as I know there's no decostumized cars, I'll may do them (yesterday I was working on them) and post them here.

The soccer uniform set is also available in Exchange (http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/sim_detail.php?asset_id=596219&asset_type=sim&user_id=72683), which EAxis recycled in FT except for face makeup and toddler version.

AFAIR, there was no official EAxis-made objects that was exclusive for German site. Fiat Punto is official, but it's available on several official European EA sites. Other objects like egg radio or plumbob trophy are not EAxis-made, they were made with SimPE. I wouldn't consider them as official. Only those 2 carnival skins for CF and AM are their exclusive official EAxis-made stuff.

I remember the free rabbit costumes and facepaint from the exchange. I had them in my game but then got sick of them as I didn't use them and so I deleted them.
Darcy, who did make the easter egg radio that was given away on the German site this past Easter (or was it 2007?) as a part of their 'egg hunt' then?

Apart from last year's Advent Calendar, which were entirely fan-made contents, I don't remember anything related to Christmas from German site.

I don't know who, but a quick look into the package file revealed that it was indeed made with SimPE.

The other two items are here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,13733.msg391591.html#msg391591) (Gnome) and here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,13733.msg391600.html#msg391600) (Planter).

Edit:

I've been de-customizing and updating several Maxis official clothings and objects. (preorders/Exchange stuff)

What's the difference:

  • Objects were updated to Apartment Life, in case update is required.
  • Unrecolorable objects and formerly unrecolorable subset in recolorable objects were made recolorable.
  • Redundant resources like duplicate textures and animation files were removed to reduce the size. Compressed with jfade's compressorizer (http://www.djssims.com/index.php?category=1&subcat=5).
  • Custom star was removed from clothing/hair thumbnails. Instead they bear the corresponding EP/SP icon....

How did you do this?

Take a look here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9433.0.html)... There's also some interesting info at the begining of the thread, why don't you read a bit?

Thank you Lord Darcy, I've seen you're work around MTS2, there are much more useful stuff here  ;D
I want to change the icon of an item, not made by you actually, it was made by Argon, I want to change the pets icon on one hair he decustomized, can you give me a short guide about just making the hair to be 'included' in... Apartment Life bins? or whatever they called? (sorry for the offtopicness)  :D

Woops, I'm so stupid, Richief just gave a link to a tutorial of some kind, sorry.

Thanks Lord Darcy these are great. I am having one issue though, the season's raincoat is showing up funny, the neck and legs are showing as black and the hands are black and grey.
this might be an M&G issue as I do not remember this from before installing M&G

Seasons raincoat works fine for me in M&G. Which file did you download?

Are you sure you don't have duplicate files lurking somewhere in your Downloads folder? You're supposed to have only one file (Elena.package), and nothing else. It's now a recolor of Seasons mesh, no longer having its own standalone mesh.

yes I am a complete idiot..I had other elena packages in there, spent the night cleaning out my downloads and found a few (weird they didn't show as duplicates on clean installer) now I have subfolders within subfolders. Thank you for your help

Okay, so this is an old thread and I guess everyone who wants these things already has them installed and working. Well, maybe not everyone.    ::)

With everything installed and patched through AL except for the holiday stuff pack, I can find almost everything. The camping lantern I cannot find, but I have a custom version with no rock that includes a version that hangs on the wall, so that's not a problem. An AF outfit caused my game to crash when going through the catalog using the clothing tool, but deleting the Shelby package seems to have fixed that. However—

The one item I want that is not appearing in the catalog is the H&M uniform shirt (even after deleting the CAS thumbnails). I had a custom version with its own mesh from MTS2, but with some pants the waistband pokes through the shirt when the sim moves, so I was hoping the pre-order version would not have that problem, but the shirt just does not appear in the catalog—it is for adult men, right? I have removed the MTS2 version, to no effect.

Is there another file in addition to ambody_uniformshirt.package that is required for this to show up? It's one of the few H&M things for men that isn't stupid.   ;D

On a slightly different topic:  Just to be clear, the Maxis objects can go in \TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins, but the recolors of those objects go in Downloads?

Thanks!

I can answer this one, you can put the recolors in with the objects or in downloads. It depends on what you are going for. I put any maxis match recolors in bins with the other objects, and anything else that is non-essential for my game in with everything else so that I can delete it if it it turns out it's not to my fancy after all.

The H&M uniform shirt incentive is a full body outfit, not a separate. Sounds like you're looking for it in tops.

We have to try, Jezzer. It's the only way to bring MATY back from the brink.
