Title: Should Bigfoot be a walkby/community lot visitor?
Post by: Emma on 2008 March 18, 23:11:06
I haven't even visited Three Lakes yet-but Bigfoot (named Bigfoot Bigfoot) is a regular visitor in these cook-offs. Bloody thing won too :D Is this a VBT? ???

Good news though-my Unsavory Charlatan spawned with facial hair and monocle! Huzzah!

Hey!  Bigfoot made pork chops!  ROTF!  I don't know why that is funny to me, but it is.

Isn't Bigfoot Bigfoot sort of the core Bigfoot?  Like the pollination technitian and Ideal plantsim...
I don't think he should be walking around and winning cooking contests.

That's what I thought Gwill. I hope my 'hood doesn't go kablooey, I've only just set the sodding thing up!

He hadn't been moved into the main neighborhood, I presume? In Queen's Cove, my ninja bigfoot was everywhere, but he lived in the forest in the main 'hood.

No, no-one has even visited the Bigfoot yet.

Emma, did you run from a clean and empty neighborhood template? The game will grab NPC's for the hobby lots instead of spawning townies for them. The first neighborhood I played, I had the burgular and Mr. Big show up to my Hobby Lots. I haven't tested in the neighborhood where I made custom townies. But that was my guess.

Running from clean templates and with antiredundancy loaded, my game has never yet (to my knowledge) spawned a Mr. Big or a male grand vampire.  I have seen female grand vampiresses only (in my beach hood, she's oriental, named "something Hsu").  I do get a Crumplebottom.  Is this bad?

The neighborhood in question was the new Hobby hood. I waited until there was a clean template before loading. So, it's possible that it pulled said NPCs because they were already spawned in game. *shrugs* I dunno WHY the stupid game didn't pull the dereresresrsedita's PLAYABLES to the hobby hood. But it didn't.

Trying to win the contest against Bigfoot is gonna suck, though, with his maxed skills and all. Even if he burns something, he has the charisma to kiss up to the judges.

Is there a hack that will make the game grab playables instead of npcs for these contests, and for that matter nayplace else where a playable works just as good as or better instead of npcs? (hate npcs....)

Nope-the only empty templates I used were for Seasons, Pets and BV-A001 so you don't get the maxis families in the bins. I'm going to get my sim to go and meet Bigfoot in 3 lakes and see what his name is.

I was wondering about BV NPC's are they supposed to show up at community lots in the main neighborhood?I sent my sim out on a outing afer a date that was pretty good to "cafe petit" in Pleasantview.

After the group outing was over the "Unsavory Charlatan" ??? appeared and my playable sim decided she needed to greet him,I canceled out the action and told her to walk home.

She complied but I noticed that in her fear panel she immediately spun the fear of being pick-pocketed :P.I thought BV NPC's were supposed to stay on the Vacation Community lots. ???

The UC can appear at any community lot.

Thanks Emma, I was hoping my hood wasnt borked with his arrival.

I had him show up on a home lot once.  But that was only after the resident 'met' him while on vacation, so I don't know if that's a factor.

I'm going to get my sim to go and meet Bigfoot in 3 lakes and see what his name is.

Mine was called 'Frank' - I thought it suited him.  Bigfoot Bigfoot is the template version.  I'm sure that's bad because his sim character file isn't in the neighbourhood folder.

It is a BAD thing if "Bigfoot Bigfoot" shows up, because he's supposed to not actually be in the game. I would suggest you remove his SDSC entry from your neighborhood files.

My bigfoot in Queen's Cove was named Ricky. Ricky, the bigfoot ninja. He kind of hit me as a character from some 80's B movie.

That's what I thought. How did he get there though? I suspect it was the Cuisine secret hobby lot as it is where I saw him for the first time. What would stop him from spawning again?

I am going to ditch this hood and start fresh. My sims can call him on the phone. I haven't got them to do so though.
