Title: "Furious with..." - Why?
Post by: sloppyhousewife on 2007 November 12, 12:52:34
Yesterday, it's been the first time that I played a YA living in a dorm for several semesters (my YAs usually have their own houses), and thanks to nouniprotect, I saw a lot of peeing and passing out (once, I had three dormies lying on the cafeteria floor and one napping in her food - it really looked as if the cafeteria cook had poisoned them all - unfortunately, one of them woke up before I could make a screenshot).

Now, my sim rarely had contact with any of the dormies, but still, he was in the negatives with three of them (all in the range from about -20/-20 to -30/-30), and furious with two. There hadn't been any interactions with them ever (except for some accidental conversations while eating / doing assignments). So no pranks, flirts, rejected games etc.

As far as I can tell, my sim has seen them all a) pee themselves, b) stink and c) pass out. But what was it that made him (not-too-nice, highly active neatfreak) furious? I'm not asking because I want to prevent it, but because it seems to be a nice alternative to "influence" relationships apart from the worn-out cheating.

Neatfreaks are displeased with people who pee on the floor.

Aha - I tended to suspect the stink. I can see a lot of future peeing in various sim households now.

I've always considered myself rather sloppy (no more than 3 or 4 neat points at most), but I'd still be pretty furious if I had to mop up other people's pee.

I have a strict "your puddle, your mop" policy.

They aren't fond of people peeing in the shower, either.  They want no pee outside the toilet.  EVER.

Normally, I'd agree, but my little max 7 neatfreak gained several skill points from cleaning up after these pigs. Plus, he loved it :D.

Is there a 'furious with...nobody' behavior related to this?  I have been thinking it might be corrupt behavior but this thread makes me wonder if anyone else has seen it.

Example:  There was a puddle in one bathroom from a sloppy sim in the shower that did not get mopped up, then more from bathing a dog, and yet more from another shower by a different sloppy sim, eventually covering almost the whole floor.  Quite some time had passed before the mess was cleaned autonomously by a neat-freak sim.  Sometime after the cleaning I noticed a 'furious' behavior and a completely blank flaming thought bubble associated with it.  Checking the relationships panel verified that the sim in question had no specific target for the furiousness.

Well, hell, I'm no 'neatfreak,' but I know I sure prefer all pee (and poo) to wind up in the terlet (and nowhere else) also!

By the way, lose game for grouchy sim may have almost the same furious effect as for neat sim to mop up after someone.

I have some neatfreak sim that became furious with the npc penguin after mopping its pee puddle on the edge of the lot. It results in a blank flaming thought bubble (as the npc penguin has no icon) and (that's what made me realise what was happening) a blank want to see someone's ghost (the yellow star shape in the back groung and the little ghost in the bottom right corner) which say "see ghost of *npc penguin" on mouseover.
Eventually it disappears, like any other furiousness....

I'd think so, yes. I saw the "furious with nobody" icon, too, right after I had my sim mop up puddle of unknown origin.

Well now that you mention it, that lot was getting many visits from the penguin.  I had fed it a lot of fish and it was, of course, peeing after every third fish as usual.  It is easily possible that cleaning those puddles could have caused it, just as you say, and your explanation makes sense.  Concerned that it might have been a portent of impending doom, I cleared the furiousness with strawberry juice shortly after seeing it.  This worked as it should so I didn't think much more of it.  Glad to see it is otherwise normal behavior, apparently.

Another question about being furious: Is the relationship malus stackable? For example: sim A sees sim B pee, sim A is furious with sim B, relationship drops to, say, -25/-25. Now what happens if sim B has another accident? Will this lead to relationship -50/-50 (not exactly, of course, but you get the idea)?

I have enemiesaccumulate, btw, so the negative score will stay the same unless something is done about it.

"I have Uralmisotisis! Really! If I don't go I'll die!"
Is that a real disease? Or just a pseudo-scientific term for Brynne-syndrome?

Yes. Sim A will get continuously more irate with Brynne's constant peeing on the floor.

Hm... so this could be a very efficient alternative to "socialise/unfriendly". I have to try that out as soon as I get home - I have a 3 bolts couple I'm pretty sick of...

I've yet to see a penguin pee.  :'( On the current house I'm playing, they have a huge pond, normally someone fishing (I'm building inventory for a future farmer's market), and all fishables are mounted in the kitchen. That penguin practically lives there. I have the youngest, Theodor Heuss Ridge, petting him all the time, and have fed him a couple times. No pee.

I totally know what you mean about 3-bolt couples, sloppyhousewife. I have a jerked-over dormie who has a 3-bolt attraction with one twin and a 1-bolt attraction with another, both of which are being pursued. If the girl doesn't get kicked out of college I'll be shocked...she's stuck in constant ACR euphoria. I swear all her thought bubbles are Putney-attraction, even when she's in bed with London.

I've almost never had a sim pee. I've had nannies pee, and once a townie visitor. No furiousness. However, I've seen bad relationship decay from a neat sim witnessing an exceptionally sloppy sim leak shower water.

I've yet to see a penguin pee.

Place three fish on the ground directly in the penguin's path, after the third fish it never fails to pee for me.

I didn't think it was that obscure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Parking_Garage

I've almost never had a sim pee.

Play with 'nodormieprotect' in your game, and your dorms will become a veritable lake. :)

Edited to add missing letter. ::)

It's not the ACR madness happening between two 3-bolters that drives me nuts, actually. What I hate is the pointless, unnerving following each other around, and sometimes, I have to stop playing the 3-b household in question before the urge to kill those clinging, drooling idiots gets too strong.

Making a sim pee is pretty easy: two, three espressi, then send him/her outside and "Smite" (the other motives should be reasonably high, of course). Voilą - instant puddle. Now I only have to make sure that the sim I want to break up is there to witness the accident. No relieving in the shower to damage relationships, though - extreme-slobs tend to meet an untimely demise in my game.

Of course, I could just kill one of them, but then, I had to deal with the annoying aftermath (the whining, not the ghost). Or I could let one of them move out, but this wouldn't change their marital status. Also, it's boring and uncreative ;D.

Just one thing, sloppyhousewife : it is mopping the pee puddle that makes the neatfreak furious, not just seeing the other sim pee himself.

Ah, thanks for the hint, pioupiou. I would never have thought of that given that neatfreaks always cheer when directed to clean up.
