Title: Odd fear?
Post by: starrling on 2007 February 20, 16:43:23
Per this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/Starrling/fears.jpg
this Sim has maxed all his skills (did the Pescado-drill-sargeant-method from toddlerhood on), graduated uni summa cumlaude or whatever and has a fear of being uneducated.  This seems a redundant fear, but I guess considering the maxis EA source, I shouldn't be surprised.  Or... could something be wrong here?

Lock it. That's one fear slot taken up by an unfulfillable fear instead of something stupid & way too common. :D

I wouldn't have a clue why it's happening, but I'd be happy if I got it.

I've never even gotten that one before with teenagers... maybe it's because I cut the teenager lifespan in half, though they sure can start rolling up the want to go to college when they're twelve days old! *sigh* A lot more of them won't be going to college when I'm synched and the Neighborhood Day 80 Apocalypse hits, so I'll have to see if they start rolling it up when it's more common for teenagers not to go to college in my game than it is now...

I've yet to see that fear.  In my Royal Challenge, i have a whole Class of teens who never get to go to college, 2 generations raised and sent off to college and the only 'education' fear i've seen, is that 'rejected for Private School'.  And since those Peasants never even attempt that scenario, it's a fear that's never realized.  Now after they transition to adult, several have had a bad memory of not going to college, but that's it.  It'd be a change of pace to see that 'uneducated' fear in some of my sims.   lol

I've seen it on Fortune sims once or twice. I'm pretty sure, anyway.

I've seen it on Knowledge sims, but I don't know why it doesn't go away after graduation.  I think it will eventually though.  I wouldn't waste a lock on it though, unless you use the college adjuster to cheat and give you a third lock. :P

Thanks everyone.  Well, I used a lock because now it's one less fear I have to concern myself with since I'm not using any cheats on this family.
