Title: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: Mizz Rose Bud on 2006 August 18, 21:37:04 the Only One Of Each Headmarster, Gardner, Nanny .......... etc ... now how many headmarsters do a neighborhood need ??? ??? ??? ??? or nannies or paperboy/girls ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr ....
what I really want is editable NPC ... but it seems to be a dream for now ... but why does the game have to spawn so many NPCīs ... is there a We Want More NPCs fan club that I havenīt heard about .... Maxis is sometimes a very unawesome company ::) Rose Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 18, 21:49:50 That has actually been in testing for a bit, and appears to not cause any harmful effects, but I haven't had any NPCs spawn yet. Requires testing for pre-NL versions:

Do you have another version, or should I download this one? (I have TS, Uni and NL only--no stuff packs.) I assume it's compatible with all your previous no-regen packs, or should those be pulled?
Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 18, 23:59:24 It works with all no-regen hacks. There's no "earlier" version, so you'll just have to see if this one explodes.
Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: moonluck on 2006 August 19, 06:39:37 I'm assuming it wont burninate extra NPC but will it stop the extras from coming and if it does, if I "accidentally" kill a nanny will the alternate come in or will it regenerate a new nanny?
Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: Mizz Rose Bud on 2006 August 19, 06:44:22 Is there anything that you guys donīt have a hack for *LOL* Thank you so very much ;D
Quote I'm assuming it wont burninate extra NPC but will it stop the extras from coming and if it does, if I "accidentally" kill a nanny will the alternate come in or will it regenerate a new nanny? I was about to ask the exact same question. Rose Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 19, 10:39:26 Extra NPCs will not be burninated, but no more will spawn unless absolutely necessary, not just to fill some magic quota of 3. So, for instance, if your neighborhood has a maid, that will be the only one in the neighborhood until you do something to cause a need for a second, like having the first one over as a visitor when the maid should arrive (another maid will thus be needed to take the first one's place), or killing/moving in the first one.
Burninating extra and unused NPCs is covered seperately. Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: Mizz Rose Bud on 2006 August 20, 07:04:48 Thank you :D and I have added it to my Downloads folder ... no problems so far :)

Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: jsalemi on 2006 August 24, 13:07:42 Burninating extra and unused NPCs is covered separately. WHERE??? Invite them over and drop a satellite on them? :) Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: Orikes on 2006 August 24, 14:27:39 I had a Nanny eaten by a cow plant purely unintentionally once. They're not that hard to kill...
Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: jsalemi on 2006 August 24, 16:28:24 Cow plants are good. :)
Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: seelindarun on 2006 August 24, 20:08:01 What would be the advantage of burninating extra NPCs which have already been spawned?
I mean, apart from the sheer fun ;D Their character files persist if you kill them, so it doesn't help with overpopulation... Just doggedly trying to get more awesome. ::) Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 24, 23:27:17 What would be the advantage of burninating extra NPCs which have already been spawned? By burninating extra NPCs which have already spawned, I mean, burninating them entirely from the game, wiping their character files utterly from existence and recycling their slot entirely.I mean, apart from the sheer fun ;D Their character files persist if you kill them, so it doesn't help with overpopulation... In your Awesome opinion what is the best (safest) method to do this? Using Simpe or SimEnhancer perhaps? Title: Re: A hack that I really would like to have Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 26, 12:12:01 SimPE is the best way to go about doing this. But then you also need to hex-edit a different resource to cause the game to reclaim those NIDs.
