How are you naming the self-sims in your game? Are you putting the screen name as the first name, last name or both?

For me first name first, last name last.  Cherie Gardner, Corey Gardner.

Everyone else is waiting in a folder for me to stop being lazy.

Ah... names, um... well... I'm using the screen name as the first name and variants of Sim for the last name.  For example I'm Dewshine Simfitt in my game.  (not that it matters).  Then there's BlueSoup Simmy, and Emma Simson.... Witch Indigosim... and so on.

I think I'm going to steel this idea and use it in the shared hood if you don't mind.

I don't mind one bit.  I'm glad to contribute in any small way I can.

I am using a couple of methods, for any name that can be broken up such as Dew Shine (and still make a fair amount of sense, that is what I am using. Others the last name is Maty, and some just have a last name that is either their zodiac sign or some other attribute as stated in the self sim post.

I've used one-word screen names as first names, and mostly Maty as the last name, except for Ancient Sim (and associates), who is Ancient Sim. In cases where it was easy to make a sensible first and last name from a screen name, I did that:  BlueSoup is Blue Soup. I also checked people's profiles and Web sites (if they listed one) looking for ideas for made-up last names; using, for example, parts of instant messenger names to construct a last name. Self-sims that came on lots have whatever names their creators gave them.

For example, LynnMar is Lynn Mar (obvious enough), Reggikko is Reggikko Laverwinkle because it's the name of her Web site, and Myth is Myth Chick based on the IM name that's shown in her profile.

Maybe when posting a self sim, one should put in their post what name he or she would prefer the sim be called?

Eh...I know the feeling.  I put up a self sim elsewhere wuite a while ago.  She was dressed in a bathingsuit I'd made myself, to look like one I really owned.  So when people began posting pictures of my sim, the clothing they had dressed her in...*shakes head*

Everyone assumed I dressed like a slut.  Kind of funny, actually. 

I call my self sim Lauren Black, which is my real first name, and the last name I use with one of my pen-names.

How about the porn star names then? You know, the one's where your christian name is the name of your first childhood pet and your surname is the street you lived on as a kid  :P

That would make me Fluffy Alaska. That's . . . sort of scary, really.

EDIT: Don't name my self sim that! Unless you really, really want to. And you're absolutely sure that I will never be able to find you.

No, my dad did. My parents, being ex-hippies (well, my Mum still is, but yeah), were real John and Yoko fans. Of course, everyone thought it was an insult - since the pet was a female dog. Not intended that way!!  ;)

I grew up on 89th street... but I suppose if we go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy back to when I was much younger, I did live on Cresent Ave, but that was only for like 5 years. But that does make it better: Mike Crescent

As for my simmies, well I was planning on having everyone in the same household maybe, but just have Maty as the last name for everyone. Lol. Or, possibly, I will use a random name generator and use everyones username as the Last name.  :D

Don't name my sim-self that or I'll give you virtual black eyes. :D  My real first name is Andrea. You can use that if you like. Last name is up to you.

My older son has a great one, Wanky Duffy. Yes, Wanky. What else would you expect a three year old with a problem pronouncing "FR" to name a turtle?

Franzie was not my first pet, but my first female one by the way. My very first pet's name was Hamurabi. Using my middle name is also not an option; like I posted in Simmiecal's sim thread, I also don't have a middle name. Yes, I'm that poor :D

My middle name is Michelle ;D I'd be Michelle Warmington...that's boring! I like Honey better. I actually have a sim called Honey in the game, she is married to Joe Carr.

Well, I don't have a self-sim and never had a female pet, but if I can use my middle name then mine would have to be Lynne Range, I guess. Kinda boring actually, sigh. When you guys make your self-sims, do you sit there with a reference picture of yourself to try to match? I kinda suck at making sims look like anybody in particular.

When I made mine, I knew it looked nothing like me except the hair and the forehead.  But it was as much work as I was willing to put into it.  Brynne made my new, improved Self-Sim, complete with a rounder (Shut up, JM  ;)) head, and for the most part, it looks more like me.  Seriously though, how much can a Sim actually resemble a real person?  Not that much, IMHO.

Ha, that made me think of that Friends episode where Joey finds his "identical hand twin"! Just imagine walking down the street, seeing someone & saying, "that chick has my forehead!"  ;D

I did sims of my family members from pictures of them.  They don't really look as much like them as I wanted them to.  There's only so much messing around I am willing to do though.  :)

I also remember that my family had two Afghan hounds named Leroy and Miji.  I guess someone could use Leroy and Miji Bennington as well.   :D

I used reference pictures, yeah. I had two front views, two profiles, and two 3/4 views. It looked a lot like me in bodyshop, but I haven't tried it out in-game yet.

Must be a german thing I don't have a middle name either, I used my nick here and my maiden name.
