Title: Question about alien abduction
Post by: MrsCrumplebottom on 2013 April 15, 15:45:08
Well, I'm new to Sims 3, got it a couple of weeks ago, went ahead and got Generations and Seasons.

At any rate...is there anything a Sim does that makes him more likely to be abducted...and more likely to get knocked up?

I've had two adult male Sims abducted.  One got pregnant, the other didn't...so it seems abduction doesn't necessarily mean alien baby.  Thing is...aliens aren't my thing.  If it happens again I'll just send the bundle of joy off to the "homeworld."

What honks me off is that you can't cancel the "Investigate Anomaly" interaction.

I'd ask about hacks...but it seems I can't download anything onto a flash drive (I have no Internet access at home and have to trek to the library).

Just wondering if there's anything my Sims can do to not catch aliens' attention.

You must not have AM installed.  I had no idea alien abduction were possible until I had to play without it.

If the sim queues up the investigate action, pause the game and reset your sim. It's what I do when I don't want the possibility of alien babies. I have no idea if this fucks things up, though.

That's sadorandomness. AM does not prevent abductions.

falconpunch will terminate spawn (AM), and
resetsim will push it out of the investigate anomaly (AM)

Thanks!  :)

BTW I'm playing a completely vanilla game at the moment.  Good to know there are at least some things I can do *in game* to undo the EAxoids' unawesomeness.

*mutters about those crazy EAxoids*

All the commands they talk about require Awesomemod to be installed and will not work with a vanilla game.

The resetsim command worked for me without AM, at least with interrupting abductions.

D'OH! I thought it was a command that came with AM. My bad.

Also, BAAA for the tip. I had a sim that was abducted three times in a week and of course, I had no idea how to cancel it.

I thought it was an AM command too, but resetsim is very often my best friend. It also kibosh's the irational scold child for running out of the house to go to school after the bus has gone and all the stupid accuse of loops that can occur.

I use resetsim to get zombies out of my garden when I forgot to lock the gate. Stupid EA and their stupid references to stupid games that I don't care about.
