Title: Can I get Sims2 to use more RAM? Post by: KinwatsaZ on 2009 December 13, 01:37:43 Hi,
I recently upgraded to 8GB of RAM and Windows 7 64bit. I notice however that I am limited to 4096 (4GB+) in the game. Whadda waste. Is there a way to force the game to use more of what is available to it? My machine is dual-core. If I use only one will it use more ram or less? There is an easy way in Windows 7 to make that kind of setting. Is there a setting I can use in config? Please advise...I have tons of CC and wish I could add more, but even with 4GB operating I still see a 1900+ cache (from the page file?) It is silly to have this game using a slow pagefile when it could be using the physical memory. Thanks, K Title: Re: Can I get Sims2 to use more RAM? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2009 December 13, 02:08:20 No. TS2 is a 32-bit program. A 32 bit program normally can only use 2 GB, and it's only with some serious arm-twisting that you can persuade it to use 4, possibly at the cost of making the program unstable.
