Title: Do we need DasmX86Dll.dll?
Post by: kittyuk on 2009 November 22, 10:45:49
Roaming through my Sims files I saw a reference to DasmX86Dll.  This .dll is not in my system folder.  A google search showed that players of the E.A. game, Spore, are having trouble with that game crashing and they mentioned this DasmX86Dll!  Don't know if this .dll is needed, but gawd......I'm fed up of my game crashing!!

This seems to be a legacy library which was needed for a debugging tool used in development. It seems that some debugging code was left over that refers to this .dll file, however it is not the cause of crashing or errors. Rather, the errors cause the game to look for the debug utility to report the error, with results in the 'cannot find .dll' message. If you search some more you should be able to even find the debugging tool (and the .dll) file for download; however it will not help in itself as it is not the cause of the error, merely part of the reporting process.
