More Awesome Than You!

This month we're looking for build mode objects (doors, windows, pillars, fences, stairs, etc.) that are ugly, poorly made, the product of a deranged mind, or otherwise fundamentally flawed.  Meshes or recolors of existing objects are all fair game.

Rules:
1. Items must be have been created BEFORE this contest! No creating an awful item just to win!
2. Items must be submitted by the deadline, the end of November, server time.
3. Moar rules may be made up along the way.

Not as horrible as Ella's entry, but still pretty bad. I can't decide which one's worse for this particular set, though...  the black or the gray. I think that the top part would've looked nice on its own.

I thought I could add it to the rohina house. It lacks mysterious purple rocks of possibly alien origin. Or possibly bio-hazardous radioactive contamination site origin. Either way.

I'm pretty sure it was never intended for a science-fiction themed neighborhood.

Actually, I use the more normal recolors of it a lot.

Some of the louder walls could be used for just one wall of a room (or a few tiles), as cheap decoration... but pizza walls? yeesh, that's weird.

Well, pizza walls would be an excellent way to advertise your wares if you ran a pizza parlor... "Ladies and Gentlemen, this is our finest up close photo of our super-deluxe, all-natural, no preservatives added pepperoni pizza! Gaze upon its grease-laden goodness! And to your left is our cheese pizza... Please line up at the cash register in a single-file line when you are ready to order..."

The purple tree is fine, IMHO, it looks like a crepe myrtle.

The walls (too bad they aren't objects!) are all hideous. I assume most don't tile properly, too.

One issue with weird or icky build objects, like, say, windows, is that one or two on a house might be workable. It is when they are overused (like the weird Maxis bubble windows and such) that they start to offend on a deeper level.

I mean, it's plain, flat-paint.  How many shades of yellow paint does anybody need?  I'll download fifteen different colors of trailer siding because that it beyond my skills, but even I can make flat paint walls or make new colors of the in-game carpet tiles.  Learn a new trick already.

Well, I have 50 rich-toned stuccos I made. 40 are plain, 10 striped. I believe I've used them all. But I wouldn't release them in itty sets like that. That's just spam.

I was surprised that they all are "picked" uploads.

I looked at the thanks count and it is quite high on all of them. You know, creations are not only just 'picked' by staff but also can be picked by thanks count.

And I have been searching for ages for the perfect yellow carpet.  :P  I haven't found it yet.

If you're looking for yellow carpet, you'll never find perfect carpet. Enough said.

Some obsessions can be good. I mean, Piggi has got to be INSANE, but she's one of the best things in the TS2 community. :)

Stucco? I like stucco, I've done a half-dozen recolors of the Maxis stucco with quoining and I use them all the time, and the other game stuccos, that have more texture, I love those, and I'm still looking for a nice bluey-greyish stucco that isn't too dark, the ones I've done were too dark or too greenish in game, I should give it another try ...

Oh. Um. Yeah. Spam.  And lots of it.  If he/she is really driven to offer them, why not stuff them all in a nice mega-wall-pack?

If she offered them all in 1 big mega pack she wouldn't have had to make up new names for the same color.

That was probably the most fun thing about making them. Or the only fun thing, actually.

Great, let's just cover the whole visible spectrum, in 1nm increments. And what's the point anyway, since you play with the walls down most of the time? :P

I NEVER play with walls down! I only play with walls up. I used to play with walls down in The Sims 1, but that was because of it's limited rotation. It is much more pleasing to the eyes with walls up.

I play with walls cutaway. They get in the way too much otherwise.

Technically competent, but kinda fugly. And why the little galaxies clouding up the windows? It's not utterly Awful, I suppose, but I wouldn't use it.

Some people, such as myself, like bright colors. I'm going to grab those green and pink walls. Probably won't use them often, but I still want them.

Parsimonious' stuff is either great or really tacky.

A lot of the tacky stuff looks fantastic when recolored. I have a whole set of realistic plants that someone made by recoloring the plants in the weird alien set that I never would have downloaded.

Sometimes it even manages to be both, like when they are GOOPY themed, for EMMA.

I'm a big fan of quality tacky things. Why be normal?
And I love Parsimonious Kate's star windows, I use them all the time.

@Jesslla - I started to laugh when I clicked the link you posted -- I have that particular build set in my game. In fact, I have a lot of the "Lost in Space" stuff in my game for an alien colony. All of the houses have been built with that set.  ;D

Funny, I'm the other way around. Or rather, I was. Now I have walls down or cutaway on everything now. Even my actual house. It really saves having to get around everything...

I don't know why I have the star windows from the Lost in Space theme or how I got them.

I can see that being useful for a themed house, perhaps, but otherwise, they are quite atrocious. And the thought itself is pretty disturbing too. Those things came from something DEAD and probably haven't even decomposed enough to be hygienic. Although, it's not quite as gross as those blood pools. Ich.

I would to ask how the hell you came up with that situation. Though it does sound realistically like what a female 12 might do.

I stumbled across fanfiction.net once - the first thing I saw was "Marth X Game + Watch". I curled up in the corner and waited for the sweet embrace of death.

Yes, I do wonder what they killed to get the gigantic bones for the diving board. A T-Rex? The same creator has a matching skull sink, a bookcase and bed set with the same unshaded skulls, but no skull toilet, thank goodness.

That hypothetical situation is one I didn't have to invent. I just combined some of the themes I have run into on LiveJournal, MTS2, and other sites without even looking for it. All I can say is, some of those kids are gonna wish they locked their journals someday. Really weird and tacky custom content amuses me. I love threads like this.

Hey, blood pools would be pretty neat. The wife says bathing in blood is the best thing ever, but that it's really hard to get enough blood before it gets cold, because bathing in cold blood is nasty. Also, that it's supposed to keep your skin looking looking youthful and supple (provided you do it while the blood is still warm), and that this is probably the reason that I have the consistency of tire, and that I should bathe in more blood.

I dunno about pets - how many could you get that weren't just covered in rainbow stars and such? All of Agent420's creepers were already nominated in another thread.

Well I've seen some pets that happen to be masquerading as some sort of Dog/Polar Bear abomination, and the like. I'm sure some people out of there have attempted and failed miserably at producing something other than rainbow cats and dogs.

Might I sugest the annual "OMG Holidays" theme, or a "WTF Lots".  There hasn't been a crazy lots contest in a while.

Pretty sure we've done "fugly pets" before. And god, were they fugly.

I have actually been warming my hands on my laptop, with limited success. :P I'm jolly glad that I did buy another sheepskin, I've needed it every night since to keep me warm.

Make a hand/foot warmer! Take a tube sock (clean at least, preferably new) and fill it with rice. Tie off the top. Microwave for 1-3 minutes. Enjoy the warmth. That, thermal underwear, and flannel sheets are the only things that keep me toasty at night.

I've been planning one for a while, actually. ;) I need to look at my mohair offcuts so I can have a furry one. That and buy some rice.

I think that's a good idea. Would well made, but uncorrectly categorised clothes count? I've been seeing a lot of skimpy dresses categorised as outwear lately.

I decided to go into body shop and reimport a dress as swimwear. One of the strapless, sparkly ones in the Formal category. I, alongside a few friends, wanted to see what it would look like.

Wouldn't already having it in your game be the only way to tell that the clothing was in the wrong category anyway? Creators usually don't point it out in their propaganda.
