Title: African Charm
Post by: witch on 2008 July 15, 10:02:48
I've been playing Desiderata since Freetime came out. Natasha Una in my game, is an arty type who tends to go off on tangents. She has three children to different fathers and is enormously rich. As an art icon she can pick and choose where to live and after a while I noticed her house was getting more and more of an African theme. So I built her a compound.

Now John Mole is moving in with her, he comes from a modernised, high tech, robots everywhere, type of environment. He's head of the SCIA and hopefully is adaptable. He's leaving his home to be run by a couple of servos in the meantime.

The lot was designed for an all round summer season, hopefully John Mole has the technology to take care of that aspect. As per usual, this lot got bigger and bigger and would be suitable for either a dorm or another hotel.  ::) There are either 4 or 5 bedrooms, depending what is done with the empty room, and 4 bathrooms. The place is based around fishing and growing food. The lot costs around §83k. It is not awesome spec.

It has some custom content, including quite a lot of the cs stuff, so won't be available on Laverwinkle.
Here are some pictures.

To make this house run properly you need:

1) to delete: coco1 - coco4, palm1 - palm3, colpalm and palmbig. I will update the lot file later today.
16/7/08 16.20 - Done. The house lot now contains only needed files for the trees, no hitch-hikers.

2) You will need these files; CS_Easelsurvival need the CS_EaselPalette, CS_Easelsurvival_Canvas and the CS_EaselPaintbrush files, from this thread (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11608.0.html) to make the easels work.

3) And last the Drums Pescado made need cs_corefuncs to work. cs_corefuncs (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/index.php?dir=csconv%2F)
I expect the toiletbush needs the corefuncs package too.

All thanks to Havelock, for links and information.

Witch, that is gorgeous :D I saw it in your help thread, but refrained from commenting on it as Pescado/BastDawn would've kicked my butt! I love the turrets on the front of the lot, I never really know how to use those roofs. Landscaping is just lovely, I bet it looks great from NH view :)

The sheer number of bathrooms clearly reveals that this was not made by an Emma.

Normally tiki / tropical / African-inspired stuff is just not my cup of tea, but I have to say your lot is absolutely gorgeous, witch. Nice job!

I rarely download lots, but Witch-- yours keep sneaking into my downloads folder. Your lots are always extra playable, and this one is no exception. The semi-enclosed garden is just wonderful.
And this is just my style... so I would venture to say that this lot should be renamed Kazzandra's charm. Yep.  ;)

Warning! Warning! Danger, Will Robinson!

Havelock has identified some issues with the lot. (Nothing dangerous, in fact, I was just fucking with your minds.  ;D)

I've added some notes at the bottom of the first post.

These things are only a problem if you want the drums and the easel to work. I'll modify and add some files as soon as I can get to my big PC.

2) Also the CS_Easelsurvival need the CS_EaselPalette, CS_Easelsurvival_Canvas and the CS_EaselPaintbrush files to work proper.
I can't see these files in http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/index.php?dir=csconv%2Fobjects%2F, so I'll make a rar file up with them included.

Thats because they are non Awesomware made by me.  ;D

So, how many bathrooms do you have in real life Emma?

None. I pee in a huge bush in my back garden :P

(Actually I have 2-one upstairs and one downstairs)

 :D

Actually, Pescado, most of my stuff I've been making lately have adequate bathrooms available. So, nyah. :P I'm just (trying to) build an awesomespec house from scratch for fun. I was going to upload it to Illusions, but whatever. I'll upload it here. You can take a look and pick faults if you wish. It is nearly done, structure and landscaping is finished, just gonna furnish it and playtest.

Maybe, but only because we needle you for your past acts of INADEQUATE BATHROOMIOUSNESS.

Title: Re: African Charm
Post by: Emma on 2008 July 16, 11:39:42
No actually...if you wanna know why I make more bathrooms it is because of macrotastics :P Everything I make I make for myself, I just share what I do. I realised that by just having 2 or 3 bathrooms for a 6-8 sim family I was creating problems for myself in the mornings because everyone needs to go then. Quick fix is to divide bathrooms and not have tubs but when I build from scratch I make the space for moar bathrooms. If I still need more then I divide the ones I have. On the first floor I still tend to do the divide bathroom thing though purely because of space and visitors don't shower unless influenced to do so.

Super, Witch!  I have a bunch of houses designed for "all around summer" (well, 2-3) that I built prior to Seasons.  I think I may start a "Spring-Summer only" hood for these, rather than weatherproof them.

Will yoink when I get home.

None. I pee in a huge bush in my back garden :P

Well, it's obviously thriving, so it's all good, I guess.
