Title: Wardrobe Malfunction
Post by: reavo on 2008 June 30, 12:55:32
First off I have every ep and sp through ikea stuff.  The problem started when I decided to uninstall and make a clean install w/ patches and everything.  Now the only thing my sims do autonomously is stand at the wardrobe and change clothes.  This happens with kids all the way to elders.  They ignore all needs while changing until they're in the red.  The only way I've found to stop them is power idle.    Please help.....btw I looked for another thread about this and didn't find one so sorry if I duplicated.

Do you have Free Will activated?

I've never seen a sim voluntarily change clothes at the wardrobe/dresser before. Sure, when I tell them to put on their Outerwear before they go outside, they're autonomously pleased as pie to change back into their PJs before they hit the back door, but I've never heard of a sim just walking over to the dresser and changing.

I always play with free will activated and I've never seen this happen before.  They stand there and cycle through all their outfits....over and over again.

Clearly your game is haunted.

Sounds like a non-awesome hack might be doing this.

Do you have any hacks that allow your sims to change clothes autonomously?  If so, that hack could be what is broken.

Have you tried the binary search method to determine which hack is causing this problem in your game?  Please read this section of the FAQ (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,7437.msg208008.html#msg208008) for information on how to conduct a binary search.

I bet it's an issue with custom clothing.  Remove your downloads and see if it still happens.

I don't have any hacks to allow my sims to change autonomously.  I'm taking everything nonAwesome  out of my game and trying again.

Well, that worked.  YAY!  So now I get to go through and put one thing at a time in my game to find the culprit.   Thanx for the help!

Try putting half of them back in at a time.  It's much faster that way.

If you get the error with the half you put back in, then you know the error is in that half.  If you don't get the error, then you know the error is in the other half.

Then repeat, with half of the group of hacks that was erroring.  Rinse and repeat until you find it.

When you don't have a clue which download is causing the error, a binary search like this is faster than testing every single hack/hacked object/CC one at a time.

Don't forget to come back and tell us what is causing the error ;D

Check your Dizzy mods. He has one that allows naked Sims to get dressed (at least that's how he describes it) but what it did in my game was cause every bloody Sim to randomly change into other clothing.

I had this happen using Squinge's Wear Anything Pregnancy mod, maybe it's that?
