Title: Adding textures for making custom clothes on sewing machine, is it possible?
Post by: twistingsims on 2008 April 19, 22:53:00
Basically, that's my question, I wonder if is possible, or perhaps a mod to make it possible?

Not as yet, no.

Replacements should be pretty easy though.

I wish we could replace the meshes. That child clothing is a special sort of torture. The others are ok, but the child outfit looks like it's about six inches too long and has bell bottoms.

I haven't really tried the sewing machine yet. From what I'm reading it appears that using it to sew clothes does nothing so much as fill up your closet with really ugly unlockable maxis clothes.

Dammit, I was hoping it'd actually be cool. At least tell me my sims can sew what's already in the game if they so choose?

Yes. It's cheaper to sew the outfit than it is to buy it from a clothing shop.

ah, but is that including custom clothes, or just the stuff that comes with the game?

You can sew custom clothes as well - I think that's where one of the problems with the FT patch came in though.

Admittedly, the barefoot child clothing is pretty bad.

But the dented-chest toddler clothing gives it a run for its money.

Strangely enough, that outfit reminds me of a frog. Like when you pick them up under their arms? Their bodies are like that.

WTF?! I agree with morriganrant. And if not a frog, then a carton of milk. One of the "classic" push-and-pull-to-open jobs that never quite tore right and bore the compression scars from your valiant struggle to rip into it.

I've been wondering if anyone knows, does this remain a problem if you have already successfully installed the patch?  i.e., can you then make custom clothes without breaking anything?
